Quick note to Cheryl,

I'm so glad your Mom is doing ok! The sooner she walks after surgery the sooner she'll be home. Joint surgeries are very painful because you can't rest the incision site like other surgeries. She has to move that joint now, or else it will get so inflammed and stiff that she'll have a terrible time recovering later. I've seen peopel up and walking the next day, and then two days after surgery we're walking them 3-4 times. I hope she is able to recover enough to go home and not to rehab, and that depends on her getting up now. It will hurt her because of the fresh incision, but it's exactly what her joint needs! :thumbsup2

I hope she does great today, and I'm so glad you have someone to help you with her.

T-Shirt cutting update finale- The camera is MIA. We took it to the zoo last week. I might be buying a new camera this week! :scared1:

So much chatting yesterday. I tried to catch up with everything, but there is just so much.

Cheryl- Glad to hear you mom's surgery went well. Isn't it amazing how fast they now get people out of bed to walk post surgery? Even for hips. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for you mom.

Just a quick update of my BFF's baby....she had a rough day yesterday. She stopped breathing twice and they ended up having to re-intubate her. My friend thought she was gonna lose her. Lucky, all the docs on the case happened to be on the unit when it happened, so they were able to care for her right away. Her heart is doing well, and her lungs are clear, and all her vitals are stable. It just looks like she is too little to handle it on her own so close to surgery. They are going to wait a little longer before removing the tube. They are postive though that the tube will be removed and she will breathe on her own soon. Just need to give her some more time. I am hoping to get an update sometime this morning.

Thank you for everyone who is sending prayers and good thoughts.

So, because of everything that has gone on with my BFF's DD, I am behind in getting ready for the trip. DD had a game yesterday and that sucked up my entire afternoon. Plus, a cousin is staying with us because I am taking both of them to see Jonas Brothers movie today. Lucky for me they are old enough to watch it alone, but I still need to drive them down there and wait. I also have tons of homework to finish up. I need to do some wash, organize my stuff and pack. Not to mention run the last errand or two. Monday and Tuesday are packed full for me. And I really don't want to wait to the last minute.

Right now I am trying to get some homework done while catching up on the DIS. Hopefully I can get some stuff done while the girls are watching their movie. But I have no idea how I am gonna get the other stuff done today. I may have to enlist the girls to do some stuff for me.

I received Photopass money from Amy F., Wendy, & Debbie. Michelle, I still haven't gotten yours; probably lost in the mail somewhere... Can you check and make sure I didn't get it, deposit it, and then completely forget that I got it?

It hadn't cleared as of yesterday. I feel so bad, I had that one out fairly quickly.

Cheryl glad to hear your mom's surgery went well and continued prayers to you both for healing.

Stacie glad to hear that your friend's daughter made it out of surgery as well and prayers to her and your friend as well.

Oh Cheryl, I am so glad your mom is recovering nicely. Wow, what a scare. Let me know if there is anything AT ALL we can do.

I am sooooo in for the October mini-meet to celebrate Beth's birthday (among others). DH is going on his yearly week long fishing trip that week and DD is going somewhere with her roomies and I was pouting that I would be all alone. Well, now I will be with my DIZ friends at my favorite place in the world! YEAH! I think I will hold out for a sweet AP rate on site. Hummm.

I was thinking the same thing--a month later and we could stay DVC!!!

Cheryl - So glad to hear your mom is recovering well & so soon. Thank God for Ines, she must be such a comfort and help to you and your mom.

So you all know that a soda in DLR cost $2.96 + tax. Well I bought a six-pack of 16 oz. Coke Zero for $3.00 + tax.

Yay for saving money!

I think I might be renewing my AP but I will be downgrading to the Southern California AP. I'm just not sure of my financial situation, seeing as how I don't have a steady job at the moment and I just can't bear to fork over $308 for a Deluxe AP (or $233 for a So. Cal) at one time. Ugh, I hate money troubles. I still have a month to think about so... crossing my fingers for a steady job! (I do have a summer job coming up... if they rehire me).

Cristabel: the Deluxe pass at Costco is $269 AND you get a $50 gift card back. Just sayin'

Cheryl - whew. You really deserve some extra pixie dust.

"CD" - I love it.

Hey wait: I'm "CD" (in real life!) that's ok--I'll let you borrow it here :rotfl:

Stacie: what hospital is she in? One of my very good friends is a respiratory therapist in a neonatal intensive care unit. I have told her on many occasions that I couldn't do what she does--it would just be too heart-wrenching. Prayers continue for your BFF and her baby.

Ok--so Mom called this morning and wanted her glasses so she can read the menus! LOL--so I guess she's hungry (good sign, right?) I also have to take her shoes so she can walk. (She has arthritic nodules on the bottom of her feet (which I think I'm getting too--going to doc on Tues.) which means she has to have shoes on to be able to walk.

I hadn't planned to go to work today because I was supposed to be at DL, so think I will go see her for a while and then maybe go to the office to try to get a jump on things for the week (or . . . . maybe not). I could also use the time to get organized for the trip too.

Oh, and the only thing I may bail out on is the Ariel's lunch--is it ok with everyone if I play it by ear?

Other than that--the "bad" news is that this morning's weather report is that there is supposed to be rain on Friday!! Might put a bit of a crimp in everyone's day but then again maybe the crowds will be lower. Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be nice. I will keep an eye on it and update every day. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on what happens, it can completely change by next weekend!

Thanks to everyone again for all your good thoughts! I'll be back later!

Cheryl - I'm so happy to hear your mom is doing well. Yes, I think if she's hungry, that's a good sign!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes I will pray that she has a speedy recovery. You're a great daughter by the way. Also, if you're ever looking for a DVC roomy, I'd be happy to volunteer, and in exchange, I'll do the laundry.....and even cook a great meal for us. :rolleyes1

Stacie - Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear about the little darling's breathing problems. Hopefully in a few days she'll recover some more and gain more strength. And those poor parents......they must be so scared and besides themselves with worry. You let them know that they'll remain in my thoughts and prayers.:flower3:

Callie - Don't let the planning scare you away from a WDW trip. It's a wonderful place to vacation. I hate the thought of you not experiencing it. Honestly, if you don't do the dining plan, then the planning is relatively easy. But for us (with two young kids), the dining plan is a good deal, so we've done it twice now. It does make the planning a bit more complicated, but certainly doable. Actually, if you get kind of a "high" from planning a Disneyland trip, then you'll be VERY HAPPY while planning a trip to WDW. :hyper: :smokin:

Okay, so I know that I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to this stuff, but I'm taking Beth at her word about the mini meet weekend. I asked Dave if he cared if we went a week earlier this year and he didn't mind, so I checked the Ent Rate and it IS available that weekend. Thus, I went ahead and made a ressie, as they are easy enough to change if plans change. If others are serious about going the weekend of Oct. 23-25, I highly recommend getting online or calling Lorealle on Monday morning!
That's great!! I'm going to make a reservation too then for the 23rd thru the 25th. It will be a fun mini meet!! :dance3:

I will be there, but I can't make that one a Girl's Only Trip. Both Dave and Ty love Halloween at DLR, so they will be along for the ride. But, we can make it a Dis Divas and Families Get Together
I agree. Not a Girls Only Trip completely, but maybe at one point we can do a girls only dinner? Like we did at Cafe Orleans last October. Then the rest of the time we can meet up with each other's families.

Oh boy, Ruben has no idea what he unleashed by buying me another AP!! :lmao: It barely arrived yesterday and I'm already booking another trip. :rotfl2:

I'm completely overwhelmed and fearful of WDW to the point of being completely paralyzed and just can't force myself to plan a trip there.:scared:
You can do it! You don't give yourself enough credit. You're a great planner.

So, all is well, Mom is on the road to recovery (they're getting her up to walk tomorrow :scared1: ) and I am exhausted, going to eat something chocolate and going to bed.
 I'm glad to hear she's doing much better now. Enjoy your rest and chocolate. You've earned it!

Hmmmm, maybe I will too.:scratchin

I don't know yet. We were sort of planning on being there for Halloween. I'll have to run it by Justin.:thumbsup2

I love Disney and really don't have a problem with the tickets prices or anything, but sometimes their food and drink prices really bug me. :sad2:

Thanks for the update Stacie. Poor little dear. I'll continue to send good thoughts and prayers her way. I can't imagine how hard this must be on her parents.

Might as well make one just to have it, especially with the ET rate, kwim? If things don't work out, they are easy to cancel.

I liked being there for the Halloween party so the kids could dress up and trick or treat more then once.
They were able to wear their costumes three times last October. Once to the DCA Halloween party, again to the school costume parade and party, and finally on Halloween night. Made me feel like I got my money's worth on the costumes!! LOL!

Cheryl, so happy to read the good news about your mom this morning. I hope she continues to recover quickly and easily. I know you were wanting to take her on that cruise, so I hope that can happen for her.

Dan just ran to Home Depot (needs to fix a leaky faucet), and I told him to grab me some LGMH! :) I'm packing today. Just finished trying on all my outfits, but now I see I need to plan for a rainy day as well. Hmmm, I think capri's and crocs might be a good idea for rain.

I still have to get to Target for my Dum-Dums and a few extra toiletries. Probably tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow -- It's supposed to be 90 freaking stinking hot degrees here tomorrow, so I will be so happy to see cooler weather next week in Anaheim.

Ick!! Wow, y'all are really hot already. We are perfect here, in the mid 70's. I do know that will be changing before long though.....

Hey, have you stayed in the HoJo rooms that are the: Nqq3/Balc/Ns/2 Queens/5 People Max/ Standard/Highway Side/Fridge/ Coffee Maker/Hairdryer/Internet ??
Are they nice? Small? Older? :confused3

You're right! I will make one on Monday!.:thumbsup2

OMG - by this time tomorrow, I should be just about checking in at the hotel :woohoo: :woohoo: I better finished getting ready then...........

Cheryl - good to hear your mom is doing well. I'll leave Ariel's as is and if you feel like it at the time, you're good to go :thumbsup2

(glad to hear your mom was hungry...great sign)

Re: a question someone posed last night:

I looked on the DL site last night and I'm still not clear about what is allowed in the parks. It used to be that no outside food or drink could come in, they set aside a picnic area before you got inside DL. And if you look on other sites (maybe even this one), they also say something to that effect. But has that policy changed? I know there is a bag search before you go inside the parks, but I could not find an answer.

I'm now wondering if you can bring in your water bottle? I"m rushed today (pre-birthday madness) but if I can a chance before Thurs I will call them.

Theresa - see my PM.
