Hi girls!!! Just a quick check in.........we are packed and ready to go tomorrow morning!!!! I am so happy that I'm not going to be packing at midnight this time. :thumbsup2
I sent a message to Callie to see about getting some extra waters to you guys. We are getting a case from Costco tomorrow when we get our AP's and I'm positive we're going to have quite a few left. I just wasn't sure how to get them to you guys. We leave on Saturday afternoon so maybe we can coordinate a time to meet up at the crosswalk or something? Load someones backpack? We're staying at the Park Vue so we're right at the crosswalk anyway. I'm going to send Callie my cell phone number so hopefully she can text me and we can figure something out. It won't hurt my feelings if you guys don't want them........I just know there's going to be extra and wanted to make sure someone was able to use them.

Anyway........I hope to see many of you in the park! I've got my LGMH's ready to go and I'll be on the lookout for the DIVA shirts! I'm sure I'll see some of you at the CC on Friday. Our PS is for 3:30 and I think you guys start coming in a little after 4. Hopefully we can score a quick photo moment too!!! I may not be a full part of the diva group this year but just call me a Diva in training!!!

See you soon!

Oh, and planning for the mini meet in April

Please tell more about this one! I am going to get my AP on Monday (using my free birthday ticket value of $69 toward it). I was going to get the cheapest one for residents. It has a lot of blackout dates, including many school holiday weeks and almost all weekends. So what date/dates in April
is the mini-meet?:dance3:

According to micechat and a recent post by a CM here (at least I think glendalais is a CM), it seems that Disneyland: The The First 50 Magical Years is going on hiatus after March 15th through the fall sometime.

So if anyone is a fan of the movie or, gasp, hasn't seen the movie...you might want to take a little time to see it. I know I'll be trying to work it in...it was sort of the last nail in my Disney-Cynic coffin. It's totally worth the time! (if you walk in right before it starts it's, hmm, 20 minutes? but I always seem to walk in just after they've seated a group, so I get to spend around 40 minutes waiting...they have memorabilia to look at, though!)

It's a movie starring Donald Duck and Steve Martin (who worked at Disneyland in the magic shop!), and it plays in the Opera House, which is towards the start of Main Street.

So cool that you'll have an AP (and a gift card!).

I think Ruben and my Robert would get along very well...they both understand the disney madness in us!

Chalk Dave up as another one who gets it! He may not be as obsessed as I am, but he does a great job of tolerating and sometimes even encouraging it!

There are quite a few of us that are going to be at DLR during the weekend of April 24-26th for various reasons. We have not made any official plans yet, but I am hoping that we can meet up for a meal or something on Saturday the 25th.

Molly, I would love to join you for this. I have always wanted to see the 50 years movie and with one thing or another I have never made it. Thus, given the news that Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is coming back, that moved seeing the movie to the top of my list as it's now my last chance!

I wanna go in October too! :cool1: My birthday is October 24 so I can tell Ruben that's what I want for my b-day.
When was everyone planning?

OH!! And guess what?!?!?!?!?!? :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
I was planning to buy a 5 day park hopper for this trip but I won't need one now! Ruben secretly called his mom and arranged for her to go to Costco and get me a Deluxe Annual Pass! (the one with the $50 gift card!) So now I have an AP again!!!!!! It just arrived in the mail today. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

That sounds good, mini-meet on Beth's birthday!

Yeah! That is wonderful and I wish you many happy return trips to the Land:)
I really want to go on my bday too. It is 09/09/09. Shouldn't I be at DL celebrating with the 999 ghosts?

Molly,
I'm not bringing anything either! We can be losers together. I want to see that movie!

Dawn, Don't you want to be in red for the VIP tour???? Doesn't everyone look great in red?

Wow...I had not gotten that connection before. :headache: This year is even bigger then for HM!

Speaking, sort of, of HM, I finally saw Nightmare Before Christmas. And...I just don't understand why people like it. Songs are too long, can't understand some of the voices, creepy weird scary images....

But at least I understand HMH a bit better now.

And DS *loved* loved loved it. And now he wants to go on it. But I told him that if he can go on that version, he can go on the normal version, and he agreed.

Of course, he's only 4, and can't sign legally binding documents. And if he could, I'd have him sign the statements he's been making recently...like "but I don't want to leave you and papa when I'm a grownup, I want to stay with you!" and "I will love you forever and ever" and things like that. He's in a super-sweet mode right now and I'm loving it. Anyway, so once all those were signed, then I'd have him sign the "I will go on HM and give it a good shot" form. :upsidedow

And in Disney, but not DLR or this trip news, we're now heavily into figuring out then whens and wheres of our very first WDW trip! I ask you...HOW do you EVER figure out where to stay on your very first trip???? This is far far worse than figuring out where to stay Sept '07 for our first big family staying-over DLR trip. And then...split stay? Which place first? Package or a la carte? Or go crazy and rent points and stay at DVC?

Aughhhhhh!

I need a trip to DLR.

Hey!

So I think I'm going to let my AP expire and then buy a new Deluxe AP because the monthly payments are less than if I were to renew my AP.

But I also have to figure in the price of adding parking.

Thankfully I will be getting paid for my city work March 12th. I'll be saving that cash for the monthly payments. I was just not going to get another AP but then I realized I will be at CSUF this fall and I'll be so close that it'll kill me to NOT go to DL.

Yay for Disneyland APs!

Just FYI, the cost of a deluxe plus parking is only about 35 dollars less than the Premium. I already checked it out.

Don't tempt me! :wizard:

Come on, you know you wanna!!!!! :rotfl2:

How funny, that's when DH and I were thinking about going on our next Disneyland trip with our boys. We were there for Halloween two years ago (and actually went to the Halloween Party at DCA on Halloween night) and had an awesome time! It was so much fun, and such a great trip.....I dare say, it was magical! :wizard: :cloud9: :wizard:

It is a great time. We're bringing my sister and her two sons along (it's their first visit :woohoo:) so FUN times!

I wanna go in October too! :cool1: My birthday is October 24 so I can tell Ruben that's what I want for my b-day.

We're going October 8-12 (the kids get a long weekend for Thanksgiving then, so not much time out of school).

Ruben sounds like a keeper!! That is such an awesome gift :thumbsup2

Donna - you mean this Monday???? Monday, March 2??? That is my birthday too!!!! I'm coming in on Monday and getting my $69 gift card too! Woo hoo for March 2 :woohoo:

How did you figure that?

The renew price for a premium AP is $369 (that's w/ the discount for renewing) and a deluxe w/ parking only costs $308 (also with discount) That's $61. Unless I'm mistaken?

Is that BIZARRE???? Although they say if you get 25 people in a room, that two of them will have the same month and day of birth. But still... two Pisces, same exact day... wow. :thumbsup2

I don't have an AP yet, so they will let me apply the $69 to the new AP!
Cheshiregirl, thanks for giving me the mini-meet dates!

Quick question!

I'm trying to save some money on drinks ($2.69 for a NON-refillable cup is RIDIQULOUS!) are cans allowed in the park?

If so, I'll be carrying a six pack of coke zero :rotfl:

I love the part about contracts with your DS... :)

This is long so skip out now if you're not interested...

HM 09/09/09:

HM is having a wonderful event on 09/09/09. Unfortunately, they accepted requests for tickets when I was out of the country. And they sold out in ten minutes. It is going to be this incredible opportunity because they are selling (via lottery) very very limited wonderful goodies like gargoyle bookends and I think even a charm bracelet (I collect them). I mean limited like only 200 or only 100 and sometimes less. And yet the prices are like $99, etc.

Anyway, as a lifelong HM fan it kills me that I won't be there. The waiting lists are full as well.

WDW:

We just had our first ever WDW trip and you are so right, the planning is like 100x worse than DL. Because we know DL so well, we picked Beach Club Resort for the promixity to Epcot. It had just been remodeled as well! There is a quiz at about.com where you answer several questions and it comes back with the best resort for you. It really works.

Packages are more cost-efficient, but we couldn't do that. We were stuck with certain dates because we were returning from the Galapagos. So we paid the same for 4 nights as others paid for 7 nights...

Anyway, this board and a Passporter book and signing up for Tour Guide Mike's service really helped me.

My mom and i will be at Disneyland for her birthday Oct. 23rd.
