Does anyone remember A-Smile jeans and overalls? They came in all these soft colors like pink, blue, and green......and they had an upsidedown icecream cone emblem on them. I used to love those when I was in school.

Hey! I remember those! I had a pair of purple A-Smile overalls. They were soooo cute!

I remember saving up my paper route money for months so I could buy an Esprit outfit (mini skirt and top). My mom was a single-mom, so I had to buy all my own clothes if I didn't want to wear clothes from the "donated clothing room" at the church.

Welcome Terrie. You will have a GREAT time!

I went for the first time with my mom as well this year and we stayed by ourselves as well. I would have liked to stayed at the same hotel for the convenience sake but mom couldn't walk that far so we stayed at one a little closer to the park and also she likes to have her own room as well so it all worked out ok. You will really enjoy this group of gals and have a BLAST!

NOW to you DIS girls!! I can get in a HUGE dicsussion about all the old fashions LOL.

I remember MOST of that stuff.

In the 70's when I was in grade school it was all the old stuff that is back in style now like the hip huggers and bell bottoms. I had lots of bells and the bigger the bell the better and do any of you remember those big combs that were plastic and we used to stick them in the back of our pockets. They had like kind of a big comb part with a great big sculpted round handle and you were REALLY cool if you had a black or red one.

Then of course I had sailor pants and the pants that tied up the middle in the front and back. I had the dr. school wooden shoes and the mocassins. The baby doll sandals. Oh jeez I could go on and on. LOVED Loves Baby Soft I mean that was IT!

And yes Air Supply and Reo Speed Wagon were the big Make out bands. Of course Queen was pretty big back then too! The 70's and early 80's was my era so I could talk about the styles and the music for hours LOL. I remember dittos and how about the rainbow t-shirts WITH your dittos or your coulottes? And your ponchos? And remember Lee jeans or just plain old 501's. Everything in the 80's had to be SKIN tight. How about Jordache! LOL! Or Gloria Vanderbilt? And when you talk about the platform shoes remember Candies?

Oh I could go on and on LOL. Don't even get me started on the hair!

Ahhh i remember those cute overalls you all are talking about! with the little upside down ice cream cone..yeah yeah:yay:

Acually I think that's what I was wearing in my 5th grade class picture.:goodvibes

I remember those big plastic combs that everyone (us "cool" kids) had in their back pockets. We used to play "Bloody Knuckles" with those big combs on the bus.

I still LOVE plain old Levi button-fly 501's. They just don't love me anymore. Where has the love gone? (sigh) ;)

"Panties" and "weenies" in one day? Wow, this thread is going in a whole new direction!

I had a pair of those overalls!! I had penny loafers, Jelly shoes (I actually bought a pair 2 summers ago, so not comfy!! My fellow bartender & I wore them to work one night, well for about an hr anyway), swatch, hypercolor t-shirt and BUM equipment. Most of the items were bought by me (from babysitting, no wonder I am not very fond of kids now...:lmao: )
or my aunts or my grandma. Like Callie, my mom was a single mommy with 4 kids. Things were always tight.

OOOHHH...I love Reo Speedwagon!!!

Hey now hey now....at least you have a tag!! I'm still tagless!!

Of course I was at the ice skating rink, Dawn.
And my favorite song was...S-A-TUR-DAY Night! S-A-TUR-DAY Night! Do you remember the Bay City Rollers? They were the hot ticket at the rink. Of course the "slow songs" where they dimmed the lights and boys and girls held hands were what we really waited for. Hopefully the cute kid you've been eyeing asks you to skate....TG I am an old married woman now!

And I remeber Hang Ten clothing. Super cute in the day. Maybe cause I grew up here in So Cal, we had different brands?

Oh and Panties & Weenies, honestly girls!

The summer before freshman year I worked cleaning houses to earn money to buy some Guess clothes. I didn't want to start high school not looking cool. :cool2:

OMG, the hair!! I had so many different styles and went through countless cans of Aqua Net.
I don't know what this look was called, but it was scary.

YES! Those hypercolor tees were the best. And everyone had Swatch watches. :thumbsup2 And I was totally in love with George Michael, Duran Duran, Tiffany and Jake Ryan. :rotfl2:

Hi Trudi - thanks for the link on the parade. :thumbsup2

Of course this 48 year old remembers click-clacks and chinese jump ropes;) As far as pants go, we were not allowed to wear them until junior high. It was dresses only. But once I could, I loved Dittos. Courderoy dittos especially. And if you had a big butt, you were in trouble with those pants! Luckily, everything large on me is in the front (belly, chesticles...). :rotfl2: Add a spray of Love's baby soft and I'm ready for a date! Speaking of, can you believe Miley Cyrus' 20 year old underwear-model lives with her?:scared1: I guess when you have a bajillion dollars you can do what you want.

You're welcome. I'm a few years older than you - 53 - but I had click-clacks and I was really good with them. They were made out of hard resin, I guess now they'd be considered a weapon. LOL We weren't allowed to wear pants til 8th grade, but no blue jeans til 9th.

You owe me one. ;)
