Hi all,

Catching up on this thread and feeling like I want to die!! Picked up some stomach bug over the weekend that is not fun at all. Made it through 6 hours of work purely because I hadn't eaten since yesterday. tried some chicken noodle when I got home which was NOT a good move...lol.

But since I don't feel like doing anything (even though I really should catch up on school) I've had a great time catching up on lots of DIS threads for the past few days.

And...only because you will all understand my madness....am I crazy to be thinking about purchasing some add on points at BLT when I just bought into DVC at VGC??? I swear the planning has made me insane, and I am plotting out trips for the next few years already, and thinking the 220 points I started with won't really be enough and I should add on 100 more at BLT also.

Just trying to figure out a way to talk to the hubby about it..lol. I used a bonus I received at work for VGC so that was easier to rationalize.

I have just returned from my trip to california.. we went to Huntington Library and Gardens.. it was so BeautifuL!
What a special day... Loved the Lincoln exhibit.. What a lyrical writer he was. The gardens are lovely and the statuary enchanting, I'll have to take my mother sometime..she would love it.

Dawn, I live in California, and have wanted to see the Huntington Library for the longest time. One of these days, I just need to do it. Glad you had a wonderful time.

Mel I LOVE LOVE the Phantom too and I SOOO want to see it in Vegas. I saw it in SF the only time I saw it and while it was good I would LOVE To see it in Vegas!

Capri I am sorry about your dad. That doesn't sound good at all. I hope he starts feeling better now that he is home!

Lynn's good friend got in touch with Shane again and she is truly disgusted. She said that Lynn has now pierced her belly button and nose herself and that is SO bad. SO dangerous and just NOT good. Her friend also said that the guy that she was originally obsessed over she is somehow black mailing or whatever and having issues with the guys girlfriend and that he is considering calling the cops on her which would actually be a good thing because it would get her turned in and off the streets.

It is just nuts! She is digging herself and deeper and deeper hole. She told us that she was upset and was going to send exercepts of these e-mails of why she felt the way she did but then never did.

She hasn't talked to her dad in a few days so we don't know. Anyway like always all we can do is just wait and see.

Anyway tomorrow I have my doc apt and then the rest of the day just more cleaning.

On my knee. I slipped on the ice & tore my MCL. From being a reformed, very large girl , my knee is shot. I am in PT right now to see if it will get better on its own, but it seems to be getting worse.
Ya I am ok. I stopped taking the pain med tho, it made all silly & retarded!!

Please leave your house for your Mom to take care of. You are going to get yourself sicker and sicker if you don't take it easy. And now with all of the stress in your life, it is going to start taking a huge toll on your body!!!! If my DD was in your situation, I would count it as a pleasure to help her out as much as I could. If I were to find out, that she was doing too much, that would stress me out worrying about her. So please let Mom come in and help you! Ok.........enough lecture! Take care!

Hi all!! I'm just stopping by to check in and tell everyone I miss you and wish we were going to DLR again really soon!! I'll be there will Kelly and her family next week, though, so I feel spoiled.
I'm off to Vegas with DH today. It's our anniversary (15th)/b-day (40)/b-day (40)/Meet friends from MN who will be there for a convention trip. We're going totally cheap this time, staying at Circus Circus and no big shows, but we're going!!! Flying even, thanks to a 39 rate from southwest.
Should be interesting, though. Back is still having spasms, not too bad, but enough to make sleep difficult and can't sit very long. And, guess who came to visit last night....yep, Aunt Flo! GRRRR!!! So much fun. Seems like I can't plan anything around it, she was visiting during the Ladies Trip, too. I thought I had until the weekend at least!

What sort of language is this?? The only BLT I know of is a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, and I'm pretty sure that's not what you're talking about. Well, whatever it is or means, good luck and congrats on buying DVC.

Meanwhile, say a little prayer for me... our state legislature is supposedly voting tomorrow as to whether or not they will be substantially raising the cost of our health care (while reducing coverage of course) AND making everyone take a pay cut in our base salary.

Since both Dave and I work for state schools this could be devastating to our family budget--ie no more Premium APs and cancellation of all our trips that I have already planned and booked for the next year. But, beyond the personal impact, this could be devastating for the state of Nevada. There are so many families here that are just getting by. I look at one of my colleagues who is supporting a wife and two young kids (3 and 1.5) on 39K a year. I really don't know how they would survive on less... Here's to hoping that the politicians for once look out for their constituents!

I do not see how you could possibly be held accountable for her actions given all of your efforts to help her. Oh, Capri, what a horrible bug you all have been fighting. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Molly, I think you are a tremendous advocate and friend. Did I tell you how nice it was to meet you on the trip? I do have to say, I always pictured you as taller in my head though. Michelle, have a wonderful time in Vegas. Oh January, sorry to read about your challenges. I don't know what the specifics are, and sometimes it is better to end some things quickly, but in general, marriage can be hard and those rough patches can be gotten through. It is tough to be in that situation though, so hugs to you! Calli, good luck to you if you enter the market again. My best advise to keep your torture to a minimum is to price it at, or just below market value, or just stay off the market. A good strategy is to determine what price you think is likely, and then go out and view what else a buyer could buy for that same amount, then make sure that your condition and price makes your home one of the first to sell. (Although I am a realtor, I think being on the market sucks! Too hard to keep the house clean all the time and manage the dog and the kids etc.) Sorry if I missed anyone...no intentional slight. I am completly wrapped up in baseball season and work and just trying to stay afloat of the rest of the house and dog stuff. I should already be at work, but have been playing hooky waiting for the traffic to die down. The wind is blowing like crazy today and it is freezing. I can't believe how cold it has been and it is miserable out there watching the games, but it is really fun too. Those baseball people just love that game so much, it is funny! I feel for your colleague but just wanted to say it can be done. We get about that, and we have six in our family! It's not fun though and it is stressful to worry about money all the time, so hopefully it won't happen.

I am completly wrapped up in baseball season and work and just trying to stay afloat of the rest of the house and dog stuff.

Yes, I totally know what you mean. I was only kidding when I said that. At least for me anyway. My family has never done a cruise either and there is no way I could go without them.
In fact, 2011 is the year Ruben and I both turn 40 and we are hoping against hope to do an Alaskan cruise. Not sure if it will happen, but if it does, I will be skipping any ladies trips that year. So I'll go in 2010, skip 2011, and then go again in 2012. If we are still doing them by then that is.

I agree with Capri on this one! My family all wants to do a Disney cruise so bad that I couldn't even consider going on one without them.
At least now it will be a little cheaper - no airfare for six to get there. Just drive down to LA! Of course they are still SO expensive!
