Hi Capri!

Sounds like your Mom and Dad are coming home too early if it is still snowing!!

I hope your Dad is OK. I know he has been pretty ill right? You are a good DD to get them some groceries to come home to.

Ryan sure has been a sick little boy. Poor thing. Keep shoving the food at him. Give him ice cream and all kinds of things he likes, just to get some calories in him. Maybe not the best advice in the world, but I'm sure he has lost alot of weight. :guilty: I remember when kids used to have their tonsils out, and they always would get to have ice cream to their hearts content. Now a days, they don't even take tonsils out anymore. Anyways, I know you are doing everything the best you can do. Take care!

They were getting homesick, so they decided to come up before it warmed up. They're happy to be home despite the cold.

My dad is just okay. He does look pretty bad. He's gained so much weight, and his arms and hands are covered in BIG black bruises and scabs from itching them non-stop. Actually this is related to him gaining weight.....he's been receiving steriod shots to help alleviate his itching, but the steriods make him hungry and so he's eating a lot more now.

He also has to use a walker to get around now.

And Capri, I also hope your Dad is doing okay.
Thanks babe! He's alright for an old timer.

As long as you're getting liquids down him, that's what matters. He may feel his system needs to rest. Glad he's feeling better!

Water, water, water.....that's all he wants.

Morning all. I am currently at work. I went over to Lynn's school and turned in her textbooks. Got that all done and then went to counseling and asked what they suggested and they recommended dropping her for now. The new semester just started and she missed enough school that she basically flunked out of all her classes last semester. And since she isn't here to start this last semester she is dropped from the rolls. Then I went to pick up the mail and I promptly got 4 letters from the district saying she was truant and if we didn't clear it up we were subject to jail time and yadda yadda. I was livid since I TOLD the stupid principal she was a runaway and gave him the police report number etc. So after spending over an hour on the phone with the attendance office, the VP of the school AND the district office, HOPEFULLY it is resolved.

Here in CA you can only miss 3 days unexcused before the parents are subject to jail time. So hopefully it won't come back to haunt us but we shall see.

Anyway they also told us that IF she comes back we can decide but she will most likely have to go to continuation school because she won't be allowed back at her school. She WILL have to repeat this past semester which means she will be behind all her friends etc so she won't be able to graduate with them now.

Who knows. Anyway it's been a crazy morning but anyway I am just glad it is over with. At least the books are turned in so it is one less thing I have to worry about.

Still no word from her or any ideas. Mom and I are about to step out for some lunch. Sounds like everyone is having a good day. Take care and see you all later. :)

Hope you had a nice lunch with your mom. I'm always thinking about you!

Someone else *hint hint* already told us what the gift was. I'm sure you didn't see it. ;) It didn't sound like much of a 'substantial gift' to me either. Back in 2003, we did the pay for 4 days get 7 days free thingy at WDW, and received a VERY nice matted and framed litho of Donald through a tuba with a matching pin. (It was in honor of Philharmagic opening up.) You would think it would be at least that nice. I'm sorry you were disappointed.
Yeah I blabbed first about the lithograph but never got the pin yet. Did th epin come separate?

You know, if they're going to have a party with the Tag Fairy they should really invite us. ;) :rotfl:
I agree and they should have jello shots for Stacey and gluten free pizza for me. I wonder what they do while the boards are down.

I used to be the head moderator and only adult running a VMK board. When someone really made me mad I edited their posts, lol. "I am sorry for having triple posted nonsense." I was the dragon lady there, lol. Maybe that is why the site is defunct.

Back from the nap and waiting on meds so I can snack. Also waiting and hoping Bavaria does not quit disboards after 8 years all because the hate speech against fat people and ECVs.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:Hugs for Kelley for being such a loving person. Over and over online I see kids who to bad things and they do not realize the outcome of their actions or how it affects the community around them especially family. I have saved a few kids but am losing another. Toller was one who was diebetic teen and would just eat and eat then shoot the insulin. I got her to eat better and live healthy so that they even lowered her insulin. I will keep you in my prayers and heart.

I hope the sick divas get well soon.:grouphug:

Hi everyone!

Sneaking in a hello to you. Wondering if Beth took pity on Capri before she totally wastes away to nothing. ;)

For those of you who went on the Segway tour - I have two videos to share - should I wait to add them to the trip reports, or do you want to see them now? It's basically Wendy & Callie learning how to use a Segway. (Note to self - take more videos)

Also, I saw Jessica in City Hall, & spoke to Liz on the phone today. They both remembered our group. :goodvibes ... especially when I reminded Liz of our falling member. ;)

That's all for now! I hope to see you tomorrow Callie, but understand if you can't. Stacie, be there or be square. We're looking forward to seeing you.

Heather

I'll see you tomorrow, call me when you get to the Mills. And Callie, if you can come, call me as well on my cell phone. I'm going to leave my house between 2 and 2:30, so if I get there too early I can shop!

OK - how sad is it that I'm the only one around right now????? :sad2: I will share my most terrible miscalculation with you all anyway! Today I made a very yummy barbecued pork roast for pulled pork sandwiches for dinner - yum!! However, I also made a very tasty coleslaw and baked beans to go with it. Yes, you heard me right........ cabbage and beans at the same time - with TWO GUYS in the house :scared1: Lordy, what was I thinking??? :confused3 I believe it's going to be a loud evening here :rolleyes1
I guess I shouldn't have had that cabbage salad for lunch, since we are having BBQ tri tip and baked beans for dinner tonight!:scared1:

Hi everyone!!

Here's my update:

Last night at California Grill was a disaster!! I ended up sitting at an area called the Chef's Table--and was totally ignored by my waiter. Awful! The food wasn't bad--but the bad service ruined it. More details later.

I have tried uploading photos---but it's hard on this laqptop. I'll try again tomorrow.

Today was a much better day. Started out raining--let up a liitle around 10:30 am so I left for Epcot. Started pouring agqain on the bus there. Stopped again until I got in the park--then it poured for about 20 minutes. Then it pretty much quit for the rest of the day, and later got sunny and warm. The flower and garden show is on--beautiful topiaries. I have pics. They did a great job! Later I had dinner at Les Chefs de France. It more than made up for last night. I had the prix fixe dinner--onion soupe, salmon with ratatouille and profiteroles. The yummiest part was the waiter--Jeremy. Sigh--if only I was 30 years younger (mmm...maybe even 20). I sent Stacielee a pic from my phone--and yes, I am wearing my birthday button so Jeremy sang Joyeux Anniversaire to me!

Got reaaalllyyyy cold tonight, so I came back around 8:30. Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow yet--I'll let you know.

Molly--if I ever have surgery again I'm flying you down here!

Kelly: hugs to you.

Everyone else--hope you had a great weekend!

Cheryl
That stinks abot CA Grill! But I'm glad to hear you're having a nice time and wearing your birthday button.

I got back from our three day trip to DL at around 4 today!! The parks were packed, but unlike Cristabel, I had a good time. Friday I was at the park with a good friend and her two daughters and my DD8. We got in early, (not AmySue early, but shortly after opening). Apparently when you caravan with friends who tend to drive the speed limit, you can't go 80!!!!!

My friends have AP's too and get the whole FP and walking with purpose thing. So we rode SM, IASW, HM, Winnie, the monorail, and then headed over to CA for lunch and then stayed over there. They had never done Bug's life or Heimlich, so we dilly-dally around pretty much avoiding the crowds. We finished our day with the three FP's we had gathered, Soarin, SM and IJ. Saw the firworks, they drove back to San DIego, and my Dd and I walked to our hotel. We stayed at Desert Inn.

It was totally fine. However, staying there made me think about our consideration about switching hotels for the meet next year. We really need to think about parking. Desert only had one space per room and even that was dicey. Also, you need to get your car out of the lot by 2PM on the day you check out. Our room this year had 4 carsat the HoJo and it was no problem.
Also, I had devil's own time pulling out of the driveway of the Desert about any time of day due to the traffic, foot and car. People are constantly streaming by in the crosswalk, Hojo's entry into the side street, then the light....much much much easier!!!

Saturday we just played in the pitiful ugly indoor pool, shopped at downtown disney and went to the movies...really fun relaxing day. I even got a lot of my book read, and spelling and book report--finished.

Today we were there at rope drop, did PP!!! Twice!!!! Grabbed fast passes, did most of fantasyland and thens pent an hour or so on Tom Sawyer's Island. We had never done that.

Around 2, we had HAD it, major crowds, and the DD seems to be getting sick, so we smooth sailed it back home.

I didn't see Stacie or Cristabel, but honestly...ZOO!!!!!

THe trip would have totally stunk if I didn't have an AP. Then we would have felt very pressured to DO everything. This way..we took it easy.

As easy as I can,anyway!!

God bless the AP!
I agree about Desert Inn. Parking can be scary there, and it is not totally gauranteed that you will even have a spot in their lot. Hojos will always be my first choice, especially with the Ent. Rate.

I am so jealous!! And for everyone, here's the picture Cheryl sent me:

Cheryl.jpg

Definitely a cutie!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Ohh la la!

I loved the Block Party Bash! That was one of my faves. The Pixar one is alright. My all time fave was the "Lion King" parade. I used to watch it almost everytime I went to the parks. Loved it.

I love the Lion King parade. And it was fun to see parts of those floats at the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom.

Kelly, you so deserve your trip next week!

Well, I've had an interesting day. I worked out at the pool this morning, adn then Marty and I had a meeting at a party rental place in town, just to see what they offer, so we can use them in the future. But I ended up not going with him, because our friend called to ask if I could pick her daughter up from the school nurse. When I got there, they had her laying on a mat in the office. No fever, she jsut said her throat hurt. On the way home, she threw up all over my car:scared1::scared1::scared1: I live less than 5 minutes from the school, but she just couldn't make it. So I've spent the afternoon cleaning vomit from my car. Good times..........

Sneaking in a hello to you. Wondering if Beth took pity on Capri before she totally wastes away to nothing. ;)

Also, I saw Jessica in City Hall, & spoke to Liz on the phone today. They both remembered our group. :goodvibes ... especially when I reminded Liz of our falling member. ;)

Of course we want to see them! Whatever is easier for you, of course.

I guess I shouldn't have had that cabbage salad for lunch, since we are having BBQ tri tip and baked beans for dinner tonight!:scared1:

Then it's going to be a rootin, tootin good evening at the BillyFan house tonight :thumbsup2 Dinner sounds great though (I don't want to cook :sad2:) But we're going for sushi tomorrow night, so I guess I should scare up something.......

Oh, I forgot, Mel, my mother arrives Friday. :scared1: This house is no where near ready for a guest. I plan on taking her to try sushi for the first time. I'm interested to see if she likes it.

I'm excited to see Stacie tomorrow, and reat at the Rainforest. Nathan loved it last time. I also want to check out the Stride Rite outlet. I love buying shoes...

OK, that's all for now.

Heather

Oh, and Tina! What a good friend you are. You deserve extra friend points for that...

<---- It looks like the Tag fairy had some fun with me
:rolleyes1

Lol. That's a good one.

Just a quick Hi to you all. I'll try to come back tonight if I'm not too busy....Otherwise I'll be on tomorrow night (it's not as busy as tonight is).

Take care, talk to you all soon.

Hi. No biggie, as it was a gift. But certainly not as nice as yours because it is not framed. And there's no pin.

On another subject,

Anyone here a Mac expert?:confused3

And has anyone put in a res for a Disneyland resort before? Do they charge your card ahead of time for one night?

Hi guys!

MaryJo just posted that the boards will be down again tonight at 7:00pm Pacific time.
I guess it is all good, cuz things aren't quite right yet.
Thanks for that info.

Oh man, poor guy. That doesn't sound fun at all.

Oh no! I hate that. When the kids were little that happened more times then I care to remember.

:rotfl2: Funny.

So, maybe in 2011 the ladies trip should be on a cruise!! ;)

Disney Cruise Line has confirmed what we have been speculating for some time now, that one of the Disney Cruise ships, the Disney Wonder, will be repositioned to the West Coast in 2011.

Disney Cruise Line has signed a multi-year arrangement with the Port of Los Angeles.

Moving the Disney Wonder from Port Canaveral Florida to the Port of Los Angeles makes room for one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ships, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, to sail out of Port Canaveral Florida.

No itineraries have been announced yet for the Disney Wonder out of LA or the two new Disney Cruise Line vessels.

Hi all,

Catching up on this thread and feeling like I want to die!! Picked up some stomach bug over the weekend that is not fun at all. Made it through 6 hours of work purely because I hadn't eaten since yesterday. tried some chicken noodle when I got home which was NOT a good move...lol.

But since I don't feel like doing anything (even though I really should catch up on school) I've had a great time catching up on lots of DIS threads for the past few days.

And...only because you will all understand my madness....am I crazy to be thinking about purchasing some add on points at BLT when I just bought into DVC at VGC??? I swear the planning has made me insane, and I am plotting out trips for the next few years already, and thinking the 220 points I started with won't really be enough and I should add on 100 more at BLT also.

Just trying to figure out a way to talk to the hubby about it..lol. I used a bonus I received at work for VGC so that was easier to rationalize.

Hope you are all having a great week!
