Boy is this site moving slow.
Yes, it is for me too.

Years later.. with the distance from pain.. i think we fought so hard to keep him alive because we didn't want to let him go. If i had to do it again.. i would let him go so he wouldn't have to go through all that.
That's so hard, but I can understand not wanting to let go.

Well, just a bit ago we got a call from the school. Luke is sick too. Justin had to go pick him up, and he's now home looking pale as can be with a fever and a tummy ache. :sad2:

He was perfectly fine this morning.....his usual happy, bouncing off the walls self. A couple hours later.....BAM! His kindergarten teacher said she was sick with it all weekend and that it hit her like a cement truck. Great.
Oh boy, let the fun begin. I know what you are going through. We've been there many times in this family. Once one gets it, it makes the rounds with everyone. :sad2:
I just hope you don't get it. Nothing more difficult then taking care of a sick kid when all you want to do is lay in bed. Hang in there and I hope everyone gets over it quickly.

Morning everyone!

Ah, that explains it. I don't drink coffee.

Me neither. Will have a rare decaf, but no real caff. No Diet Cokes after 3. Like Dawn, I love coffee-flavored things though. Dawn, will try to resend.

Here is a pic of him, my baby brother, after his rugby game on Saturday.

Hottie city!
Looks a bit like Michael Madison (I think that was his name) when he first hit the scene. I think he was in Res Dogs. Does your bro ever get that comment?

Chery - I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I'm hope he gets better.

Well, just a bit ago we got a call from the school. Luke is sick too.

Cheryl, I agree with you. It was unprofessional of the first vet to call. I had the same treatment when I was getting other opinions. One place wanted to do an ultrasound. It felt like pushing their services to me when they called to see if I was going to do this ultrasound (in a facility where my cat was totally freaked by being with large dogs in the back room and has never gotten over his fear of vets now).

I am thinking of you.

Dawn~ I want a BULLDOG so BAD!!! I just really can't bring myself to
spend that kind of money on one. Someday....and I want to name her
Matilda.

Debra, that is a GREAT name for a bulldog! Love those mushy faces.

Disney in NY had an event where they sold artist one of a kind Vinylmations for around $600. :scared1: They only had like 8 or so. Guess what? That night four of them were on Ebay (three from one seller) with reserves for over twice as much. So far, I think they haven't sold, which pleases us collectors very much.

Now we hear they're whining on the internet that they're just making an honest living and they don't get why everyone hates them.:lmao: What, scalpers gettin' no respect? :rotfl:

It just amazes me how much they DON'T give a rip. I learned this the LAST time she ran away. They take the attitude that all teens come home eventually but HELLO what if she was one that was kidnapped or murdered. I would hate to be the parents of one that was REALLY in danger. It is SO sad for those that truly ARE in trouble cuz you will get NO help from the cops and your kids are out of luck because of all these other stupid teens that pull this crap.

I told Lynn you better hope that you never DO need help because you WON'T get it because the cops DON'T care. They know you are a runaway and they figure you are on your own. They aren't even REALLY looking that hard. Even last time when I FOUND her we had to go in and get her ourselves because they wouldn't do it. The lack of help by the police is astounding.

Sounds like they are related to the San Jose cops who couldn't care less about my battered mom...would stand and goof with my father, who was the one with the fists, and never did anything but shake a finger at him.

Oh gracious. Trying to remember that he's your brother. And I'm married. And have little interest in being a stepmom (never have, it's a hard job even with good kids like me and my brother!). And he's younger than me. And even though I absolutely adore rugby players (and their musculature...generally a combo of sumo and soccer player), I see them as a head injury waiting to happen and my short time dating a rugby guy was enough for me. But yowza.

I cannot. I can't believe anyone who lives less than 2 hours away doesn't have an annual pass. But I know they exist (only 4 people of the 60+ at my work location have a pass)!

My brother and sister in law are in that category. I don't get it!

Oh, come on! He looks ok there, but honestly that pic and those clothes (lol) don't do him justice.

You mean...he looks even better in person? 'cuz I'm not having a problem with his shorts at all! (if you have nice legs (which means no chicken legs to me) you can get away with shorter than currently popular shorts with me)

OK I'll stop, sorry Stacerita, I hate when my friends would go on about my own brothers...though actually, Wendy, how old are you? I have the two half brothers who are nice strapping lads (the older is 25 and around 6'4", the younger is around 23 and just a bit shorter) and live in Aptos...maybe I should try to convince them to meet us at DLR sometime. ;) They both need nice girls in their lives! (though I'd need to make sure they have their acts together before they meet nice girls)

He everyone!

Just got into Vegas. See you soon Beth!

You guys have fun tonight--but we don't want to read about you in the paper (or on the Internet) tomorrow~

Hey, does anyone know how to manage their private message box? I want to clean out my inbox on Disboards before I go to Florida but have several I want to save--but can't figure out how to do that.

Also, for all you Internet gurus out there--is it just me or are junk mailers somehow able to "read" your other posts? I mean, I have a file that junk mail automatically goes into and it always amazes me that the names of the junk emailers often times match people I regularly correspond with--like today there was a Mary Jo--not exactly a common name. Is there someway they are matching the rest of my internet use to try to get me to open their messages?

Laurie..

I see that You have Emmanuel Baptist Mission on Your signature.

Are you active in your church? Do you have friends in your church group?
I know alot of the ladies in this thread are active in their church wednesday nights and sunday mornings. That would be a good way for you to meet people locally.

Molly you are too funny!!

Capri did you see that Gonzaga is in the Sweet 16??? I think on the news this morning that they said next year some of the games will be in Spokane.

Jen & Beth have fun!

The way you clean our your PM box is to click on the right of each message you wish to delete. Once you've put check marks there, then go to the bottom and it will have a box where you can click that you want to delete these messages (it's a pulldown menu so it might come up with something else like "move" first).

Then you hit okay or enter and those messages are deleted. Everything else will still be there.

A fast way to clean out the box is to delete your own send messages by switching folders. Let me know if any of this is not clear.

I have a question for someone else - since they have changed the board, I do not see how you can use the "ignore" button - because I can't see it anymore. How do you get there now? :confused3 Thanks.

Hey, we'll get Wendy hooked up yet!

:rotfl2: Don't think that's a problem.

I see Donna answered your PM question.

Go to UserCP at the upper left of your screen. Under Settings and Options, there is an Edit Ignore option. Click on that and you can add a name to the ignore list. :thumbsup2

I know I posted this morning, but it never showed up. :(

Anyway, I'm thinking of you all and praying for many of you. Just wanted you to know that. :)

Thanks--I do know how to delete--what I'm trying to do is save to another folder so it is no longer in in/sent folders?

I was very devoted to my church but when mom got sick I had to grow up. The church helped fix the house enough for mom to stay. The problem is that the pastor's family did not understand me and at that time I did not know I was a neurovariant. I cannot be up at 10 am when the only hours I get to sleep are from 6 am to 4 pm and 7 pm to midnight and 2 am to 5 am minus times mom wakes me up to get stuff. I love my church but I cannot help it if I pick at things and fidget.

As for the mission I love them and would do anything to help them. Anyone can come and hear some preaching then eat a meal plus there are beds for the men. Might fine eats at that and I once had thanksgiving with them.

Once my radiator was damaged and I had to stop there for water. They gave me my pretty little blankets and food and brotherly love. I had to do jury duty once and they let me park my car there and drove me to the courthouse. Often not paid and times are rough but they keep serving and being my friends. :thumbsup2:)

I got my Calvin and that is all I need for real friends. Don't need real friends, cost less to travel alone.

I need a money tree!

The car failed emissions, and so DH is getting it worked on now. Fun Fun!

I did have some fun doing internet shopping this morning though. I got the boys' Easter stuff, and I some clothes for Nathan. It's amazing how big he's getting. He's tall and skinny. I ended up getting him 4t tops and 2t shorts. Whatever works.

My mother is coming April 3rd for a week. I can't wait. I miss her so much. I need to find enough energy to clean though. I need to start today because I don't want Nathan's speech therapist reporting us tomorrow! DH has been trying to keep up, but it's not the same. ;)

Thanks for the prayers Calllie, I need all I can get!

There's a little bobcat that lives around here, and is always walking down the sidewalk. Nathan loves her, and laughs and laughs when he sees her. I just hope we never run into her when we are out. Javalinas use our sidewalk for their pleasure also. It connects part of the golf course to a ravine on the other side. I'm beginning to wonder what would happen if I run into those also. I guess all the grass and trees right here attract them. I want to put a bird feeder out for Nathan, but worry it will attract them even more. We will see.

OK, talk with you later!

Heather, I'll bet your mom would rather have you well than to have a tidy house. Of course you don't have energy to clean, you have mono!:lmao:;)

Bobcats, esp little ones, i don't think they're very aggressive but of course with babies, that's a different issue. What is a javalina?

BETH, thank you so much for that.
(edited to remove PM scare - yes, all my PMs are still there... Ah....)

BETH, thank you so much for that. But GUESS WHAT? It appears they have WIPED OUT my mail PM box!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Did this happen to everyone??? I had addresses, etc. in there.
Heather, Theresa, I need your addresses again - email is better.

LOL, I wondered what a javalina was too.

I thought my PM box was wiped out too--but if you click on Inbox it was still there--try that. It's weird though--it's showing old PMs as new.

And Dawn, I've tried accepting you as a "friend" but it won't let me!!! :sad2:

I hate upgrades.

A Javalina is a wild pig. They can have a temper.

I forgot that not everyone here lives in the desert! The first time I saw one walk past the living room window, I thought..."That sure is an ugly dog!" It took a moment for it to register.

Thanks--I do know how to delete--what I'm trying to do is save to another folder so it is no longer in in/sent folders?

Thank you for the PM tip! I do have it all!

So instead of deleting, you click on the messages you want to move (in the box on the right) - then at the bottom, instead of delete from the pull down menu, choose "move." and you can move to a different folder!

now i have a twitter question - anyone here twitter?

how do you send a message to the main twitter person without everyone else seeing it?

Oh, thank you for the photo! It reminds me a bit of a warthog I've seen in Africa. Do the javalinas hold their tails up when the run? (btw, warthogs are fairly harmless - I've walked by them, etc.)
