Hi girls! I just wanted to fly by to say hi. I've been super-busy since we got home, and have not had much time to post. I am finally cought up on all the chatter now, but it has taken days for me to do it!
Well it looks like if we can make the trip next year, my mom and I will have Marty wtih us, since we can't leave him home on his birthday. No worries though. He enjoys his alone time in the park, so we'll still be able to sneak off to do some girly stuff!
I hope everybody has a great day! We have three jobs tomorrow, so I'm off to Costco and Restaurant Depot to gather supplies.

Hi Tina Have fun at Costco!! I am hoping to be able to find a way to come next year too (depends on what I can come up with to do with the two Jesses). It will be my birthday too (and Donna's!!!) on the last day of the trip as well

ETA: Oh, speaking of pictures, I was thinking it would be fun to post pics of everyone going on the trip, even the newbies. Remember last time how I had the list of attendees with everyone's screen name and real name? Well, I was thinking we could improve on that by adding a little pic next to the name. Makes it even easier to know who you are chatting with online and it helps to feel like you already know the person when you finally meet on the trip. What do y'all think???

Hi Kristin... You know alot of the girls from the Wish thread area also on this thread.. so you will have that in common. You mentioned that You are going in october.. there is going to be a disboard girls only mini meet in october.. it will be with families.. so you might want to talk to the girls about that.. i don't know if my mom and i are going.. we are focusing on our Dec 4th trip with the family. You said you also had another trip around then.. is your 2nd trip in dec? if so we have another dec thread you are welcome to join where we are encouraging each other to save..and posting dates we are going and where we are staying.

Has anyone looked at the rates for staying onsite during the girls trip?
If so what were the rates for the three hotels? Is anyone staying onsite?

Also since not everyone is required to do the same things on the trip (as in a planned tour) you can customize it to fit your needs. Maybe skip some of the tours, or sit down meals to make it a little less expensive.

And unless it's a character meal, it is also possible to just order a salad, or just dessert even (having had non-dessert food before)...

My goodness...that's two of you, at least, whose families have always lived in one area even before the area was part of this country! I cannot even imagine.

Although I did know one person this time...we met having not known each other about a year ago...it's always weird to walk into a situation where you haven't seen each other in person, but it's OK, especially with this group.

I would highly recommend getting there in time for the first meeting (this year it was the Thursday night pizza party)...I wasn't able to come to that, and it took me far longer to get peoples' names, and that caused me to feel clueless...I'm still trying to figure out if I met a couple certain people! So go to the initial party...you'll feel much more ahead on knowing people.

I think that's a great idea.....but ummm, which pictures are we talking about here? I don't want to scare anyone.

Hey all! I passed my ChaCha test. I always get freaked out by tests.

I've made a whole 57 cents today (I was only on for 5 minutes). At this rate I'll have a enough to buy a corn dog and date shake in October!


Stacie, DH and I talked and we think it would be best to meet you after the appointment if you can. That way we won't feel quite as rushed, and we can waste time at the Mill if want to avoid some traffic. Do you need an exact time? Our appointment is 1-3:30, and so I think we could be there around 4:15. We could plan to meet around 4:30pm, and then talk more that day if you would like. I never heard if Callie was busy. I hope it works out!

Yay for ChaCha! Now you have to decide if it's worth it. I made over $1400 last year, from mid-July to the end of the year. This year it's not going as good as last, but since this is the majority of my Disney money, I do it so my DH doesn't complain about the budget!

I'll sent a PM to Callie to see if she's free.

There's nothing worse than not getting what you paid for, especially at DL. Glad everything worked out. I took the Walk In Walts Footsteps, learned a little bit, could have lead it myself, the cm, with all my comments and questions kept looking at me like why are you on this? But the pin was cool!

Now that my kids are a bit older its still weird that I have time to myself in the Park, but kind of neat too. Im not worried about travelling by myself, just that I wont know anyone. What was that comment about not biting, or most of you dont?

No Way! So am I!! LittleBlackRaincloud is in Tucson, and DangerMouse is in Phoenix. Last year, we had a couple other girls from Arizona, but they didn't go this time.

Is anyone going to be in the parks on Wednesday, April 8? My DS18 and are are flying out for the day to go to DL, since it's his 18th birthday, and I would love to meet up with anyone who's available. Our plane gets in at 8am, and leaves at 9:25pm, so we'll probably leave around 8pm. I'm pretty sure we're upgrading his ticket to a PH, he loves Buzz so will definitely want to do TSMM.

You are so sweet! I wish I'd spent more time with people too, b/c I keep getting faces switched...I keep mixing up you and January in my head for some reason...were you sitting next to each other at Carnation?

I kept thinking I could add on the Segway tour, so I wanted to be there Sunday, and I didn't want to make hubby miss another day of work...that's why I came in Friday...of course, he thought I was staying until Monday anyway, so was OK with me being there another day anyway...silly me!

Stacie, thanks for PMing Callie. Do you have any thoughts on a restaurant in that area? We like just about anything, and would love to do something we don't have here in Tucson.



I went to the doctor's yesterday, and we decided to give me one more week without work. I go back next Thursday to see how things are doing. DH is a nurse also, and is going to pick up two extra days a week until I'm back to work. This will actually give $100 more a paycheck than if I worked. Man, I would love it if he actually WANTED to do that. Then I could stay home and play housewife/mom. He's the bestest husband in the world. I owe him...

Actually, I was sitting at the same table as you at Carnation.

Was January also sitting with us? That's what I was trying to get at...that the two of you were next to each other and therefore I got confused. (so much better to be confused for a reason, rather than just b/c I was exhausted from the very beginning of the trip)
