Well I think I've been pretty open about wanting more, so I'll do it, I'll have the kid. Hear that, ovaries? Hear it? It's for the greater good, you know!

Yay! We got a sucker... I mean, a sacrifice... I mean... well, you know what I mean, as long as it's not me!!

I've long felt that the main problem with marriage is that you live in the same house with the person. I remember reading that Melissa Etheridge and either her first or second main partner (or wife, not sure if married either of them?) lived in houses next door to each other...now if it was the first partner/wife then obviously that didn't ultimately work out for them, LOL, but I still think it would be terrific to have houses right next to each other and live that way. :)

Oh, I SO agree! Even separate bedrooms would be better sometimes. Good thing we have a king-size bed, or I'd get pushed off almost every night... And the snoring?!? OMG, can it be any louder!! :scared1:

Either one is fine.
I asked her "If I take your somewhere, will you not like it?" and my dad said "As long as you don't take her to McDonald's I think you're fine" :lmao:

She prefers "real" food, so sit down restaurants are a plus but either one will work. She knows she's in Disneyland so she knows choices are somewhat limited.

What's "real food"? Is that as in like a meal? Or like a corn dog?
hmm...

Maybe CC or Whitewater snacks.

Thank the Lord! Because if I was going to have to do it, it would currently take a miracle (i.e., (almost) virgin birth)!

I need your help!

I'm taking my mom to Disneyland for her birthday tomorrow. I already made breakfast reservations at Steakhouse 55 in the DLH. Now I don't know what to do about lunch or dinner?

I'm trying to go to inexpensive places, hoping for $20-$30 for the both of us.

Here are some options I came up with for lunch & dinner (the places are easily interchangeable for meals, seeing as how they serve the same thing except for Ralph Brennan's & Napolini which get significantly more expensive for dinner).

Whitewater Snacks, Ralph Brennan's Creole Cafe, Napolini, Red Rockett's pizza port, Riverbelle Terrace, Carnation Cafe, Cocina Cucamonga, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Taste Pilot's Grill, The Plaza Inn.

If you are partial to anyone just give a shout out!
Thanks!:thumbsup2

Ok--you're having a really nice upscale breakfast. For contrast, and if it's a nice day--I would do Whitewater Snacks and sit outside. Maybe a kitty will come and visit! Then I would do Pizza Port--split a salad and the chicken fusilli and either a piece of pizza or the bread!! Can't beat it! I know that Dawn and her Mom love the fried chicken at the Plaza Inn too. I also LOVE  the soup in a bread bowl at Pacific Wharf--but I think it's pricey ($8.99 a piece?) and I don't think there's enough soup--it's mostly bread. (but not bad if you get butter from them!) But I would prefer Pizza Port for a "meal"

Ok, first of all we have been back for less than 2 weeks and this thread is already over 60 pages long?!?!? I have barely finished unpacking! Also, I don't know now if I will be able to go on the trip next year as it is overlapping the Olympics and I work somewhere that is very severely and directly effected by them. I just don't know if anyone will be granted time off during those dates. I will have to wait and see. I am going to try to catch up on the thread, but don't have much hope as I have a L...I...F...E...otherwise known as a husband and 2 children to look after as they are completely unable to look out for themselves....need to work on that.

Sarah

OK THAT WAS IT--THE OLYMPICS!! I knew there was some reason I was thinking that the dates I had originally picked (the Feb. 25th-March 2nd) weren't that great in retrospect and that was it. Depending on what's on (figure skating, for example) I will probably be in a room or bar somewhere watching the Olympics. LOVE  figure skating (though personally have never been on skates in my life!)

oh, and I totally agree on the "living apart" thing. My BFF and I have agreed for years that our ideal man would have his own house a few doors down (not even next door--that's way too close!) I once told a male friend this and his eyes almost popped out of his sockets--because he was so shocked that a woman would actually feel that way . . . . :lmao: most men think that we can't live without 'em

Thanks for the suggestions Cheryl, I really like that plan. Oh, and I totally agree about the Pacific Wharf Cafe. Seriously?! You are charging me almost $10 for a little bread bowl that isn't even completely full of clam chowder?!?!?! PREPOSTEROUS! :snooty:

The only thing is, is that I doubt my mom will be full on Red Rockett's pizza, that is unless she orders a salad, too but now we've gone up to a $15 meal. I'm considering something (fake) Mexican or the Plaza Inn because that would be a nice way to relax in the late afternoon from all that walking. But then again it all depends how I plan our parkhopping.

We will be arriving after opening and I'm hoping to grab a fastpass for Indiana Jones or BTMRR (seeing as how my mom doesn't do Splash or Space) and ride 1-2 rides in Tomorrowland so we can hop on the monorail to our breakfast at Steakhouse55.

After breakfast (about 11am) should we head back to Disneyland or venture off to DCA?:confused3

If you're eating breakfast so late, do you need lunch and dinner? I would have a snack around 2 and then do your "meal" around 4 or 5. Have you seen the portion on the chicken fusilli at Pizza Port? (it's huge)

Yeah real food is a full meal for her. I'm like hmm, burger, fries & a drink? That's a meal for me!

:lmao:

I would go for a Mickey Pretzel & a diet coke myself!

Thank the Lord! Because if I was going to have to do it, it would currently take a miracle (i.e., (almost) virgin birth)!

Why did I find this so funny?? I heart you Cheryl!!

We tried to get tickets to one of the figure skating events but it was a no go. They had a big lottery thing and our name didn't get picked. I am so bummed. I have never been to an olympics and here it is in my backyard and I can't even get tickets! What is up with that?

Yikes! Barring any unforeseen circumstances, one week from today I'll have been in Orlando for an hour already . . . . .

That's what I was gonna say!!

For a snack you get a Mickey bar or a pretzel or a Tigger tail, something yummy. Yep something yummy!! And then send me food porn via text messaging....so I can drool over the yumminess...

Don't give up hope. When I went to the Olympics in Atlanta they opened up some of the "hot ticket" items right before the events. They "reserve" several for VIPs and if they don't show then they release them to the public.

I was lucky at the Salt Lake Olympics and got all the tix I asked for--including the pairs figure skating final (the one where there was the big scandal with the Russian/Canadian teams and they ended up awarding two gold medals to both teams). It was my last trip with my Dad before he died.

Never ever? Oh man...it's so fun! Not that I've skated since I was a teen, but I loved it then. That was back in the day, when Eastridge mall in/near San Jose had a skating rink... I love watching it too, as does hubby! Which is kinda funny...but having an overbearing mother and a gay brother did make his TV viewing as a kid/teen a bit different than other males would admit to!

...most men think that we can't live without 'em

They do, don't they?

Some women do feel that way...I guess my mom felt that way about her 3rd hubby, that she couldn't live without him...:confused3 Guess she loved him quite a bit, but criminy, my brother and I could have helped her through.

Wow, you like your Olympics!

I was living in South Carolina, attending seminars in Atlanta every few months, in the years before the Olympics...I still remember their countdown board over the freeway...

Well I am back from picking up the girls from school. I have been SO tired lately. I swear ever since I got back from the trip I have NOT been able to get enough sleep LOL. But anyway I was SO tired so I laid on the couch and I kept looking at the clock and sure as heck the NEXT time I looked it was AFTER the time I was supposed to pick them up. OOPPS!!! EEK!! So I bolted out the door and I was only a few minutes late but of COURSE they were like, mom where WERE you! But I was like OH don't worry about it!

But the GOOD news is they are doing poem in your pocket week and both have had to memorize poems and Katy did it in Kindergarten and got choosen as one out of two in her class to go in front of the school and recite her poem. Then her teacher gave her a poetry book. Katy just LOVED that thing and although I would have LOVED to save it and keep it nice because her teacher wrote a lovely inscription, she just loved it and has slept with the thing and drug it all over the place so I guess that makes it even MORE special!

In fact she picked a poem from THAT book for THIS year's recital. Well Shelby got picked from HER class to represent HER class this year. I am SO excited for her. We don't know about Katy yet but as I told her it IS Shelby's turn since Katy already got to do it once before in kindergarten but if Katy DID get picked it would be great!

So I will keep you posted but I am SO happy for Shelby and Shelby is SO excited!!! I will DEF take a pic. The thing is next Friday!!

It is FINALLY getting warm here too and it felt so good today to drive with my windows down and just get out of the house. We are supposed to have a little more rain but then hopefully warm for a bit and I am hoping that the weather is nice and warm when we are at DL in April!! Would like to wear Capri's are maybe even shorts! :)

No shows tonight cuz of stupid March madness so I guess just watching the old **** tube.

See yall later. :)
