Thanks for that info Wendy. You know I'm thinking if we go on the 4th thru 8th we won't need to renew the kids annual passes until june.. and that's a good thing.

So i can take that money saved and use it to stay perhaps at the Grand Californian. I would need to book 2 rooms.

:goodvibes I wonder which is the better way to do it with the premium annual passholder discount or the senior discount..i couldn't believe what a great discount that was.

My birthday is April 1--yep, April Fools Day!

Yes, I made them quite a while ago. I didn't include Coral Reef on this trip. Plus I've heard of horror stories where you're seated at the tank and are overrun with kids! I like kids . . . but I don't want to be paying a fortune for lunch and have to babysit!

Yes, the Disney cruise isn't until December though--it was "free" for buying the Disneyland DVC.

Ah, I see. Re: Coral Reef - we never had any trouble. No kids came by any of the tables that I could see. It was the most memorable lunch of my life, but then I really love watching the underwater show. :)

But you have some nice restaurants picked!

I think maybe. Ever since Randy referred to him as having an Edward Cullen look/vibe, I think that's boosted his popularity tons.

The evenings can be chilly.

I could swear Randy was talking about the guy who plays the guitar and doesn't have glasses when he made that Edward comment. You know, the really cute guy who one of the judges said he shouldn't have mentioned he had a wife. Danny has glasses, lost his wife recently and wore that awful white Polar Expedition jacket last night. He has a wonderful voice but the clip of him cracking up in front of Randy Travis looked unprofessional.

My own choice would be Adam, but I think it'll be Danny. Anoop did a nice job last night, Stacie, you're right.

Donna... I loved Coral Reef... it was so kewl! And we had yummy food.

I think Anoop is very interesting. I want him to focus more and i think he could be the sleeper of the season. I was so happy when he was put back in.

hhmmm...

Can ya'll give me your opnions of pros and cons of staying at the Disneyland hotel and Grand Californian.

This would be for a short christmas trip with DH, me, my mom and our 3 grandchildren ( ages 7 and twin 5 year olds}

Thanksssss so much!
O h my goodness! Do the Grand!! When I have more time, I will give you my thoughts on it later! I have stayed there over Christmas. Andyways, it's my Grandson's birthday today, so I'm off to get one more gift, and then to the dentist for me.

ReaLLy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OHMYGOSH... wouldn't that be so Special!!!
We could have our own little family mini meet then...

Wendy and Debbie want to go also!
:cheer2:  :cool1: :dance3:

 I wonder if the girls going on the Vegas trip will come home with a tiny Lime Green Mickey tatoo?:rolleyes1

Not moi! I hate needles and will avoid them if possible!

Definitely the senior discount--unless they have "special" AP rates during those days.

Just read that not only is there an AP room discount of 20% at HoJo's but there is a disboards discount of 15% (and of course there is the ent rate discount of 15%). These cannot be stacked but my point is we should def have had the discounts applied to our rooms....

(and did any of you know about the 20%?)

D, we did have discounts applied to our rooms. I know that they are normally over $100, but we got them for around $84.50 a night. I've thought about that. Was the 'special rate' that the HoJo's gave us really just the standard disboard discount? I don't know, it might have been more. The whole thing is fuzzy to me. I stated in my post when I booked the suite yesterday about my price with the disboard discount being around $114 a night. She wanted to give me 20% off, but I don't have an AP. :guilty: Why didn't I upgrade!?!

Dawn, you should find out when the cast parties are. I think they will either be around the 1st and 2nd, or the next week, around the 8th or 9th. During cast party time, DL closes really early! :sad2:

Do any of you ladies know the dates?

The CP is generally the first full weekend of December, and the Cast Parties are the Monday and Tuesday immediately after.

hhmmm.. so... it comes BEFORE the ap expires???
i'm asking because i'm looking at booking our familys christmas trip to disneyland and the weekend i want to go is of course the weekend our annual passes expire.

so what to do what to do?

Can i just renew and get the renewal discount?
Like if i do it say 2 weeks before the expiration?
If so can i do it online?
Or over the phone?
Or must it be done in person?

how many 20 questions do i have left?

You will get mail and email (if you're signed up online) letting you know that you can renew. I think you can renew in person, by email, and maybe even snail mail, but I'm not sure about phone.

Remember the passes are good until the end of the date on your passes, so if you can end the trip at the end of that date you wouldn't have to renew!

Not sure I will ride Test Track, however!

You drive in Southern CA. From what I've heard, I bet you can handle TT. :)

I heard we were assigned the 84.50 rate because at that time the ent rates were not out. And since there were so many rooms booked (although not all on one tab), perhaps it was being treated like a conference rate quote. It would make sense to offer a decent rate to keep the group at your hotel.

But HoJo said if the ent rate came out, then it would lower to that. And it did. So it sounds like everyone who calls and asks, now gets the adjustment. Maybe if anyone had said they had an AP and mentioned it, then it would have been 5% less (since it was true for the quote you got recently as you said below).

Yup, those APs come in handy. They even gave us a discount at the corn dog station. ;)

Happiest of Birthdays to Your grandson, Melody! May He be blessed this year and always!

:lmao: So true! I missed TT as my Dh was sick that morning.

The question she also had was whether you get any incentive to renew... I think sometimes they do offer something... anyone know?

Hi Divas!!! Been really busy, but lurking a lot lately :rolleyes1 Today I just cannot get the motivation to get to work. I'm sitting here reading, eating Kernels popcorn (yummy!) and trying to get the energy/desire to work....... Nope, nothing yet :upsidedow

Cheryl - have a great trip. I am so jealous!!! We've never been to WDW (the flights are just crazy expensive from here) and DS is just wanting to go so bad...... One day..... (but I am very intimidated about making all the necessary plans, reservations, etc. I have no idea what I want to eat tonight, let alone six months from now :sad2:). You will do great flying! If I can do it (and I am a huge wuss about flying!), then you will do just great! BTW - did you ever get to try the shakes at Sam Andreas?? The date one was great (Sam Andreas Shakes was FINALLY open on the Sunday before I left - so I had to grab one :thumbsup2)

Has anyone seen large maps of Disneyland for sale in any of the shops?? I saw a thread about this a while ago and I would love to get one for my office, but I did not see anything like that on the trip.....

Theresa: I was overwhelmed the first time I went to WDW too--last year--but it really isn't that hard. And now that they've changed most ADRs to 90 days rather than 180 days--well, does that make it better? :lmao: I did not get to San Andreas Shakes. I was on my way out when I saw you at the candy store and didn't want to go all the way back over there.

I will look for maps next time I go.

Hi! I'm Heather! Nice to see you here! ;) I did see the maps. They were folded up, and I saw them several places. They were with the note paper/pencils/scrapbooking stuff. I assume those are 'the big' maps you are talking about. I thought about getting one.

I meant to try a shake, Beth told me about it, and then I got distracted by a corn dog. I'll have that on my to do list next time.

I say I help Beth plan another WDW meet in a couple of years. That would give us all time to plan, save money, and get over fears of flying. What do you all think?

Hi Heather, it's Theresa. Remember me??? :lmao: I say that's a good idea - but I may have a cling-on (my son) attached. He's a big, strong boy though and would be great for FastPass runner, holding bags, etc. Give him a corn dog every now and then, feed him, (let him go on scary rides) and it's good :thumbsup2

I used to go all the time when I was younger. Then when DBF and I got together we now go. We usually get the package that includes tickets, dinner, early addmission, a night at the hotel, breakfast and a shirt. He loves it. I like it.
How fun. I'd love the early admission. That place gets packed!

No WDW for me. :rotfl: I've been four times, and have to say I actually prefer Disneyland. Easier to get to, cheaper with an AP, and I don't feel as guilty leaving my family to go there. WDW feels like too much of a "vacation" to me. I think if I make it back there some day it would have to be with my family, not on a ladies only trip.
But that's just me. ;)

Dang maybe I need to start watching Idol??

CheryL... You and my 1st born granddaughter have so much in common.. You both were 3 pounds when you were born and you both were born in april! Rosalyn is 6 and she is reading the call of the wild.. she started it sunday night and has two chapters to go.

Holy smokes, I haven't even read that yet!

:grouphug: :grouphug:

Of course. Gotta eat. Maybe we can squeeze in a showing of Thunder from Down Under.

:thumbsup2
hmm...MUST GET TO VEGAS THIS WEEKEND!!!!!

 I wonder if the girls going on the Vegas trip will come home with a tiny Lime Green Mickey tatoo?:rolleyes1

I love body art, whats one more tattoo??
...but a lime green Mickey....maybe a black hidden Mickey, that would be supa dupa!!

Well, then maybe we need to make our WDW trip a Diva family trip sort of like some of us are doing in Oct? Theresa's son could be the official fastpass runner! If we do it as families, that really increases the rate though.

Hmmmm, I have to figure out a way to get my new Disney friends to the world...
