Girls Only Disneyland Trip ~ Old thread, link to new one in first post

As I was driving home from work today I saw the strangest thing that I have yet to see here in Vegas and I just had to share it all with you.

I was driving through a busy intersection (Trop and Maryland) a few minutes after 9 tonight I couldn't help but notice that one of the people crossing the street was a heavy set man in full clown makeup, wig and costume driving an electric wheelchair

Now, I'm afraid of clowns (as I think I've shared before) but I couldn't help but laugh and remind myself that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas unless you have girlfriends that you need to cheer up!

That is odd. And wouldn't you know it, today an old episode on CSI (the original) was about a crazy clown. Coincidence? I think not.

Amy - we're taking about banner ads that run at the bottom of our screens - they change all the time and sometimes they pick up on what we're talking about... which is spooky but true in the computer world.

I'm getting the flip flops one now.

My favorite cupcake shop here in Vegas makes kir royale cupcakes--raspberry cake with champagne frosting and they are amazing!!!

Ooh, that sounds really yummy! I want one now...... Nothing like that here - no cupcake shops at all. I must live in the boonies

No--I've been packing and taking a last minute trip to the Paradise Pier Hotel to take pics of the accident scene. Sigh.

I now just finished revising a lease and an amendment and am going to bed.

Hugs to Steph (I wondered if it was where you were when I saw the headlines) and to January--life is hard sometimes. My BFF and I always say that "men can come and go, but you can always rely on your girlfriends."

I am SOOO ready to get out of here. Kitty is home, but looks bad. I've spent more $$$ on him than I will on this vacation and I have the awful feeling he won't be here when i get back. Not that money means that much, but it's disheartening to have done everything you can and you just can't help him.

Morning all. Capri I noticed your little guy is sick. Sorry I just haven't been able to read back all the pages and keep up with everyone. Hope he feels better soon!!

And Steph I am sorry to hear about what has been going on where you live and my prayers are DEF with that pilot's family!!!

And again if I am missing anyone I am sorry. There are just WAY too many pages to read back LOL.

I did see you guys talking about the ads at the bottom and I just keep getting LL Bean ads. Hmmm. I do buy a lot of Eddie Bauer and Land's End. I wonder what that means? I get a free 10 gift card if I buy 50 bucks worth of stuff though. LOL.

Anyway today is the first day all week I have NOTHING. Although I DO have to pay bills. This is the day shane gets paid so it is bill paying day but I can do that from HOME! So other than taking the girls to school I am just going to stay home for ONCE and try to relax a bit. We watched idol last night so I have yet to watch lost and I still have a ton of laundry. Seems I NEVER get caught up with that LOL.

STILL no Lynn but that never changes. She DID finally e-mail her dad again and she says she is going to go meet with one of her friends mom who is a counselor so THAT should be interesting. I hope this woman has a brain and tells her she needs to go HOME!

I guess we shall see. As I keep telling my mom and everyone else we just can't keep worrying about it. She will come home when she's ready or gets busted by the cops and until then there is nothing we can do and this constant worrying is not doing anyone any good.

Anyway Shelby has her practice for her poem today and then tomorrow morning she does it in front of the school so I am so excited for her. My parents are going to come watch her as well and I of course will video and photograph her. As I said before Katy got picked to do it in Kindergarten. At the old school each child that got picked their teacher then gave them a poetry book. I hope that their teachers do SOMETHING for them to remember it by but I guess that will remain to be seen. But anyway then we don't have any plans for this weekend that I know of but hopefully just work around the house. The weather is FINALLY supposed to be nice so Shane needs to mow and the girls have trashed their room and play rooms so I told them they need to clean it up cuz I don't want to come home to messy house.

I STILL have not packed yet cuz I am waiting for the 10 day cuz I am not sure what the weather is going to be down there. Here is it just getting to be almost capri weather so I am not sure. I hope it is warm though.

That's what I think. For those who weren't around here at the time, Cheryl's mom was scooting along the sidewalk going back to their room at Paradise Pier Hotel, Cheryl was looking elsewhere, and turned back to see her mom on the ground. I had a chance to look at the driveway area, where she fell, and it's a very funky grade of the sidewalk-turns-into-driveway...one side goes up towards the hotel while the other goes down as it becomes driveway, and going forward in the dusk or dark you can't really see that happening. And that's where her mom fell off or with her scooter, which is what caused the hip break and the surgery, skilled care facility stay, and the rest.


Cheryl, have a GREAT time, take lots and lots of pictures if you're inclined to do so, and we'll see you later!



I'm about to get ready (am finally awake, after just about NO sleep last night, could not get my brain to shush and my heart was racing b/c of all the thoughts) to go up to just be at the hospital...friend had 11+ hours of surgery (turned out she didn't get started until 7am, not 5am as I was told), there were some problems, her boyfriend was fabulous (yay), her family is twitchy (her sister said they had 25 years to prepare, but NEVER thought it would actually happen), etc etc. The friend told me they didn't need me yesterday, but then on the phone she said she thought "I want a milkshake, chocolate cookies, and someone to take the pressure off the family dynamics"...I told her to CALL ME b/c I can help with that sort of thing! So I'm just going on up today. Robert stayed home. Even if I don't see her, I'm going up.

I ended up watching Twilight after LOST tonight. I love that movie. It makes me cry. I am also reading New Moon again----it is my favorite out of the four books.

I did not like Breaking Dawn at all because I didn't like the thought of Jacob and Renesmee (or whatever that silly name is) together. Booooo!

I see that all the time.




Up here near Summerlin there is a guy called Mr. Happy. He's always in the oddest costumes, standing on the street corner yelling, playing music, just being happy. I heard he inherited a ton of money and that's what he does with it, buys these elaborate costumes and hangs out all day.
He was in some of those Towbin Dodge commercials too.

Anyway today is the first day all week I have NOTHING. So other than taking the girls to school I am just going to stay home for ONCE and try to relax a bit.

I am so tired already. I spent two hours this morning cleaning out the kids closets. But now they are all pretty and organized.
I also did some cleaning in the kitchen and some laundry. Like Kelly said, I never can get caught up on that.

I'm back from Vegas. Haven't attempted yet to catch up on all the pages, but just wanted to check in. Had a great time visiting with Beth on Monday and then shopping (yes, I made a whopping $5 purchase on a travel size conditioner ) and then visiting Belagio. Rest of the week was just spent in the conference. I'm SO glad to be home, but just very very tired.

Wow! Take 1 evening off of checking on this thread and it gets away from you. Just caught up during a work meeting (same meeting we've had 4 times already, just with a new owner each time!)

Lots going on with everyone, but between my meeting and reading, I don't remember much at all. Sorry. So hugs to those who need them and congrats to those who deserve/need it .

Just dropping by to say that I am very excited for Mon! It's my birthday and my DH is taking me to DL for the day. We are eating at Carnation Cafe thanks to you ladies showing me the awesomeness that is that restaurant. I know it will likely be busy due to Spring Break, but we are just planning on getting some FP, eating a corndog, and relaxing. When I get back I will have to catch up on the chatter here. Hopefullly we'll get a chance to see the new "show" either now or in April.

Hey all! I'm back from the doctor. I still have mono, and now I have Strep throat and a heart murmur. I have to go back to the doctor next week because the doctor is worried that I've had this strep for weeks now untreated and that it's gone to my heart. Pray for me please if that's what you do.
