Stacie, now that I have your daughter excited, DH is not sure he wants me to take Nolan. He thinks it will be hard enough for me to manage Nathan on my own for a week. Ugh, don't know what to do, but we can still hang out if I don't bring him right? Tell your daughter not to hold the spot for us, what's meant to happen will happen. Hi there! When Mr. CA aka DBF and family moved here they talk about it being just like that. They moved here around 1970. When I met him in FL and he told me where he lived I had never heard of it. There are not many orange or walnut groves now. It is a nice area - quiet, safe, love the surrounding hills, did I mention quiet?! . We are only an hour from DL, 45min. to the beach and an hour from my second favorite place Santa Barbara. I hope your dream to move back here comes true someday soon!!

My DBF works in Palmdale and I've been there a couple of times. He has been working tons of hours so it feels like he lives there!!

My Mom still lives in Simi, and my brother and his family so I do get there from time to time. Will be there tomorrow for Easter.

How does your DBF like Palmdale? That's a bit of a joke because people who have lived here a while (17 yrs. for us) can't stand it any more.

This is our big vacation for the year, so we are up for splurging on a nice meal. If DH knew what I've spent on pre-booked excursions, he would fall off his chair, but anyone who's been to Alaska can tell you how expensive everything is. And you said the Sheraton is nice, glad to hear that. Last question for today, for our cab fare, the Trolley and dinner, do we need Canadian $$ or will credit cards and/or American $$ be ok?

I second getting some cash.

OK OK we were on a buddddddget for our honeymoon, and the only reason we got a cruiseline excursion was b/c a friend called RCCL and had them put some money on our account, so we got the Jewell Gardens tea thingie (hubby's idea!). Otherwise we just caught a big blue bus (for $5 each roundtrip) up to the glacier in Juneau, and wandered Skagway after the tea, and, um, went back to the ship after about an hour of wandering b/c we were so bored by Ketchikan...

So what are YOU doing? Hopefully a whale watching excursion!

If you like Lebanese food, Mona's on Hornsby was really good. Though it was back in '03 that I ate there, so things might have changed, but it was a great time!

Oh, good offer!! My BS is Computer Science, with a Math minor. Yes, I'm a nerd!! But I haven't done it in so long, I would probably be lost!

Ooh, nice. If you're not using that degree, can we white out the name on the diploma and send the piece of paper out to Robert? He has so much knowledge but is missing that piece of paper that helps people trust in him...though obviously he doesn't do programming, and he needs to learn it.

OK I'm just blathering right now...thinking how silly we've been, not sending him to classes these last couple years, when we knew it was a hole in his experience and knowledge and resume!

Me being Miss Klutz (which I am) was when we were talking about all sleeping in the new Pirate suite at Hojos and somehow Debbie and I got pegged for the bunk beds and were fighting over who would be on the top bunk cause we both feel we would fall off (especially with rum drinks involved). Hi all, checking in late and catching up with what everyone's been up to! Kelly, loved the photos.

Linda, we did that Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver about 3 years ago. The best parts were the excursions, so good for you that you booked them. Not sure which stops you'll have (we were on Princess), but we remember the small plane around Mt McKinley as being amazing. Also heli lands on ice - a whole 'nother world.

In Vancouver, we did that tram around the park which we loved, ate at the lovely restaurant in the park. I think we allocated 4 days, but we recall this as a highlight.

Started off with breakfast, grilled cheese using frozen gluten free bread. I need to tweak it next time but boy was it so good to eat, you have permission to whap me if I go back for another.

Dinner tonight is chicken, rice and veggies in theory.
