*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Not a lot of time to catch up right now. I hope you all a nice day.

I took the day off from work to spend some time with Josh and the kids. We left this morning just after 7 and just got back home. We went to Sprinkles cupcakes (they're in the fridge, can't wait to eat them), then to Pinks for hot dogs they are quite tasty and we only had to wait about 30 minutes from when we got into line to when we received our food. After that we headed over to the Farmers Market. We did some shopping, more eating, and exploring while we were there. After that we headed home and then stopped for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Needless to say no one is eating dinner tonight, we except maybe a cupcake.

I'm exhausted and wishing I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow. I am so glad I took the day off. We all had a great time.

Big hugs to January. It takes a lot of courage to leave. When I left my kids dad it was the hardest thing I had ever done. But there is only so much crap a person can take. I am with Mel, lets punch him out, creep. Its great that you have your family to rely on. Once you get a rountine down, life gets back to normal again, whatever normal is. I am glad he isn't being a jerk and is cooperating with you and the parenting plan.


So for the meet & greet are we having pizza again? The candy buffet was a lot fun.

Excuse me? We live like 15 minutes from each other! We should plan that summer meet for this area...any specific days that work well for you?

Oops!! We did say that we were going to do a summer meet, but nothing has come up yet with that. It has been a bit of a crazy summer, for sure!!

I am very seriously thinking of going in Feb. I originally signed up for Vegas but backed out. I'm so nervous about meeting new people, but once I get comfortable good luck shutting me up.

You should do it! I was absolutely terrified this year - it was my first Ladies Only Trip and my first trip on my own too (I'm a bit of a wuss - shhhh, don't tell anyone, 'K????). Plus it will be Donna's and my birthday, so you can't really say no to that, right?

I am also a newbie! I am very excited so is my husband he doesn't have to go! LOL!

Woo hoo My DH is the same. He's like I've been to Disneyland twice now, I can live without ever going again. WTH??? Weirdo!

(((((((( Hugs to you)))))))))))) I am so behind on the boards but this was the first thing that caught my attention when skimming the boards. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your little girl. I went through a divorce when my son was only 2 1/2. If you ever need anything, even just to vent let me know. I know I felt so alone throughout the process. ALL of my friends were all married with kids and I felt so withdrawn from everyone around me. You'll get through this.....you will have so much support.

You might just be suprised about the weight loss...I lost 40 lbs on my 'divorce diet'. I tend to not eat when I'm sad or upset and then eat like a mad woman when I'm happy. So guess where I am now? Happy and I've gained 20lbs...yikes! Oh well...I'll take happy anyday! Hang in there and here's a hug for today!

Vicki is right. I lost 60 pounds when I got divorced!! Not exactly the right way to DO it but hey whatever happens eh LOL. I even managed to keep it off for over a year and who knows how long I would have kept it off but I got PG with Katy. I have since gained and lost most of it again but I think if you work hard you will lose!!

Hmmmmm, I've probably gained 20 pounds too, but I haven't felt too happy lately. As a matter of fact, I've been pretty much down in the dumps lately. I must be a sad/stress eater. I wish I was a sad/stress exercise babe instead.

The divorce diet worked for me too...felt great then I met and fell in love with Chris and we got fat and happy together LOL JUST KIDDING!!! Really it was too much Gibson girl I think that did us in.

I guess I need to get married so I can get divorced and lose some weight--simply kicking the latest ex-DBF to the curb didn't do it . . . . .

That was the hardest part for me as well. My Exhusband cheated on me with a 20 year old girl (well we think she was at least 20 ack) he worked with. It really was a blessing in disguise! I knew for months he was up to something...all i needed was my proof. I finally found my proof on his myspace page and whewwww I was outta there! I said give me a week to pack my things and c ya! That was a saturday and I was at the courthouse on Monday filing. Six months and a day later it was final. In fact...I celebrate that day every year...July 23rd!!! What hurt me was that I lost my "family". That didn't last long though. I became such a stronger woman during this. His poor dad now ...well as I've said he's 37 going on 18 again. I feel sorry for him at times but he's done it to himself.

I also have the Dumbo 2 free nights when you buy 3, and I swear, I'm SOOOOOO tempted to book it. Not just because it's a great deal if you want to stay onsite, but also because if I pay for it on our Disney Visa, we get 6 months at 0% interest, so it gives us a little more time to pay it off. Of course, even if we stayed at the lowly Paradise Pier (kidding, we love the Paradise Pier, but it seems others view it as being the low end for Disneyland hotels), it would still cost us about $230 more for our vacation than if we stayed at the HOJO with the Entertainment rate.

But, we would get six extra months to pay it off.....hmmmmm. What to do?
