*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

A brand new Lexus to be exact. :sad2:

Oh Lordy, that is funny!:lmao:
I simply must hear THAT story someday.

Happy Friday, indeed.
I only had to work half day. DH had his colonoscopy today and I had to pick him up at 1 pm. What a horrible thing that whole ordeal was, I hope I never have to have one. He got a clean bill of health from the doc, though.:thumbsup2

One day over drinks I will tell you that story. Glad your DH got a :thumbsup2 from the scope. Yeah its an ordeal, but its better to have those tests than not.

Ok, who told the Tag Fairy to change my tag??????

Ha - I'm VERY happy there is another naughty one from the Vegas trip (or at least a story we heard on the Vegas trip!!!). I was starting to feel a little lonely :rolleyes1

Linda I am having one in 2 weeks! I ALREADY had a barium enema which is even WORSE earlier this year. I am SO not happy about it. I feel your dh's pain. I think the prep for it is worse even than the actual test. But unfortunately after a certain age everyone needs to get one. In my "lucky" case I have stomach issues so I need more than the normal person. Glad your dh was healthy!

Oh Kelly, you poor thing!
Yes, the prep was the worst. And the starvation. DH had normal dinner on Wed. Starting Thurs - only clear liquids - basically he had Sprite and Chicken broth, and spent all afternoon/evening in the loo (as Theresa would say:laughing:). Fri - NOTHING - not even water! His procedure was at 11 am and he is an early riser. He said Fri from 5-11 am was the worst cause he was so dehydrated and starving...plus nervous about the procedure. So he basically had no food/coffee for 38 hours! When I brewed coffee Thurs morn, he was ok with it - just drank his water. When I brewed coffee Fri morn he yelled/whined like a child "turn that damn thing off, the smell is killing me!!!" I felt so bad for him. Oh, and he lost 8 pounds so now I offically weigh more than he does by three pounds. NICE!:headache:

Lynn, Iv'e been there and done that too. You are right.................the worst part of a colonostopy is the prep. I was up all night getting a good clean out. TMI!! :rolleyes1 But my doctor put the fear of GOd into me telling me that if I wasn't cleaned out good enough, I would have to go through the process all over again. NO THANKS!!! The worst part was drinking that syrup junk. I thought I was going to heave it all up, and that was after fasting all day!

I also wanted to tell you that I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this again with Lynn. It soundls like in just one day, that things are already a mess. I hope that she realizes real soon how fortunate she is to be in a real home with a roof over her head. I will put your family in my prayers. Please take care.

Linda, glad to hear your DH's test came out good.

Stacie, the Tag Fairy sure likes you! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi ladies!!! I'm back.

We had sooooo much fun. Chuck E Cheese, Shark Reef, and the Rainforest Cafe were all a blast. We did cake and presents in the room and then this morning we ALL went swimming.

At one point we were in the lazy river, Noelle turns to me and says, "It's nice to have you in the water with me for the first time in......" Here she pauses to think, then says, "Well, for the first time ever!" :rotfl:
And she's right! The last time I went swimming was before she was born and she's 12.

We arranged for a late check out so we could spend more time down by the pools, and then we went to Red Robin for lunch. I am tired, but glad everyone had so much fun. :goodvibes

Now to catch up!!!

Cheryl ~ I posted this on FB, but wanted to say once again I'm sorry about Chase.

Steph ~ Thank you for your PMs. And good luck to you with your ankle surgery. I hope the surgery goes smoothly and your recovery is speedy.

Linda ~ Glad to hear your DH had good test results. :)

Kelly ~ Hang in there.

Jane ~ I'm glad to hear Ty checked out A-okay. He's such a cutie!

Stacie ~ Love the new tag. lol You knew it was coming! :rotfl:

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone..... OH! Happy Birthday to Sarah and Katie!!! :yay:  :cool1: :dance3:

I hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to pop in to say hello and good night. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Sarah & Katie!!!party:

Yes Mel, the syrup stuff that comes in a mini-plastic-gas can tastes like "slimy stale salt water with a pukey aftertaste". Yum, can I have some - NOT!:scared:

Beth - So glad you guys had such a fun time. I LOVE lazy rivers, they are a selling point for me at a resort, as I can spend the better part of a day there. And we loved Shark Reef, too. :thumbsup2We even bought the cheesy pic they take of you with the acrylic tube behind you - even thou it is photoshopped in! And I wanted to mention I love the pretty blue blouse you are wearing in the Vegas pics. It is very cute and light blue looks really good on you.;)

Been there, done that. I didn't think it was too bad, but then maybe I don't remember... it was a few years ago, which means it's probably getting close to time again!!

Yes the prep is the WORST! For me though they gave me this citrate stuff. I had to drink water every so many half hours and same thing only clear liquids, broth, water, jello etc and then starting at night I have to make this tonic of this citrate stuff that is "supposed" to taste like citrus but is so sour and thick like you guys I almost hurled last time. Then after THAT I had to take pills that were laxatives. And like Linda's dh and Mel you are up ALL night "going" AFTER you've had nothing to eat all day so by the next day you are so dang dehydrated you can hardly move. And what's worse is I have to take meds in the morning so I can only have barely a sip with the 15 stupid pills I have to get down. Then Linda like your dh last time I was SO nervous I don't know if it was THAT or just being so dehydrated but waiting for my test I started dry heaving.

My test was supposed to be at 10 something and I got to radiological and waited and waited and then they said that there was a delay and I was SO sick by then with a migraine from being dhydrated and not eating that I just started bawling right there in the middle of the place in front of tons of people. Then with the barium test they make you lay on this REALLY hard table in just this gown and it was FREEZING cold with the AC. They pump you full of this dye and you are supposed to "hold" it for 1 hour while they move you around to take all these x-rays of your upper and lower intestines. And like the colonoscopy they told me the same thing. They took an x-ray to make SURE I was completely "cleaned" out because if I wasn't they said I would have to come back. I was like NO WAY! So I DEF feel you guys pain and I am NOT happy about having to do it again. But as bad as the colonoscopy is going to be I think the BE was worse!

At least now I am on anti anxiety meds so hopefully that will help! :)

Anyway enough TMI for everyone else on the boards LOL All these younger gals are probably like EWWWWW ;)

Beth I am so glad you had fun with your girls!

We are off to our LAST reg meet but it is in Galt so we have a LONG drive and a LONG day ahead of us!

See you all later and have a GREAT day!

Colonoscopy preps, not a topic I expected to read about this am, but I am sorry that so many of you have suffered through them. I like Stacie don't remember it being too bad except I was hospitalized when I had mine, and had to share my loo with another patient. Talk about fun!

I been on the other side, so to speak, and have worked in a GI lab. The prep is definitely worse than the procedure. Also, we all talked about how they needed to invent a machine that would just suck it out of you once you were sedated. That really doesn't sound too pleasant either though. I guess it's just not a pleasant thing to deal with!

Have a great day everyone!

That is so cute about Noelle's comment to you. Now doesn't that just make the "swimsuit" so worth it?:cloud9: I also have a feeling that Rueben probably liked it too!!! :rolleyes1
