*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Good morning everyone. :grouphug:

Boy, sounds like everyone has been BIZZZZZZZZEEEEEE lately. Yep, me too.:goodvibes

Today is Ryan's 10th birthday (and tomorrow is Luke's 6th birthday). We're going to pizza tonight after Ryan's baseball game to have a little family birthday dinner and open some gifts. Their double birthday party with their friends is this Saturday, but I'm afraid Ryan isn't going to hardly have any friends show up. (sigh) I feel so bad and I'm not sure what to do. I don't want Luke to have a bunch of friends there and gifts to open when Ryan only has one or two friends show up. This could be a sad situation for Ryan. It's kept me awake for two nights now.....I'm stressing about it. :guilty:

Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out somehow. Anyway, I can hardly believe my little guys aren't so little anymore.....my babies are growing up. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

Morning all. Well last night we went to our Girl Scout party and Katy DID end up getting her Junior vest although it was rather anti-climatic. One of the other parents and I were commenting on how this year was rather sad. This is our 4th year in GS and we used to do SO much but our leader is involved in a LOT of other stuff and I think she is neglecting our troop and it is really sad. This other parent said that if this keeps up THIS year she is going to say something to council cuz it is not fair to the girls. We had hardly ANY meetings this year and ALL she was concerned about was selling cookies etc.

Last year when we had the bridging we only had 3 girls who did it and it was a BIG deal and this year she just handed the girls their vests in plastic bags. These girls were in our ORIG group and it was pretty bad! NOT fair to them at all as they looked forward to this the last 3 years as Brownies. Anyway also Lynn came up yesterday and got her stuff and I don't WHAT is going to happen with that. I have to call the probation dept today and see what the next step is. For now she is with this boy down in Fresno and she wants Shane to let her get married but she has dropped out of school AGAIN and she was only 2 weeks from graduating and she HAS to face the music on this probation thing so I don't know what is going to happen.

But anyway our friends took a video of Katy's IM which I have included a link if anyone wants to see it. It is a bit blurry but she did great even if she did come in last. She was a bit uneven on her back stroke but otherwise she did good I thought. She just needs to speed up! :)

Anyway today I have to run in to work and then hopefully the girls and I will do some walking to start our exercise routine. Then tomorrow I have to take our cat in to the vet to get he shots and then I just have to run in to work on Fri one more time but otherswise nothing else this week. So it should be a nice relaxing week.

The girls and I plan to do SOME type of exercise each day and our schoolwork.

We have ANOTHER meet this weekend, this time a ways away and HOPEFULLY the coach will listen this time and put Katy into her stroke she wants but we shall see.

Anyway that's bout it for me.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day today!!

Take care and talk soon!

Hey all...haven't read back yet but wanted to let everyone know that the poll closes tomorrow morning (the 16th) at 9 am! So if you haven't had a chance to vote yet, please do so within the next 24 hours! It is a very close poll!

Thanks all!

Drive-by posting. My life is hectic today, and I'm sure that's right along with the rest of you! I have 5 days until my party and then 5 days after that I pack up then move the next morning (the 26th) as the sun comes up. I'm not even close to being even 1/4 packed at home, as I've been dog-sitting all weekend. Now I'm at my parents house going through every piece of artwork I've made over the past 5 1/2 years to figure out what I want to put out for the party. Then I have 4 HUGE tubs of photos to go through. We're talking monster rubbermaid tubs! To put the icing on the cake, my dog Spanky is a little gassy right now so my eyes are watering. I know it's gross but it makes the situation AWESOME (sarcasm).

I'm not complaining though, I'm just busy and flustered... and starving all of the sudden. I hope you all have a beautiful day! :grouphug:

Stopping by say HI and wishing you all sunshine today!

We had a busy weekend and this week looks like it will be just as busy. I've been fighting a cold and so Sat. I relaxed while Bob and the kids did their thing in the morning and then we did things around the house in the afternoon.

Then yesterday Bob, his DS 13 and I spent the day at the LA Zoo making up a scavenger hunt for Bob's 15 yo daughter's BD party on Sat. It was fun but thankfully I will be at the DL backstage tour and Bob will be on his way to Boy Scout camp so her mom is in charge of the 12 kids, the scavenger hunt and the zoo! His DD is a Type A personality times 20 and an huge overachiever. Everything has to be exactly like she thinks it should be...always drama. My DD was more laid back and not a drama queen so it is taking me a bit of patience and biting my tongue with adjusting to her strong, pushy personality. ;)

I am really looking forward to spending some alone time at Disney this weekend and then next week I have a work convention at the Anaheim convention center so I'll get to see some of my co-workers and then I am off to Denver on June 25 until July 3. I am so looking forward to seeing my family and friends and spending some time with my mom before her surgery.

If anyone is going to be at DL this weekend let me know! I'll be staying in Anaheim Sat. Sun. Mon. (working from the hotel on Monday) and then I will be at the convention Tues and Wed.

I hope everyone has a great sunshiny day!

Hi ladies!

I hope summer is treating you all well. It has been raining here nonstop...it is really unusual for Boise to get this much rain, especially this time of year. So, I am running out of things to do with Madelyn. She is getting bored. The library and movies are not fun anymore. lol

It looks like we have another week (at least) of rain! Sheesh!

I have not been able to read back too far.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ryan and Luke!!:dance3::yay:

I know its hard to think that Ryan will not have as many friends at the party. I think he will still have fun, I think it is probably harder on mommy than it is on him.

Well, I feel soooo out of the loop. I am never on the Dis or on Facebook. I am on the computer so often for ChaCha and school that I never venture far from those two places.

I will make more of an attempt to hang here more often.

I must say I am jealous that just about all of you have local divas from here to have meets and lunches with. I am allllll alone here in Boise. *boo*:sad2:

I can't wait to try them! Where do you get them? I wonder if I should have some while I am there with my family in 3 months or wait till I am with the Divas again?

I don't think I have had Pommes Fritas either! What's this world coming to?!

What???????????????????

January~ we have been getting a lot rain around here too, that is not normal at all. Thunder & lightening storms like crazy!!

I can't believe the weather you all have been having. We normally get lots of rain, but we have barely had any in the past month! We must have switched!

I wonder if we are getting the same storms? It is pretty crazy. It is making for a lousy summer...but oh well. It will soon be over.

We had crazy storms here in Indiana last week. I had a leak in my sunroof, and the water trickled down the inside of the frame of the car and flooded the drivers side on the floor. Crazy. I got it fixed though. What kind of storms? This might sound naive, but do you get tornadoes in WA? Here's a pic that my friend took a few weeks ago. This was right above where I live.

One thing I won't miss about the midwest.... tornadoes! I will, however miss the thunderstorms.

Nope, no tornadoes in WA....well, that is not entirely true. We get something similar but if they ever do touch down they don't really do much damage...we sometimes get them so that we can take pictures of them over the water or up in the sky, but nothing like you all get!
