*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Afternoon all. Back from court and back from up north! Well it went pretty well! We got there and we met with the PO and She didn't want to hear ANY of Lynn's crap. She tried to sweet talk her way out of it but she didn't want to hear it. She told her that she was DEF going to be on probation no matter what till she was 18. She did however transfer her case to Sutter county which is where she is living and she will have to go to ANOTHER hearing up there to make it official. But she said that since we are still her official legal guardians that if ANYTHING goes wrong up there that the case will be transferred back here, she will have to come back here to live with us AND she will go to court and most likely be locked up.

So she knows her do do is weak. She knows that if she screws up even a LITTLE bit she is in big trouble. That PO didn't want to hear about how she is working or in school or any of it. It was SO refreshing for once to get someone who didn't give her a slap on the wrist and let her get away with it!

She also said she better not get kicked out of grandma's place cuz then she is stuck too with us. So we shall see. I think this was a pretty big wake up call but the problem is is that they let her get away with murder up there so hopefully she "gets" it. They pretty much let her stay out all night long and she is already smoking and as I said she got caught with alcohol in her bag last week so she BETTER watch or else!

Anyway so we dropped her off and then I came back and got my blood drawn and we got our hair cut and I got the lady that butchered my hair again. UGH! I almost look like Shane LOL with a crew cut. Oh well I won't need another cut for awhile LOL.

Anyway now Shane is at his buddy's house going over some stuff and he is giong to pick up the girls and then tonight we have swim. I have my therapist tomorrow and my psychiatrist on Thursday. That was what my bloodwork was for today. Hopefully he will say that all is well and I can be DONE with him soon. I am getting tired of so many apts! It is expensive and I am getting sick of going so much!! Esp since the girls will be out of school next week!

Anyway then Friday I have work and Saturday is our first meet! Should be exciting. Can't wait to see how the girls do. It is an away meet which is always a bit crazy cuz you don't know the area and can NEVER hear the announcers etc. Then next week is the last week of school so THAt should be exciting and next Sunday Shane and the girls all get baptized so I am looking forward to that. Oh and Friday is Shane's birthday so we are going out to celebrate that! So as I said LOTS going on but fun as well! :)

Anyway Bridgette and Courtney I hope you start feeling better.

Christine I am so sorry you won't be able to make our trip. I hope you can still stop in and say hello on the thread though. I don't think anyone would mind that.

Stac, happy birthday!! Hope you have fun!

Laurie good luck at the doc.

And Hi to everyone else! :)

Hmmm. I was just thinking of t-shirts again. I really really like Heather's design, except I don't like the dates being on it. Is there a way to "blow it up so that the skull etc. are more in the middle? and maybe put the Dis Divas plunder part on the "back" of the shirt? Just a thought.

Hi everyone. :wave2

My weekend was fairly uneventful. It was nice until Sunday when I started getting sick with a bad cold (sore throat, plugged ears, burning sinuses, fatigue). I'm a little better today, but still feeling the crud coursing through my veins.:goodvibes

I've had a VERY interesting time with my learning team at the University of Phoenix. One of my team mates plagiarized her entire portion of a team assignment that was due by midnight yesterday. I'm mean her ENTIRE portion......word for word. Keep in mind, this is graduate school.....for teachers. Would you want this girl teaching and influencing your kids? Where are her ethics and morals?

Luckily I caught it last night after I sent our entire project through the school's plagiarism checker. Otherwise our entire team could have been on the hook for plagiarism. Anyway, I was stuck writing a new segment for our project (the part that she was supposed to write) at 11:00pm last night, plus I had to cover for another team member who dropped the ball and didn't do his part of the assignment. And our assignment was due by midnight, so I had A LOT to do in an hour at the last minute. Too bad I can't get triple the points for doing triple the work.

Cheryl - I'm so sorry to hear about your assistant's cancer and your friend's passing.

Kelly - Thanks for posting the pictures of you and Michelle's get-together. All the girls are just so cute. :cutie:

I hope Bridgette and Courtney, and me ;), start to feel better soon. :thumbsup2

Everyone else - Hugs, hugs, hugs! :grouphug:

Afternoon Ladies!

I feel like I haven't posted in ages! I am so sorry that I don't have time to go back and read everything.:sad2: Thankfully I am also FB friends with many of you so it gives me another way to keep up! (Anybody else want to be my friend?? :) ) And I am going to try really hard to keep up with this thread!

My dh and I went to South Lake Tahoe this weekend. Unfortunately I caught some kind of stomach bug so we weren't able to do as much as we had planned. I had to stay close to a bathroom! :scared1:
Our hotel room was nice but the wireless internet was very very slow.:sad2:
Anyway, I was able to get some well needed rest and enjoy the beautiful area.

This Friday the family is heading to DL!:cool1: We will be at the PPH for 5 nights. Hoping for great weather and low crowds!:woohoo:

Lots to do before then though. Haven't even thought about packing yet - first I need to do laundry.:laundy:

I had an IEP (Individual Education Plan) this morning for Ethan and Jack's tri-annual IEP is later this afternoon. Thankfully the School District and I agree with placements. Things went smoothly this morning and should this afternoon also.:thumbsup2

I'll try to check back in later. Oh - and I DVR Jon and Kate and watched it earlier today. I feel sorry for them. They have some big decisions to make.

Becci

Hi Sarah, Wendy, Sarah and Rochelle. :)

Capri, that is nuts about that person copying the entire thing word for word. And sucks you had to pick up the slack.
I hope you feel better soon.

Cheryl, I like Heather's design as well. I'm excited to see what fun changes can be made to it and also what other designs are submitted. :yay:

Becky, sorry to hear you got sick on your Tahoe vacation. Lucky you heading off to DL in a few days!

Kelly, I'm glad you were pleased with the way things went today. :)

Just popping in to say hi! :goodvibes

Kelly--I'm glad things went well in court today. Hopefully that will be a wakeup call for Lynn, and she'll get her act together.
Sorry about your hair cut! At least you know it'll grow out eventually;)

I like Heathers design, too. And I like that it will look good on a dark shirt. White shirt and I just don't get along very well!

Capri--I'm sorry you're not feeling well.
And I can't believe what happened with your project! That is why I never liked group projects! I'd much rather just do all my own work and not have to worry about other people.

Afternoon Ladies!

I feel like I haven't posted in ages! Becci

Sorry you were sick in Tahoe, Becci! It is so beautiful there, and I hope you were able to enjoy it a bit.
Hey girl, you better get to your laundy if you're going to have time to repack for DLR!!!!! :laundy:

We're having teriyaki burgers with grilled pineapple and sauteed sweet onions tonight!! I made some homemade mac and cheese today that I think we'll have and then maybe a spinach salad. I hope you all have a great evening!!!

I hope you and everyone else who is sick start feeling better soon too!

What are you going to do about the plagiarism?

Thanks Cheryl. I'm hoping to feel better soon too. :goodvibes

As far as the plagiarism goes, I talked it over with one of my team mates (he's also a Univerisity of Phoenix counselor, so I felt it would be a good idea to get his opinion), and he and I agreed that her attempt at plagiarism should be reported to our class instructor. So that is just what I did. It won't be hard for our instuctor to see what happened.....all the instuctor needs to do is read all of our project thread in our team forum. Also, the instructor can click on this girl's contribution attachment and send it through the university's plagarism checker. It's all there in black and white. There's no denying that she posted it as her own work.

What I don't get is why an adult would be in a graduate program who doesn't value it? And risk getting kicked out?......well, and risk our whole team for that matter. I don't care what she does with her education, but she better not mess with mine again. I'm there to learn and do my very best....and author my own work. :thumbsup2

Hey! I'm so glad you like it. I can take the date and plunder part off, and we can put that on the back. I can't really change the background picture though (the part with the skull). I'll see what I can come up with when I have time.

Beth is there a time limit that I would need to get it in by? I might find time today or next month at the rate I'm going.

I like the idea of a dark shirt also Tina! :thumbsup2

ETA: If I take the plunder off, all it would say is Girls' Only Trip. Is that really all you all want it to say? I thought the yo ho part was too wordy for the shirt. I'm almost tempted to have it (the yo ho part) be the optional back design....

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share my score on Buzz today.

Other than that, not much today. I may take Bella over to friend's house to "meet" their dog.

How did it go?

Hi everyone! School is coming to a close, next Friday I graduate! :cool1:
I'm so sleepy right now so I think I'm going to take a little nap before starting my geography paper.

I really like the Dis Divas Plunder part on the front of the shirt. The only thing I would do is take out the dates (although I personally don't mind the dates being on the shirt......even just the year would be fine). But I know that some of the girls don't like shirts with dates on them, so taking them completely out is fine with me. But the "plunder" saying is what makes the shirt so........Dis Diva pirate-ish. We gotta have the PLUNDER! :goodvibes

Stacie, Happy Birthday!!

Thanks Beth! And thank you to everyone for all their birthday wishes. So far I have had a great day. Got to DLR early this morning with James, and was on Main Street for rope drop. Went on some rides, and had walked around a bit. Hopped over to DCA for a demo by the Ghiredhili (sp) chocolatier. It was super yummy, did Toy story and made a call to Disney Dining and got us right in to Carnation Cafe. Had a delsih lunch over there. Then spent some time walking around and shoping. Grabbed some ice cream before we headed out of the park. We picked up Taylor and now are just waiting for dinner. Going to have ribs tonight. Oh, and I picked up some sourdough bread when I was at DCA to have with dinner tonight. Its gonna be yummy.

I also don't like the dates being on it. I'm wierd like that. I dont' like to wear shirts after the year has passed. Maybe way long ago vintage, but not some years ago.

Yep! We got this one for just $149 each and we couldn't pass it up. It's the first one back to Ensenada.

Where did you go through? I'm thinking of doing a cruise soon and am looking for a great deal!

Thanks Cheryl. I'm hoping to feel better soon too. :goodvibes

Thank goodness she will be held accountable for her actions. That is just wrong for her to do that and to risk the whole team. Not smart at all.

Directly thru Carnival. Just check thier website, they have great deals right now, especially for CA resident.

Good for you! I didn't even know they had such things as plagiarism checkers--shows how long I've been out of school! What a nitwit that girl was (and the other person who dropped the ball). Are you with these same people throughout the semester for projects? I'm proud that you reported it.

How did it go?

Hi everyone! School is coming to a close, next Friday I graduate! :cool1:
I'm so sleepy right now so I think I'm going to take a little nap before starting my geography paper.

Not that well--Peter the MinPin was in a "mood"--he's really high maintenance and apparently had a sore paw. So he was not in a playful mood. His "Daddy" was very disappointed. Bella kept sending him "play" signals and he just wanted to sit on my friend's lap!

Yay for graduating!

I really like the Dis Divas Plunder part on the front of the shirt. Yeah--I like the Plunder part too--or putting "Pirate Princess" somewhere on it.

It's mostly the date I don't care for.

Hey! I'm so glad you like it. I can take the date and plunder part off, and we can put that on the back. I can't really change the background picture though (the part with the skull). I'll see what I can come up with when I have time.

I liked the yo ho, yo ho a diva's life for me. Thought it was cute! Maybe that could go on the back.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share my score on Buzz today.

Great job!

I found the perfect accessory for our shirts! Can you just imagine the 40+ of us all walking around in one of these!:

49669.jpg

They would definitely see us coming! :rotfl:

Oh, and I have no problem taking the date off, since that's what it sounds like everyone wants, even though Cheryl's the only one to directly ask. I didn't make 'my design' with the t shirt in mind to begin with. I was just playing one day. Who knows maybe we'll even find another design we like better. :confused3

I'll work on a new one, let me know if you all think of any other sayings you'd like to see on it. If I make a main template, it won't be hard to change sayings around, and then we can decide which one we like best.
