*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Personally, I'm glad the weekend is over. Nothing but bad news.

First the Francine situation.

then a friend here on the Dis had a relative have a stroke.

then I went to work and got an email that a friend of mine in Utah--who had been fighting pancreatic cancer for 22 months--died yesterday. Luckily he'd spent a beautiful day on Saturday with his family (wife and 5-year old daughter) visting friends, his Dad and brother. I knew it was coming but it was still a shock. I expected him to go in the hospital and linger--instead it was over before anyone knew it--which I guess was a blessing in disguise.

So I'm ready for the weekend to be over.

So I think I'm getting sick guys. Pixie dust please. I don't feel like dealing with another cold. I had one earlier this year, no mas!!

About 20 min after I posted that I was going to my niece's party, I started turning green and feeling extremely ill and fatigued. My core temp usually runs 97.3, but it's at 100. Bleh I made it through the party and I should take a nap but I am not going to because I took one yesterday and couldn't fall asleep when it was bedtime. I hope it's just a silly flu and not the onset of a kidney stone. That's really the only time I ever get a fever... with stones.

I'm hope your fever goes away and you don't get any stones.

So very cool that you were able to see the Shuttle land. We heard the 'boom' and instantly turned on the TV to see it land and I thought of you and was hoping that you were able to see it!

Yep very sad! We'll see how they do tonight! However it turns out I think they've done a great job and have held their own against the Lakers. I even work my Denver Nugget polo today...I was afraid I might get beat up in the park bathroom but I was ok!

I thought of you right away too, Steph, when I heard the boom.

They're doing good right now!! And I'm glad you didn't get beat up in the bathroom!!!!

Cheryl I am so sorry to hear about everyone in your life with all of their health issues!! Many prayers to all involved!

Bridgette I am hoping you feel better soon! Hope it is just the flu or something and not a stone. Had one of those and know how painful they are! Prayers to you as well!

Anyway I am back from picking up Lynn. We got up there and it was awkward to say the least. I walked in and she hugged the girls and Shane and didn't even acknowldge me so I just walked by. I thought fine whatever! I talked to Shane's brother and mom and just let it go. Then her "boyfriend" was there and he had piercings in his lower lip (2 rings) they call them snake bites and those big guage earrings in his ears. I was like OK! But anyway so then we sat there and visited for awhile and Shane's mom's husband and his brother sat there and smoked and blew it in my face and gave me a headache and Lynn smokes now too but she at least didn't smoke in front of us cuz I would NOT have been pleased about that. I do NOT approve of that. But anyway we finally left and all the way down Shane talked to her and she now cusses like a sailor and I was giving Shane dirty looks and whispering to him telling him to tell her to stop doing that around the girls but he just let her do it. She is SO not even the same kid. I don't even KNOW the person she has become.

She is living with his mom and they basically let her get away with murder and they all smoke and drink and I know there is drug use that goes on up there and so she can just do whatever she pleases. She can come and go and have free rein up there so no WONDER she likes it there. I don't approve at ALL but as long as she is there and not running on the loose I guess I have nothing to say. I know if she was here she would just run again and at least I am not stressing out so I just have to let it go.

I just hope they DO put her on probation tomorrow so she at LEAST know that if she gets in trouble again she will have some retribution for her actions. We shall see.

Anyway Michelle and the gang left this morning but I have some pics to share.

I can't believe that the long weekend has flown by so quickly... We ran lots of errands, swam yesterday and today and got a few of the cleaning projects that need to be done by next Sunday when my niece arrives completed.

Vicki, judging by the way things are going right now in the game, I think you can wear your jersey with pride. Dh keeps yelling at the TV. Enjoyed the halftime blurb on "Birdman". I just don't get all the tattoo's on these men. I mean, most of them are COVERED in them! Oh well, I try not to judge, I just don't get it.

Hope you all have a good evening. We made delicious shish-ka-bobs and are trying to prepare for work tomorrow. Ugh.

It's looking pretty grim for the Lakers. DH just exclaimed "I am not watching this bull-you-know-what anymore!". Between the biased refs and missed free throws, he's done watching for tonight. What does James have to say?

Don't tell him I told you, but he looks really cute, too. I am washing his manly, navy blue robe, so he is wearing my white Disney one. He says it is really soft!
