*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Morning girls

Jane--I hope things get better at work.
Amy--I hope you start feeling better.
Kelly & Michelle-- have a good weekend together.

We are getting ready to head to the carnival....I really do not like carnivals...
I should have taken the kids to Silverwood this wknd instead of this.......

This means that I will be getting a new supervisor and my office is going to be folded in with another office, and pretty much everything in my work world is going to change in the next 6 weeks.
Oh Jane, I am so sorry for all you are dealing with right now at work. I am still hoping for the best for you. We don't want you moving away anywhere!!

Busy weekend here. Seeing an out of state friend for lunch tomorrow, then we're taking another couple out for a b-day dinner. Then I made DH promise we will clean out the garage on Sunday and Monday. We've never done this! :scared1: I think I need to buy him a special mask though - he's got a lot of breathing/dust/allergy issues.
Have fun with your friends, and good luck on the garage!

All of a sudden, my younger DD has planned an impromptu trip to Disneyland - next week!!! Looks like it will be me and 3-4 pre-Freshmen girls!! Fun!!
:rotfl: Good luck with that.

Good morning!!!!!!!
I'm up way too early because I had to rescue Marty and his broken bicycle this morning. I heard the phone ringing at about 7:00, but he said he started calling at 6:30! Woops. At least I have a jump start in my day. Have a great day, friends!
Yikes. Good thing you were there to come to his rescue. ;)

Morning all.

The gangs all here!
Have fun with whatever you all end up doing.

I'm enjoying the amazingly rainy and cool weather we've been having here in Phoenix the last couple days. It seems we brought back some of the WA weather with us.
:thumbsup2 :cloud9:

Well, I hope you still have a good time.

Morning ladies!! I woke up way to early this morning. Around 5:30. UGH. I couldn't sleep so I got up, cleaned the house, did some laundry and baked cookies. :rotfl: Now I'm ready for a nap, but instead I've got to get ready to run some errands.

Have a good day, catch ya later!

Hi ladies! I woke up super late this morning (thank you Bella) and was supposed to go to work and do some organization, but instead I'm at home vegging. Sigh. and looking on-line for pet gates (but it looks like baby gates are the better way to go!)

Other than that, it's a beautiful day today and Bella is over her "wake-up and want to run around and play like a crazy dog" period for the day and is asleep at my feet.

Chase is in his window in the sun (but he's fading--sad) and I don't know where Raja is at the moment. At this point I doubt I'll go to the office today.

Tomorrow morning some friends are coming over to have popovers--my one friend is bringing her 22-month twins so I'm sure Bella will be excited to have someone to play with. (they have dogs so are used to them)

No real other plans this weekend--Molly is coming in on Monday and I hope to see her before she goes back. And Stacerita's birthday is Tuesday, but not sure since it's a workday that I'll be able to get over there. and now Stacielee is coming? Omigosh! Actually, Stacielee I just remembered that I WILL be at DCA on Wednesday evening because I have the Celebrate Italy dinner to go to. so maybe we can meet up for a few before that?

Ok everyone--I'll check in later!

Dawn--wish you and Bob were here and we'd barbeque today!

Good morning ladies!! :cloud9:

I'd rather be from Denver right now.:scared:

:rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I like little dinos like that.

At the worse case scenario I lose my job. And, the same kinds of things are happening at my husband's college as well. It looks like his job is going to be changing drastically too as they reorganize this summer. Honestly I am scared to death and I have a feeling that we may end up leaving Vegas sooner than I had anticipated...We had hoped to be here another 3 years or so; now I am thinking that we may be going next summer (or even sooner if one or both of us lose our jobs). So, please think happy thoughts for me and the rest of my office!

Sending good thoughts your way.. I hope everything works out..

Good morning!!!!!!!

Tina to the rescue!

Jane - Hope all works out with your job. It doesn't feel good to be so uncertain about the future. Good luck :flower3:.

If you're nursing, frozen milk-sicles were one of E's faves. It melts really fast...seems that human-mamamilk doesn't freeze as hard as cow-mamamilk, but it was quite brilliant for the times that he was hungry and in pain at the same time.

That's a great idea . I'm going to make some momsicles . Now that it's getting hotter and she is teething, she really like cold stuff so this will be the perfect treat for her since she doesn't really like bottles.

Looks like a lot of people meeting up lately. Sounds like Beth, Jane and Donna had a nice time :thumbsup2. Sorry to hear Amy has Pneumonia. That's horrible.

Looks like a couple of us will be there at the same time in September...care to meet up for a ride or meal?

Sarah

Sounds good to me. I'm always up for meeting up with people.

Good morning!!!!!!!

You sleep through 1/2 hour of phone ringing :scared1:. Man you're a heavy sleeper .

Sounds like you have a busy week planned, but cleaning the garage doesn't sound like much fun.

P.S. I also really enjoyed the AI finale and Kara voice did sound great and man her abs were FLAT!!! (Hope your not upset with me that I voted for Kris ).

I'm enjoying the amazingly rainy and cool weather we've been having here in Phoenix the last couple days. It seems we brought back some of the WA weather with us. It will be all gone by tomorrow and things will heat back up, but it sure has been a wonderful start to the weekend and I've been soaking up every minute of it. :goodvibes

Happy holiday weekend everyone! :flower3:

Callie (or Christine -- whatever you wanna call me is fine!) :rotfl:

Callie- I'm glad you are getting some cooler weather. Everytime I see the temperature rising in Arizona, I feel for you. We all know you really hate the heat. Enjoy it while you can :flower3:.

Try to catch a nap later, but at least you were productive. Sounds like you got a lot done. I plan on taking a nap later (hopefully).

I had five kids sleep over last night and they were out of control :scared:. The baby went to sleep & woke up at her regular time, but it was really late before I got to bed. So now just worn out.

Chase is in his window in the sun (but he's fading--sad)...

Poor Chase. He's such a cute, sweet kitty.

Enjoy vegging today. You are always doing something so it's good to do nothing sometimes.

I'm just saying... if i had a cake ball crown... i would have to award it to Katie... man... those look awesome!

CheryL... aaahhh poor baby chase.. that makes me sad too... i am so sorry.. but you know he doesn't seem to be in pain so that is a blessing. Raja is a beauty.. such a charmer, instantly fell in love. And Bella.. well when she's wild dog running around.. she's really saying.. i love you so much it's great to be alive look at me i'm over here now over there i love you did i tell you i love you see how fast i can run:rotfl: That's puppy language! I wish we were there too! Miss ya Much!

Courtney.. i'm so glad you reposted DebbieLouWho's dino... how cute is that.. i saved it. I hope you have a happy weekend:hug:

I'm updating this post, as i found a yummy recipe for homemade ice cream. I'm making this one tomorrow with a little swirl of salted caramel and pecans in it. I thought I would share it as it looks easy.

Thank the LORD! My ebay auctions are over.... whew... all of those auctions at the same time took some effort let me tell you. I had 50 listings total. 46 sold and 4 didn't. I made $1,334.59 :cool1:

My ds and I watched Enchanted last night for the first time. I had never seen it before...it was cute...what a combo of different movies!

I love that movie! I just watched it with my niece, who turns 8 on Monday... I figured she was old enough for the subject matter. She loved it!

So, is anyone coming out in September for the D23 convention thingie?

What is it?

Happy Dance, happy dance!!! We are going to DL Sept 18- Sept 20, its our first trip in almost 2 years.

Aghh, I sprained my ankle at Riley's school today. See what happens, when I try to be responsible:laughing: Thankfully, we are not going anything this weekend.

YAY for the vacation, BOO for the sprained ankle. I've had my fair share of ankle problems. I was a crazy teenager and broke my ankle in 3 places when I rolled it in a mosh pit. It was a few days after my 18th birthday. 2 years and 2 horrible ankle sprains later, I found out it was still broken and had reconstructive surgery twice. I have an awesome scar though!

So I was in a baking frenzy today. I always bake when I'm down in the dumps because it gets my mind off of things. I made a carrot cake since I had a surplus of carrots, peanut butter cookies & a couple flavors of the infamous cake balls. I also took a pic for you guys :

phpTjvPlZPM.jpg

Those balls look glorious!

AmySue and Jane, I'm sorry about your job situations. Unfortunately and fortunately... I lost my job last November. I have my medical insurance still through COBRA but it costs me a fortune... but worth it because I average 1 ER visit with hospital stay per year for kidney stones (no hospital in 2008 though!), and Rx coverage. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the best! :wizard:

I'm glad you found a recipe Dawn!

Congrats on the auctions Bridgette!

I'm sitting outside, drinking rum, looking at the lake, people watching and rereading Twilight. Can life get any better!? I submit that it cannot!

I hope everyone has been having a great day.

Thanks! I love the Twilight series. It makes me so giddy. Rum sounds amazing... I want a pina colada right now, if I only had mix, I have rum thanks to you! (I had a ton of it but I like the kind you sent me better) Have you ever had malibu passion fruit? mmmm

I might just forgive you if you explain how you made those gorgeous cake balls! :lmao: They look totally professional. How did you do the shape, first of all? Did you dip like candy for the frosting/coating? And did you cone on the drizzle or what?

(you are totally right - the garage thing is not going to be fun at all - but it really has to be done).

Actually one writer had a great thought about Adam -- by not being the "American Idol" he will have more flexibility in his song choices and style for his first CD...

I was also with Cheryl when she bought her Shag prints, and I was so jealous!!
All of a sudden, my younger DD has planned an impromptu trip to Disneyland - next week!!! Who is going to be around Wednesday and Thursday? At least that looks like the days we will be there. It's still up in the air, but I was able to get a room at HoJo's with the Ent. rate, so I have to make sure by Monday or cancel the room. Looks like it will be me and 3-4 pre-Freshmen girls!! Fun!!

If you do end up coming, I might make Wed. I need to go there to see the new Vinylmations that just came out on Friday. I would have to leave early, around 2:30 or 3.

I am not going for that but will be there in September the 16th-21st. When is the convention?

Looks like a couple of us will be there at the same time in September...care to meet up for a ride or meal?

Anyone know the convention dates for D23? I am planning on going to it. I think a meetup would be fun with so many of us there around that time.

VICKI, will you PM me about Burbank dates for D23 members? I don't always read what they send me... Thx.

Ohhhh--rum! However, I would really like an Italian rum cake right now . . . . yummmm. Not that I need any food--I ended up not working today and made a Costco run instead.

If I were to make cake balls (now I'm thinking Italian frosting with rum on cake balls . . . . ) I would use a mini ice cream scoop to make the balls. But I would be interested to know how Katie does it--I think she said she had some candy tools that helped make it easier.

I'm going to the Celebrate Italy dinner on Wed. but probably couldn't be there early enough to meet up with you. Bummer.

The D23 convention is Sept. 10-13

Hi everyone!
I hope you all are having a great night. I spent the last 3 hours reading this entire thread. I have been dis-less for almost 2 weeks. That is just WRONG! :sad2:

I love all the balls talk. I actually make the Oreo Truffle balls during holidays. My specialty is Mint Oreo Truffles.:lovestruc They are yummy! And addicting. I have never heard of using cake---which sound soooo much easier! I am definitely going to try that out.

I read sooo much and the only thing I can remember is balls.:rotfl:

I agree, that sounds SO good! Let us know and I may make it, too!

Nope, can't get any better than that, unless you're drinking a Parrot Bay Wave Runner!! Yummy!!

If you do end up coming, I might make Wed. I need to go there to see the new Vinylmations that just came out on Friday. I would have to leave early, around 2:30 or 3.

I think we're going to CA on Wednesday, noon-6pm. I'll let you know for sure when I know.

Well Hello There Miss WendyLouWho:wave2:
How are you? Sounds like you are fabulous, at least for this very minute.:bride:

I am drinking a fine glass of Scott Chardonnay and surfing the web. Going between here and the Alaska cruise threads at CruiseCritic. DH is going back and forth between a Nascar race and the Laker game. He keeps screaming about the dumb *** who keeps missing his free throws. Whatever! I am just not into sports.

Congrats to Boo Bear on the ebay $$$ - I LOVE MONEY!

Oh January, where have you been all our lives!!

Wendy, I'm about to start re-read the Twilight series too. Rum sounds good right now.. Malibu rum.. With pineapple juice.. Oooo!!!

MTV is showing the entire Star Wars Saga this weekend. And yes I am watching it. I hardly watch MTV though...
