*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Happy Sunday girls! I'm enjoying my last weekend in AZ spending time with neighbors and friends. Happy to say goodbye to the extreme temps we're having. The moving truck arrives tomorrow and then the next 3 days are going to fly by.

I probably won't post again until I'm in WA. Hopefully I'll be able to read about the Vegas trip before I go. :)

Love to all!

Good Morning Girls!

I had a long reply set up and then my computer dumped it! So.......hello and big hugs to all! I have been so super-busy with work these last two weeks, and we got a couple of last minute jobs, so we had to push our trip to the mountains back to this afternoon. Originally we were going to leave on Friday, but we couldn't turn down these jobs. So as soon as I set up a bridal shower in a couple of hours, I will be outta here!

Have a good week, ladies!

Good Luck Callie! I hope your journey is a smooth one.

Tina-I'm always so impressed by how busy you are. You must be running one fabulous company. It's starting to sound like there's more work around than ever before, and I bet you continue to get busier. Congrats on the success! I wish I was closer to enjoy some of your cooking and friendship. :flower3:

Good Sunday to All !!

Kelly what tragic news for the Blevins family. They will be in our prayers as they start to rebuild their lives. Very frightening to lose everything to a fire!!

Safe travels Callie as you make your move to Washington. Did you decide to stay in Medford or Redding??

Welcome back to our Vegas Divas.....can't wait to hear all about it!!!

To everyone else, hope you're having a great weekend & have a super week!!!!

Love and Light for everyone.. i ended up getting really sick at the end of the trip with my asthma and i'm still feeling really bad.

The trip was wonderful for everyone for different reasons and in different ways.

See that's the best thing about going on a girls only trip................... it's YOUR vacation... you can do anything you want... and if you ask 3 different people they would have many different experiences. But all would have a great time!

I'm going to work on a mini trip report after i come back from the doctor tomorrow.

Good Morning Ladies :) I went to Studio 365 in DTD yesterday to check it out. It's definitely a makeover for teens or pre-teens. Some of their clothes are cute. Here is a pic:

Yeah Callie! Safe Travels to you. If you stop in Redding, the Best Western is pretty nice and has a fabulous breakfast and a pretty big pool.

Oh, I hope you get to feeling better quickly. Darn Asthma!

Well, I had date night with Bill last night and it was really nice to be child free. We did a bit of shopping at Big Lot (I had never been to that store, and may not go back, but did find a couple of good things), and then we hit the late happy hour at Arnies, which is a view restaurant in old town Mukilteo that looks out over the water, the ferry, and Callies new home on Whidbey Island. It was just a lovely way to spend the evening, and truly appreciated as we don't really have many childfree opportunities. We watched TV when we got home. It was a really good show.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope you all have wonderful Sunday. I am so glad to have one more day before I head back to work tomorrow, and because we have been staying home on the weekends and not doing baseball, the house is not a complete disaster. Yeah!

Hello ladies!!!!! I've missed you all so much! I can't believe I was off line for a whole week!! I simply didn't have time to update. Too much fun going on!!! :yay:  Whooo.

I had such a blast with everyone. Seriously, so much fun I was telling them I'd skip going to DL again and do another Vegas trip. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I just don't have time to read back. I hope everyone is doing ok. :grouphug:

Tonight Ruben and I are going to see The Lion King. It was our 16 year anniversary yesterday and we are celebrating this weekend.

I just wanted to check in. I hope on the next Vegas trip we'll get many more of you to join in. Trust me, it was a blast. :cool1:

Take care, and I'll try to catch up with ya'll soon.

HOwdy ladies!

So I will do my best to catch up here.

Heather, So glad that your procedure was quick and you didn't feel a thing! All that worrying for naught. How wonderful, that is was. I have question. :rolleyes1 Do you want your DH to be at a hotel for him to get away from you, or do you want some private time at the hotel with him? :rolleyes1:laughing:

Welcome home to our missing Divas. Looking forward to your trips reports! :cool1:

Dawn, I missed you! I hope you get to feeling better now! Asthma is a scary thing. My Sister has it really bad. Please take care!

Brigette
, Have fun on your road trip! I forgot who is with you? Your Mom? Or a friend? Maybe once you get to good ole California, all your hives will be a thing of the past!!!:yay:

Kelly, So sad about that family. So scary too!!!
BTW..........it is piping hot here too!:headache:

Jane, That is the absolute pits about your place. I hope you find a great replacement real soon. I hope Tys big owie heals good too!:goodvibes

So Cristabel, Did your parents install the carpet after all? Or are they going to try and get the right color? Sorry if I am a little confused. Sometimes I read everything pretty quick, and I don't quite get the stories right.

Pix, the new store looks like alot of fun. I was reading about it over at Miceage. They had all of the packages listed for the "makeovers." I still think it would behoove them to also give "princess packages", as some little ones might just want to have a makeover without having to go into the parks. princess:

Linda, Laurie, Cheryl, and all others in our somewhat age range........:rolleyes1
Do I remember Farrah Faucet? Yikes............I also had her "do!" Who didn't at that time? My DH's fondest memories of her, is in a wet "wife beaters" T-shirt! Braless of course!:rotfl: Very sad about her. :sad2:
As for Michael Jackson. What a gifted entertainer!!! Didn't particulary care for him in recent years, but the music industry will miss him dearly. I had no idea that he was just 3 years younger than me.

Tracey, I love date nights too! So what did you watch on TV?:confused::confused:

Have a nice last weekend Callie!! And have a beautiful drive to your "new home!"

BETH! Hey I just noticed you checked in. It was mighty quiet around here with you and the gang. Good thing for me though...................it was easier to catch up. :rolleyes1

Anywhos............welcome back!!!

Vicki, Hope you can catch up on some sleep!

To all the "Drivebys".....................Back at ya!!!!

Well the little munchins are coming over in a little while to swim. My DIL is bringing the goods to make fish taco later on for dinner. We grill the fish and top it with avacado con relish! Yum yum! I know that Beth will want some too!

Oh and I forgot to mention that yesterday I helpled give a big bridal shower, for one of my very good friend's DD. About 33 people for appetizers, lunch and dessert. All cooked from scratch. I was pooped, but it is something I like to do. People have remarked how my friends and I should go into the catering business. No thanks! I love to do it for special ocassions and parties, but not for a job. It is alot of work, as Tina knows for sure!!! Tina, I give you kudos!!!!!!

Just wanted to share but I got a cute Chip N' Dale T-shirt from World of Disney yesterday. I found a pic of it. Here's what it looks like:
2uj1t0x.jpg

There was a sticker on it that said it's 100% organic and I believe the proceeds go towards helping the environment. :thumbsup2 Oh and there is also a new store that opened called Little Miss Matched that is to the right of the Uva Bar in DTD (next to Build-A-Bear). They had cute flip flops for kids and adults. They also sell socks. The patterns are funky but fun and some are really cute. Yesterday they said that the women's flip flops were on sale for $10 each, the men's for $5/EA and the kids were on sale too. I didn't get a chance to shop there but just took a quick look because my bf and I were rushing to make it to Transformers 2. Here's their website though: http://www.littlemissmatched.com/ Their website has many items and their stuff is on sale. Their flip flops are supposed to be very comfortable.

MELODY!! How are you? Hope you are doing well. :cutie: I thought it was cute inside and they have cute Mickey shirts for gils to wear. I think it looks fun for girls who aren't in the mood for a Princess makeover or just want to try a different look. :goodvibes

My DH's fondest memories of her, is in a wet "wife beaters" T-shirt! Braless of course!:rotfl: Isn't it sad that later on, one of her assets ended up taking her life. I tell ya, breast cancer is a very scary thing. :sad2: So sad. :sad2:

That is so sad. :guilty: Did you see that Billy Mays died as well? He has a show on Discovery (I think) that Ruben and I enjoyed watching. He was also 50 and seemed full of life and energy.

By the way, you have no idea how much you were missed on this Vegas trip! We were saying how much we missed you and Linda, and everyone else. I REALLY hope next time we can get more gals to come with!

:rolleyes1 I've been having way too much fun this week............when I read that, my mind went to a different place.

Gotta go pack! Ruben and I are going out again tonight. We're seeing the Lion King and then spending the night at Red Rock hotel. Last night we went to dinner on the Strip and spent the night at Green Valley hotel.
It's going to be hard to get back to reality after this week and weekend!!!

My hubby's & my best guess about Billy Mays is he died from a slow head bleed. He was on a flight that made a rough landing when one of the wheels blew & he had stuff hit him in the head. The airlines was quick to also point out that he wasn't wearing his seat belt during the landing. His wife said he was normal & fine & he even joked on twitter about having a hard head....... Such a shocker.

Awww! :hug:That is so sweet. You must have missed the older motherly types.

Oh and I guess I need to go back and edit my post about Farrah Faucet. I guess she didn't die of breast cancer. It was another kind of cancer, in a very personal place. :sad2:

Have a great time on your get away with Rueben. I saw the Lion King in NYC, and loooooooooooved it. We plan on seeing it in Vegas in October when we are coming for the Barret Jackson Car Auction!! I hope this time when we come, I will have a few minutes to meet up with you Vegas gals!:grouphug:

.

Oh Dawn, that's a shame. :sick::rose:
I'm really sorry to hear this because you must be feeling very bad to head to the doctor. Wishing you some quick relief. You are too sweet to be hurting!

Yeah Callie! Safe Travels to you.

and Callies new home on Whidbey Island.

!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao: (about the tv). Safe trip to Callie - is she living on Whidbey Island now? I've heard it's lovely.

Just make it in a cooler time and I think you'll get even more gals coming. We missed you, Beth!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!!
I'm so happy you are seeing The Lion King (it is your first time, isn't it?)

That is so sad. :guilty: Did you see that Billy Mays died as well? He has a show on Discovery (I think) that Ruben and I enjoyed watching. He was also 50 and seemed full of life and energy.

Studio 365 looks like fun for the older crowd. I agree that it's very smart of Disney to do that, especially with the Bibbity Bobbitty Boutique open now.

I'm home today, and DH is home sick. I need to clean, but don't feel the best myself. We will see what the day has in store!

Heather

Heather, take it easy. You need to be well to take care of DH...
Studio 365= very smart.

Kelly, sorry to hear about that family. Sad.

It has been a bit sad around here. We have a friend who was friends with MJ back when Liz Taylor got married at Neverland. He used to have dinner with MJ once a month. They still talked on the phone but MJ owed him money so they were never as close as they once were. But our friend is very very sad.

Summer has come here - I think it was in the 90s today.

Hi to everyone.

Hi girls!
I got home late, late last night. I had a long drive home from Spokane last night.

The plane ride was pretty interesting.
A lady with 2 kids an infant and maybe 7 yo, her husband gave her something to calm her nerves on the flight. Anyways she was non responsive on the plane. They were not sure what was wrong with her. She was talking, the only info they got was from the daughter. It was pretty scary, no one knew what was wrong with her. When we landed they had people at the gate waiting to talk to her and medics waiting.
Thankfully she seemed to be ok when they wheeled her down to baggage claim.

So that was my excitement for the day. I am glad she was ok.

I hope eveyone is doing ok.

Jane~ I hope everything works out.

Dawn~ I hope all goes well at the dr.

Beth~ I hope you have a great time at the Lion King tonight.

Good evening everyone!
We went to church today and afterwards went back home to pack for the beach. The drive to Carpinteria was LONG. It was very windy so I decided to not get in the FREEZING water. Osita was on edge the whole time. We were sectioned off with the other dogs and I feel she was overwhelmed and stressed out. She is never around dogs but is pretty civil to them. She and Clara, the dog who lives behind us, bark at each other and play bow to each other, but that's really it.

Stacie, Beth & Dawn - I'm glad to know you are all back home safely!

Stacie - Did you have to go straight back to work or did you get some time to recuperate?

Dawn - Asthma really sucks! I used to suffer from it a lot when I was a kid. Now I'm only affected when it's cold out.

Beth - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! That is great you & Ruben are going to see The Lion King....and stay at a hotel
;) :lmao:

Melody - My dad called Brent's and spoke to the guy who took his order and he said they would just install it, order the correct measurements in the right colors, come back in 1-2 weeks to tear out the brand new carpet and replace it with the correct colors. What a loss!:sad2:

I'm glad our Divas are back because this board was very lonely. We did not have Stacie & Beth's wit to amuse us or Dawn's super lovely huggy posts :cutie:

I'm off to watch the season finale of Next Food Network Star!

That is so sad. :guilty: Did you see that Billy Mays died as well? He has a show on Discovery (I think) that Ruben and I enjoyed watching. He was also 50 and seemed full of life and energy.

:rolleyes1 I've been having way too much fun this week............when I read that, my mind went to a different place.

Hi Beth!
I wish I was with you guys, too.:cutie: Thanks for thinking of me, that is so sweet. We spent this weekend in San Diego - Sea World on Sat and the Zoo on Sun. Our Zoo passes expire 6/30 and we wanted to get one last trip in. But it was too soon after our cruise as I am completely exhausted. Plus it was HOT! We used sun screen, but my ears got red as did the back of my neck. OUCH! But I cannot complain about the beautiful weather we had in SD because when we arrived home today at 5 pm it was 104!:scared1:

Anyway, hi to everyone, I have to read back tomorrow what I missed the last two days. Glad the Vegas girls had a good time, Dawn, I hope your asthma is ok.
