Girlfriend weekend getaway - hotel w/i walking distance to Citywalk

My girlfriend & I (mid 40's) will be visiting in May for 3 nights & someone suggested we stay around the Universal area because we won't have a car & there is lots to do. Checked the 3 Universal hotel prices - WOW! Expensive - anyone know of anything else in the area that is NICE & not quite so expensive.

I would suggest paying the money to stay on site. It's well worth it. It pays for itself with the express front of the line to the parks. It is best to get your tickets in advance, also. I see you are from Coropolis. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Airport there last week. Great hotel! Lisa

I also suggest you pay the extra money and stay onsite.
You'll feel like you are a part of the action, and the short walk to the park is a nice perk.

I totally agree with the others. Stay on-site. All three of the hotels are within walking distance of the parks and Citywalk - well worth it. Plus you get FOTL - FABULOUS!

You could check and see if they have any entertainment rates available. We got a good rate with those one year. Now since we are AP holders we get a good rate with our AP's. Even with no discount I would still stay on site. Splitting the costs it wont really be to bad.

The annual pass rates are pretty good for May. You might want to consider getting one since it does make a difference. Exactly when in May are you going? That makes a difference too. In mid May, RPR is $139/night with the annual pass.

Go to www.loewshotels.com and use APH for the code for annual pass and AAA for the code for AAA. You can compare prices with the three Orlando hotels and the different discounts to see what would work the best.

We always stay onsite and don't bring a car.
