Girl Scouts ticket experation?

Hi, a few years ago a friend’s daughter worked her butt off selling Girl Scout cookies and won Disneyland tickets. Then the pandemic happened etc and they just realized the tickets expire on 12/31. i know that usually tickets retain their dollar value and you can use that to purchase new ones, paying whatever difference in price that currently exist.

wondering if anyone knows if these “prize” tickets are handled the same way? my friend is currently on the phone on hold with disney but thought i’d check here to see if anyone had any info?
