...have been dropped from this year's cookie sale. We have something called "Cafe Cookies" instead, which are a cinnamon/spice/brown sugar cookie.

Double Dutch was chocolate-chocolate-chip, and we loooooved them.

Any chance this is just our service unit, and some other Girl Scouts out there are still selling them?

We wont find out what the sweetpea's troop will be selling for another week or so. I hope they do sell them. We had a lot of sales because of those cookies. I thought they tasted a bit like a squashed down brownie. Not that I didn't like them. I can let you know if our troop will be selling them.

We have a leaders meeting monday so hopefully we will find out than. We are Brownies and it is our first year selling. Hopefully all goes well. We are still trying to collect money from a mom who bounced a check for the nut sale.

They've been dropped here too, saw the first order forms today. Perhaps it's going to depend on who your bakery is. I know there are two different bakeries depending on the side of the country you're on.

We've got Cafe cookies too - I am not too crazy about them personally. Little Brownie Bakers is our bakery. Our cookies went up to $3.50 a box this year.

I'm just waiting for my thin mints and lemon coolers. Time to restock the freezer with the thin mints, lol.

I've got a cub scout, and he'll never know the joys of the cookie sales. That was my FAVORITE thing about being a girl scout! I loved selling those cookies!

We have ABC Bakers and no longer have Pinatas and Animal Treasures. We now have Thanks A lots- which is a short bread cookie with the bottom dipped in chocolate. We also have the cartwheel which is a cinnamon oatmeal cookie.

Also if you have a Girl Scout or a girl scout troop and are from Iowa, Montana, North Dakota or Pennsylvania, will you please check out this thread. Thank you in advance

We have these - but we call them All Abouts! Little Brownie Baker is our baker, too.

Bummer about the Double Dutch - we sold a ton of them last year, but I guess we Disboarders are the only ones who did.

I was surprised about the price hike too - but it has been several years since prices last went up, so I was expecting it. But I do wish they'd gone straight to $4 - spare us the extra math!

They dropped Double Dutch for us too and added the Cafe cookie. Our cookies are 4.00/box, same as last year.

I just lost my two sources of cookie sellers... I'm just trying to find someone to sell to me this year :rotfl:

Actually I hope the Double Dutch was replaced with that other... sounds much better to me. Everyone I knew didn't care for the double dutch ones at all, so I'd be happy to try something new.

Just bring on my lemon coolers!!!! :teeth:

Ours have been $3.50 for 2 to 3 years, if I remember correctly.

I could eat a case of Lemon Coolers by myself!!! Thank goodness neither DD is in girl scouts anymore.

I highly doubt anyone is going to be selling Double Dutch cookies, since their are only 2 official bakers and neither one is selling them. Only way would be if someone had them stored in their freezer since the last sale.

I've never had a Lemon Cooler cookie, they look good. We have the Lemon Pastry creme and we have been told they are going by the wayside. We will no longer have them next year. I wonder what will replace them hopefully it is something good.

Cafe cookies replaced couble dutch here too and so far out of 100 boxes sold only one box if the cafe cookie. I was glad no one asked me about them though becvause we sampled them at the cookie mom meeting and they had no taste..it was like chewing a piece of cardboard! Even my daughter that loves cookies took one bite and didn't like it....I tried giving them to my 76 year old mom but she said they had no taste too... we got rid of the rest of the box

I think the Cafe Cookies taste like stale snickerdoodles.

I'm glad the Pittsburgh council upped their price this year to $3.50. We live just outside of Pittsburgh and our council's cookies were at $3.50 last year. I got tired of people whining about why should they buy from me when so-and-so in the office is selling their cookies for only $3.00.

I want Double Dutch back! :guilty: Out of 150 sold so far only 6 are the new ones, I guess that's good, since people seem to not like them so far!

We use ABS bakery and have the Thanks-alot and cartwheel cookies and our cookies went from $ 2.50 last year to $3.00 this year . still a great deal compared to other places.
