We are going to be at DL July 21-27 for the first time. I got tickets to a taping of Girl Meets World on Tuesday at 4:30. Anybody gone to a taping? Wondering about travel time to get there and any other general suggestions? We will have a car. Is this worth doing and what's the possibility of us getting back to DL before closing to catch a few last rides...

Where does it tape? Those things don't have a set schedule--they are done when they are done. So if something on the set goes wrong it can take a long time.

Consider your day completely booked with Girl Meets World. The taping is in Los Angeles, which due to traffic ... you'll want to leave for no later than noon from Anaheim. You'll get there around 130, so grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant and then park your car. These events are often overbooked, so arriving in line early is good. The taping will say that it'll start at 430, but they'll want you in line earlier.

And to tape a 30 minute show? Takes about 4 hours. Not joking on this. It'll take many many many takes, and lots of time to reset the stage. But it's so awesome and fun to attend and definitely worth doing.

I would park first, then send someone to get sandwiches at the Subway. If the taping is at 4:30, they expect you there 90 minutes early, 1:30 may be too late. Also, there is no bathroom available until about 30 minutes prior to the taping, so plan to take turns going to Starbucks and making a small purchase to have access to that bathroom.

I haven't been to Girl Meets World, but I went to Fuller House last month. I'm not sure if the crowds are about the same, but I was in line by 11:30 and number 46. They let in 50 people that day. If you want to be guaranteed to get in and not waste the driving time, get there early. You likely won't have time to get back to DL to get in rides that day, depending on how late they're open.

Yup. No taping is truly "guaranteed" unless you are VIP. You'll need to be in line LONG before they say you need to. If you really care about seeing the taping, I would be in line no later than Noon - but closer to 11 a.m. to be on the safe side, and be prepared to spend half your day waiting in line to possibly get in to the taping and the other half sitting around waiting for things to tape and happen. And to also be without things like your cell phone if you get in to the taping. If it's at Television City, they make you check your cell phones in when you enter the area.

Thanks for the info. I knew it was first come first serve and was wondering how far ahead of time we would need to be there. I certainly wouldn't want to drive all the way over there and not get in. My younger daughter is super excited but the rest of my family is just iffy on the idea. We can't leave before noon so from the replies it looks like it might end up being a no go...

I went to a taping of The Voice and granted it's a two hour show, we were there ALLLLLLLLLLL DAYYYYYYYYY LONGGGGGG. Had to get there early as like others said- it was a first come first served deal, but I want to say from the time we parked till the time we got back to our car it was a total of 8 or 9 hours spent. So worth it as my Husband and I were huge fans of one of the contestants and Blake Shelton waved to me while I was waiting to use the porta potty

I don't know if things have changed in the past 3 years, but here is a thread I remembered finding when we were deciding about getting tickets to a taping last year. We decided not to even try it based on the experiences in this thread-- -but again, something might have changed since then:

If you look at the comments to this 2016 blog, she suggests getting in line at the latest at 11:00 a.m. for a 4:00 p.m. taping:

We had tickets to a taping of King of Queens in 2003. Started around 4pm, we were there til nearly 10pm I believe. Granted, that morning we did Universal and not DL, so it was a bit closer.
