Well, after having a breakdown the other night with DH I have decided to change things for me and my family.

I have Reactive Hypoglycemia and could stand to lose about 8 pounds. So i have decided to go back on Atkins.

It is almost the end of day 2. Night time is usully the worst time for my snacking so my day is not over yet.

The strange thing is that I feel better already. I was able to get through the day without taking a nap and I haven't snapped at anyone at all today. I just need to remember this when the junk food tries to tempt me back.

Hi Ginger!!! Welcome to WISH!

I'm gonna help you start out right with a good luck cheer!

Well, day 3 is almost done.....yeah. I just wish this darn cold would go away. I felt worse today then I did yesterday. Which is probably good because I have had no appetite at all and have had to force myself to eat. But I am having gym withdrawls and can't wait to get back to my routine.

I think part of the secret to my success will be that instead of looking at this as a diet (which is what I have done in the past) is to look at it as keeping myself healthy. And make sure that I am no in a bad mood all the time. I used to be a fun mom who played with her kids but lately I have been so tired and cranky that I have been interested in doing much of anything. So this is so much more then losing a few pounds, it's gaining back the fun that I had in my life.

I am a bit concerned about our upcoming trip. We will be driving from Florida to Wyoming which means alot of temptations. We will be eating alot on the road so I need to make sure I make good decisions. I am going to take some paper bowls and plastic silverware so I can order a hamburger or chicken sandwich and just get rid of the bun. I will also be taking my own salad dressing so I can order salads instead of fries. I am planning one slip up which will be fried chicken in Yellowstone.....but I will make sure to have veggies with it :teeth:

Good for you!!!! Your plan for success looks awesome. Slipups are okay, but planned ones are even better! You'll be doing a lot of walking. If you do slip up more, enjoy it and get back OP tomorrow/next meal! You can do this! :goodvibes :cheer2:

Thanks for all the encouragment!!!

Well, day 4 is almost behind me. :cool1: I did have one little slip up but is was an accident. I made meatloaf for dinner and I put ketchup in it.........I forgot that was a bad thing until I was halfway through dinner. Oh well, I think I am still under my carb count for the day anyways. This darn cold is driving me nuts. Tomorrow it will be a week since I have made it to the gym. I think I might try to go even if it's for an hour. I just don't want to spread my germs all over the place, even though I am sure that is where I got my cold from :sad2:

But I do feel better. I made it through another day without napping. Next week I should be feeling better and I can get back to my routine and get to the gym and I should really be able to tell the differance then.

Until tomorrow :goodvibes

Day 5 almost done......yeah!!!! And I finally got to the gym today.

I am feeling better. I am finally feeling like the children are getting their mom back. I am so much more patient. And I can sit and listen to them without doing 3 things at ones, the anxiety feeling is gone.

Now the big test will be getting through the weekend, which is usually the hardest for me. Especially if we go to WDW, there are so many temptations to deal with.

I just have to remind myself....it's for my children!

Yeah for me, I am almost done with day 6. And we went to our favorite mexican resturant for dinner and I did so good. I had a taco salad but did not eat the shell. I was concerned because the chips and salsa are usually my downfall but I waited until we were ready to leave and I had one chip! Just one........I didn't think I could do it but I did.

Now I just need to get to the gym next week and kick up the cardio and I should be on the road to recovery!
