Ging Gang Goolie 2008, 23rd May, Tal-y-Bont On Usk

sorry for the quick departure this afternoon guys, my nan (she is 84) had to go to hospital this morning for some eye tests, I rang the hospital at 3.30 as she wasn't home to be told "we can't tell you anything, please come to the hospital as soon as you can" of course total panic, I left work, rushed up there and she is sat in the chair like the Queen, they let me bring her home at 6.00, she just needs a follow up in a few months. I am so cross at the nurse I spoke too, she made me feel that there was really bad news on the way - anyways huge relief she is all fine and home - we had a nice chat whilst waiting for the consultant, and she wants me to tell you that she is appalled that you are going to spend most of the weekend drinking, when there is such beautiful scenery to see LOL

:rolleyes1

how scary for you Jules, that nurse should be ashamed of herself scaring you like that ! im glad your nan is ok x x

That's terrible Jules, how naughty of that nurse. Glad she is OK and tell your Nan from me that I am ashamed of myself too :rotfl: I will do my best to appreciate the scenery while I am getting drunk ;)

we can all raise our glasses to the mountain in her honour :lmao:

Jules, am I right in thinking that we need to pay our share of the party tent when we arrive?

Just had a cunning thought, if I recall correctly (and I'm being lazy and not reading back through the thread;) ) wasn't the tent £130, and didn't we all agree that the adults should pay £10 each?

If so, by my poor mathematics I reckon that £10 per adult will cover the tent and the horsey thing (there being 15 adults) - just thinking it might prove easier than everyone giving you 90p and you having pockets full of change - admittedly as long as the guy is happy doing it that way.

Jules,
Pleased about your grandmother's good report.

I hope everyone has a splendid time at the get together. Are you still calling this house party moved outdoors a campout? I am a bit concerned that in the hundreds of replies on your thread I see no planning about how you're going to work the camp guard schedule. Surely you'll need to keep watch for rampaging sheep. Be careful now and have fun. Susan

Could anyone offer a suggestion, I am bringing milk, coleslaw and coffee, any suggestions as to what anyone else would like that I can bring?

That is a cracking idea, are all adults happy to give me £10 when you get there, I will then tell Mark that I will pop up with it during the evening, if he is not happy with that, I can always give him the £150 when we check in

No probs Jules, whatever is easier for you, just make sure you go up with the money before going to sleep:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok so ten quid per adult for party tent and horse thingy, how much is it to camp again I've forgotten!?

As we are arriving late on Friday have the BBQ before we arrive and we will have a car picnic on the way.

no probs about the dosh Julesy

and don't forget the vodka jelly!!

I wouldn't worry, Claire - I don't think Tony and Theresa will be there much before 8pm. We're going to have something ready for them when they arrive.
