Ging Gang Goolie 2008, 23rd May, Tal-y-Bont On Usk

Looks like the crispy is going to be a busy man and much mentioning of beer, its ok for you lot, I have to put up with him snoring in the tent after mucho alcohol. Although, last year I remember that the Stringers hear me beating him when the snoring wouldn't stop.

Speaking of The Stringers, will there be an Old Grey Mare this year Kev?

Don't worry Jules - if our tent is anywhere near yours, you won't be able to hear Ian's snoring over mine :lmao:

Could be worse, you could talk in your sleep, or dial telephone numbers on your sleep:scared1: :scared1: :lmao: :lmao:

looks like ian is going to be very busy!

Is there enough beer in Wales to keep him supple and tent-wise?

Hmmm, is there enough beer in Wales for Ian - that's a toughie :rotfl:

Shall we start a list of who's bringing what so we know if we've got everything covered?

Given that Jules and Ian discovered a Morrisons in Brecon, I wonder whether it would make sense to take sufficient for Friday evening and Saturday morning and then take it from there. With more people going this year, I don't know how we'd go about estimating quantities for the entire weekend and, if the weather's awful, we could end up having to eat at the pub. Discuss. :teeth:

Do we need a recce of what cooking equipment we've got? It took a long time to cook breakfast last year given that we need to cook bacon, eggs, beans and fried bread simultaneously, heat water for tea, cook porridge, etc. I suppose we can take electric kettles given that we've got electricity. We could even take toasters. :confused3 We've got the mini barbecue that we took last year.

Deb, I was planning on doing exactly that - just bringing enough bacon and eggs etc. for 1 brekkie.

We haven't got any cooking equipment as such but we were talking about buying a couple of the big disposable BBQs, which should assist with the cooking of meals. I'm sure the boys can all argue over who is going to do the actual cooking ;)

ETA, I am happy to eat at the pub on the basis that it serves alcohol as well :)

that makes sense food wise Deb :)

we will still need to bring some sundries with us though ... there is no point everyone showing up with ketchup and noboday bringing any tea towels

we have no cooking equipment but i can bring some disposable bbq's and i have some knives and forks left from last year :)

Great idea, Morrisons is just down the road, and opens on Sunday too, its not the biggest Morrisons I have seen but certainly has all that we would need, we also found a very good butcher. As for the pub, we had a good meal at The White Hart, nothing fancy, but the lasagna was very tasty.

We have two gas stoves, and a portable bbq, which if I remember correctly is about the same size as yours Deb.

As for disposable bbq's, Ian reminded me last night that these seem to be a no no at the site now ....

Is it because they are directly on the ground Jules? Wonder if they put them on bricks or something to get them off the ground they'd be ok:confused3

The car's going to be packed to the gills as it is! Surely we're not advocating taking bricks now as well? :scared1:
