Gina & Carl's Wedding - 6/22/12 - Swan/Ohana ~ TR Day 4 Wedding Ceremony 8/9

The flower balls are amazing! Would you mind if I "steal" your idea for them? I would love to make some for my picnic!
I am really enjoying reading your pj.

Very cute photo albums and great fans! I did a lot of work on projects too but no actual making anything. I know how it goes with weekends being all wedding work. That is most definitely happening to me.

Teresa

I agree, sometimes I'm doing a lot of wedding stuff but it isn't tangible where I can show it off.

Steal away. I'm sure I stole them from someone else. Let me know if you have questions on making them as I feel like a pro now ;) I have a bunch of outdoorsy ideas in my wordpress blog (my first page has a link) if you are looking for some other ideas. I haven't posted most of that on DIS.

I made two today (mickey kissing balls) They are great! I will post them on my pj.

Happy Planning!

1 month!!! I can't believe my wedding is in 1 month!!!

I finally have my ring. Here are a couple of pictures, one along, and one with my E ring.

Saturday I went shopping for dresses for our girls. Trying to please a 15, 11, and 9yo is not an easy task, but we did it. We found 3 dresses, different styles but the same color. My youngest has the fanciest dress, and I think the two older girls' dresses look fairly similar. I'm happy with the decisions and even happier with the prices which were $10, $20, and $30. Can't beat that!

I mailed off the paperwork for the marriage license. Hopefully it will come soon. I also mailed out most of the luau invites. I was waiting on a few addresses so I need to do those and get those out.

I had to work this past Sunday so I didn't have time to do anything else on my to do list, but I hope to get a ton done this weekend. I have to. And I have to start with following up with my dress. I don't even know if it is in yet. Ugh!

One month!! :dancer:

I love your rings-- just so gorgeous!

Your girls look awesome; I love their dresses! They're super cute too!!

Dress vent... I haven't heard that my dress is in yet so I called House of Brides to see what's up. I did try calling over a week ago and left a message to have someone to call me back and no one ever did. I actually talked to someone today (but not a manager since the manager isn't in yet). She said she couldn't find any notes on my dress being in. UGH!!!! She said she will have the manager call me when she gets in. They didn't even have me scheduled for a fitting next Tuesday, which I set up when I bought the dress. This is the last stress I need right now!!!! Keep in mind, we are leaving about 5 days before the wedding to drive so that is less than 1 month to get my dress altered and ready to go. Please send some pixie dust my way that my dress comes in and I can get the alterations started next week.

Dress update... So the manager called asking if I paid anything for the dress and asked if I could fax my receipt over. I'm working from home today so I asked for an email address to scan it and send it. She also said my fitting was canceled. Can we say mini heart attack??? Fortunately I had the receipt handy so I was able to scanned it and sent it over, trying to hold back the tears and thinking the worst. The store receipt has amount paid listed as $0, but I have the receipt from the CC machine saying I had paid the full amount. Whew! The manager emailed back saying the dress should be in next week and we can set up the fitting when they call that the dress has been received. I still don't have warm and fuzzy feelings here, but at least that is a little better to know that the dress should be in next week.

Oh my! (hugs) I dispise wedding dress drama! I hope it all gets resolved soon! Good Luck! And your ring is beautiful!
And the dresses for the girls look great too!

Oh goodness gracious on the dress! This post reminded me I need to check on my dress.....should be done this week or that is what my dress maker said....I think I will call her tomorrow

Hopefully yours is in. I don't want anyone else having these stresses too.

It is stressful! The most stressful part of this whole thing too.

Good news! House of Brides called last night and said my dress was in :cool1::cool1: I asked for a fitting appt and she started with June 7. I said you do realize I need my dress by June 15. (I really have a few days cushion in there but they don't need to know that.) She asked how many alterations did I need. I thought to myself I haven't even tried on the dress yet. I told her I need the length and some other alterations, at least that was what I needed from the sample I tried on at the store. So she move the appt to June 5. Hopefully that is enough time to to get everything done.

My day of planner emailed me to introduce herself. Her name is Jayne. any Just Marry ladies know here? I guess Karen won't be there the day off.

I have a busy weekend planned. I want to get so much wedding stuff done. Wish me luck!

Good Luck getting all your stuff done this weekend!
And I swear, the sweet girls in the bridal shops sure know how to make a girl sweat it out! ;) I think they are used to the timelines but when we are on the buying end it is soooo stressful!

Just caught up. I'm so happy your dress is in now, how frustrating! I would have been having a major panic attack myself. I hope alterations are easy and you can get your dress home soon.

I've never heard of Jayne, but there were a few other planners present at my VR and they were all really nice and good at what they do. I wish I had thought to remember their names but we were introduced so quickly and I had my mind on other things.

I like the dresses for the girls. How cool that you found 3 different dresses all in the same color. They look happy with them, nice job!

Your ticker says 4 weeks!!

I love the color of the girls dresses!
Cute rings :thumbsup2
Thats good that ur dress is in... Don't worry, everything will come out just FAB! :goodvibes

I can't wait for my dress to be hanging in my closet ready to go! The girls are happy with their selections, so if they are happy, I'm happy!

It was a busy weekend in my house. I did get a lot accomplished, as I should since there are 22 days - OMG! not much longer now. Now, for the updates...

Cake - A few days ago I emailed It's Tasty Too with the cake flavors I wanted. I want to have carrot cake with cream cheese frosting on the top layer and funfetti with strawberries and whipped creme for the second layer. I also asked about how the stand gets returned and they said that they would charge $10 to come and get it. OK, fine, I don't feel like driving to get it back to them. Today, Jay emails saying there was a discrepancy with the dates. He has two dates down, June 20 and June 22 so he wanted to make sure he had it right for the delivery schedule. Whew, thank goodness he double checked or I would have been eating cake the day I arrive. I replied and gave Jay my phone number to call if he had questions. He called shortly after to make sure we were clear on everything. He also wanted to make sure I knew that he highly recommended fondant so the cake doesn't melt in the sun during our cake cutting/eating. So far I feel very confident that all will be good with the cake.

License - The marriage license arrived in the mail. Not to not forget to bring it when we go down there. That was a really quick process and so easy. I'm glad I didn't have to waste time to drive around doing it the day before.

fans - I had to go to a couple of stores to find vellum for the fans. I decided to use that as the paper on the top layer of the blue. Michael's, where I had the 50% off coupon, didn't have any so I ended up going to Office Max and finding some there. 50% off would have been better, but I don't have time to wait anymore. I printed off the front and backs, and I found time to cut them all out (yep, by hand again). I just need to assemble them. That shouldn't take long.

While I was out I found some white tank tops for everyone so we can have custom shirts. I haven't decided if I should let everyone pick their own design or go with the same design for all of us. I'm leaning toward letting everyone pick, but who knows. lol I know they want their names on them because they can't usually get their names (Morgan, Peyton, Maryssa) I also bought some tank tops for me so I have a few more things to wear on vacation. Yeah me!

I finished make all 4 smaller flower balls. I was starting to run low on flowers but it is only for the picture effect so I think we will be ok. I also decorated my sand containers. I didn't like the little thing that came on it. I kept it very simple, maybe too simple. What do you think? (Those are little sand dollars on the ribbon)
wpid-2012-05-27_13-24-30_231.jpg

Shoes - I found some turquoise blue flip flops with the same color blue bling on them. I bought 3 pairs and I hope they fit the girls. Flip flops have been more trouble than I imagined. I can't find plain white ones anywhere and being on sand I don't want any type of heel on them.

Luau updates - Some of the first RSVPs have come in. Yeah! I am planning to have everyone wear a name tag with their Hawaiian name on it. I plan on keeping up on the translation as we go along. I'm not sure I mentioned it or not, but a neighbor will roast a pig for us so more reason to do most of the catering ourselves.

I think that is about it. Hopefully I can squeeze some time in between 2 soccer games, a gymnastics meet and a 9yo laser tag party to tackle some more items on my to do list. As much as I wanted to do something last night, my house needed cleaning so badly.

Oh, I'm sure I didn't mention that Carl is going to have his brother sand/refinish my wood floors when we go to Disney!?!?!?! That means that Carl need to lay some flooring in my dining room (my dining room has always had floorboard/plywood down since I moved in. That also means that all of the furniture needs to be relocated before we leave and I am going to come home with my house in chaos. I will be the only bride coming home in tears and not wanting to come home.

OK, now I think that is about it. Sorry for rambling. Lots on my mind and list ;)

Thanks, I hope my alterations can be done quickly or I will be taking a needle and thread in the and sewing my way to disney :rotfl:
