It was a busy weekend in my house. I did get a lot accomplished, as I should since there are 22 days - OMG! not much longer now. Now, for the updates...
Cake - A few days ago I emailed It's Tasty Too with the cake flavors I wanted. I want to have carrot cake with cream cheese frosting on the top layer and funfetti with strawberries and whipped creme for the second layer. I also asked about how the stand gets returned and they said that they would charge $10 to come and get it. OK, fine, I don't feel like driving to get it back to them. Today, Jay emails saying there was a discrepancy with the dates. He has two dates down, June 20 and June 22 so he wanted to make sure he had it right for the delivery schedule. Whew, thank goodness he double checked or I would have been eating cake the day I arrive. I replied and gave Jay my phone number to call if he had questions. He called shortly after to make sure we were clear on everything. He also wanted to make sure I knew that he highly recommended fondant so the cake doesn't melt in the sun during our cake cutting/eating. So far I feel very confident that all will be good with the cake.
License - The marriage license arrived in the mail. Not to not forget to bring it when we go down there. That was a really quick process and so easy. I'm glad I didn't have to waste time to drive around doing it the day before.
fans - I had to go to a couple of stores to find vellum for the fans. I decided to use that as the paper on the top layer of the blue. Michael's, where I had the 50% off coupon, didn't have any so I ended up going to Office Max and finding some there. 50% off would have been better, but I don't have time to wait anymore. I printed off the front and backs, and I found time to cut them all out (yep, by hand again). I just need to assemble them. That shouldn't take long.
While I was out I found some white tank tops for everyone so we can have custom shirts. I haven't decided if I should let everyone pick their own design or go with the same design for all of us. I'm leaning toward letting everyone pick, but who knows. lol I know they want their names on them because they can't usually get their names (Morgan, Peyton, Maryssa) I also bought some tank tops for me so I have a few more things to wear on vacation. Yeah me!
I finished make all 4 smaller flower balls. I was starting to run low on flowers but it is only for the picture effect so I think we will be ok. I also decorated my sand containers. I didn't like the little thing that came on it. I kept it very simple, maybe too simple. What do you think? (Those are little sand dollars on the ribbon)
Shoes - I found some turquoise blue flip flops with the same color blue bling on them. I bought 3 pairs and I hope they fit the girls. Flip flops have been more trouble than I imagined. I can't find plain white ones anywhere and being on sand I don't want any type of heel on them.
Luau updates - Some of the first RSVPs have come in. Yeah! I am planning to have everyone wear a name tag with their Hawaiian name on it. I plan on keeping up on the translation as we go along. I'm not sure I mentioned it or not, but a neighbor will roast a pig for us so more reason to do most of the catering ourselves.
I think that is about it. Hopefully I can squeeze some time in between 2 soccer games, a gymnastics meet and a 9yo laser tag party to tackle some more items on my to do list. As much as I wanted to do something last night, my house needed cleaning so badly.
Oh, I'm sure I didn't mention that Carl is going to have his brother sand/refinish my wood floors when we go to Disney!?!?!?! That means that Carl need to lay some flooring in my dining room (my dining room has always had floorboard/plywood down since I moved in. That also means that all of the furniture needs to be relocated before we leave and I am going to come home with my house in chaos. I will be the only bride coming home in tears and not wanting to come home.
OK, now I think that is about it. Sorry for rambling. Lots on my mind and list
