Pepper Market breakfast again. (Its getting hard for Jan to try new things here, so she just piles different toppings on her omelet!) Then we hopped the bus for Animal Kingdom to pick up the last few things we hadnt seen. We headed to Harambe first and since the line was short for Kilimanjaro Safaris, we went ahead and rode it, but we also got Fastpasses so we could ride again before we left. Then we walked over to Flights of Wonder to catch the first show. This show is wonderful Groucho is too adorable. I could listen to him sing all day, I think. And the beautiful bald eagle had Jan crying again. Who knew she was such a patriot? On our way back to Harambe, we got to see DeVine walking around she is really something to see. We used our Kilimanjaro Safaris Fastpasses and walked through Pangani Forest, particularly enjoying the meerkats and the baby hippo.
Then we had to say goodbye to the Animal Kingdom and head over to Epcot, where we planned to spend the bulk of our day. We went straight to World Showcase (with a pit stop at Ice Station Cool I watched Jans reaction as she tried Beverly and guess what? She liked it!) and went clockwise around the lagoon, seeing the pavilions we left undone on Sunday: Mexico, Norway, China, Japan, Morocco & Canada. Along the way, we snacked at a couple of the Food & Wine Festival kiosks (including Sugar Cane Chicken Sticks in South Africa and Scandinavian Chocolate Dream Log in Scandinavia). We got to see the Dragon Legend acrobats in China they are just incredible. How do you learn you are capable of doing some of those things? In Japan, we saw the Matsuriza drums and Miyuki, the candy artist. She was fascinating, but I took the opportunity while Jan was watching her, to slip into Mitsukoshi and buy some presents for my daughters (both Japanese students). In Canada, we watched the movie and were right on time for our 5:00 dinner ressie at Le Cellier. Dinner was marvelous the pretzel bread was brought out hot from the oven. (I think I can feel myself starting to drool just writing this.) We left just enough room for the chocolate-tipped bananas at the Ecuador stand.
We left Epcot and went to Magic Kingdom to see the Spectromagic parade and the fireworks before leaving. The Spectromagic parade was still as beautiful as I remembered it and at the end, when little Jiminy is waving to the crowds from the back of the last float, I cried like a baby. We wandered down Main Street to the Tomorrowland bridge to get a good view of the fireworks and got to see something special from there we noticed that the rose garden was set up with a couple of chairs and a table with champagne. After a while, a couple was brought in and we watched as the guy dropped to one knee and presented her with a ring. We couldnt hear them, but from the hugs & kisses, we assume she said yes. We applauded. The fireworks were beautiful and were the perfect finishing touch to our wonderful week.
When we got back to CSR, we had to stop at Panchitos to pick up all those packages we had sent back to our resort during our shopping day. Well, they went in the back to get them and brought out a rolling chair loaded down with bags on bags and more bags in each hand. More than a little embarrassed, we asked Bell Services to help us get to our room with all those bags so we could tackle the big question How do we fit all this stuff in our suitcases? Well, thats why we each packed an empty bag in our suitcases on the way down, right? And a little creative packing made it all fit perfectly.
We were really tired, Jans feet were blistering and I was seriously missing Jack & the kids. After a perfectly wonderful week, we were ready to head home. We set our last wakeup call and headed to bed.
Tomorrow: Home
