Gifts in the room on arrival

Hi how much would coast for my mum to have gifts put in our room on the day of our arrival witch is 21st March roughly around 19:30PM(7:30PM) for myself as an birthday treat(even thought my birthday was 29th January 2013).

I seen other guests that went the friends or family(without the kids) had balloons an car chocolate, champagne and flowers as gifts in the room on the day of their arrival, but both my and my mum don't like flowers or champagne, but we do love chocolate. We I be able have an soft toys as an gift instead of champagne and flowers.

I think you'd be better emailing - as its a lot cheaper than a phone call to France, and if you have any follow-up questions you can email again and sort everthing out that way (and it will all be in writing, less chance of misunderstandings due to language barriers etc).

It's a nice idea, but if I remember correctly it was quite pricey for what you get.

Personally I'd be tempted to put the money towards a really special celebration meal somewhere like Walts

I've spoken to concierge at DLH today as my DD is 18 on Fri 15th March and we are there 14 - 17 March. I had emailed them 3 times but had no reply (did from front office who passed me on originally). I tried concierge 3 times yesterday but couldn't get to speak to anyone, called at lunchtime today and got straight through and they then emailed me with a few details:

To book the various services we need complete the attached "prise en charge" with the details of your credit card and a photocopy of your card. We proceed to debit your credit card prior to your arrival.

Balloons and flowers will be in your room at 3 pm, check-in rooms.

The cost of decorating with balloons is 50 euros, for the flowers we have different options: a rose costs 6 euros or we can offer for 30 different bouquets with white roses, pink, red or mixed.

We will make the reservation for the restaurant Inventions with the birthday cake. We need to know when and how many people are you?

I'll probably go for the balloons and cake in the restaurant but might ask for a soft toy instead of flowers.

I arranged for gifts in our room last week. They only get your reservation 4 days before your arrival so they told me to email my request to them.

They will put ANYTHING in your room that they sell in the park.

They will put a basic balloon arrangement and card in the room for free. We also got 2 free donald plushes!

When I emailed they did not have a specific price list but replied with this:

here are a FEW examples of what we can arrange for you:
heliumballons with a decoration and surprises in the room (50 €)
a romantic decoration with roses and heliumballons in the room (50 €)
a classical celebration with a bottle of wine Chamagne Tzarine prémium 37.5 cl, 6 "bochées chocolate", 6 "appetizers" end 6 "petit fours strawberry sweetness" (100 € for 2 persons)
a set of cookies and brownies (4 € / person)
C hampagne Tsarina "premium wine" cl 37.50 (€ 37.49) or 75cl (€ 61.49)
We can organize a more straightforward aussi decoration with balloons and a greetingcard Without any extra cost.

We opted for the brownies and chocolates and thought at 4 euros each it was a bargain , they were delicious and well laid out. Per person we got 3 chocolate brownies, strawberries and grapes and 2 macaroons.
