Gifts for high school teachers

This is DS 1st year in high school. We of course always bought teacher gifts in lower grades and did somewhat of a selected gift giving in middle school (7 teachers). This year he has 4 core teachers and really likes them all. They are all GREAT teachers. i wanted to get something small, general for them but he says no, you do not do that in high school. I will respect his wants on this one but can anyone tell me if you do give gifts to these teachers. I am sure they would love something as much as lower grade teachers do. I thought small amount gift cards to starbucks. These could go in a card and be handed to the teacher??????????

I teach high school. We get very few presents. I personally only get a gift from about 2 students out of 90.

We don't expect gifts, but they are appreciated if we do get them. My best gift is students learning and behaving well for the last few days before the break.

I would love it if a parent sent me a Starbucks gift card. Hey, maybe they did, and that's why Johnny had Starbucks this week when he came to first period LOL!

I taught high school before I we had children and I got some lovely gifts from students and their families. I loved the practical gifts such as gift cards to Staples or Office Depot. I also had one parent who gave two movie passes to each of the "core" teachers. It was neat to head out for a date night thanks to one of my kids.

The nicest item I ever received was a card where a mother thanked me for all my hard work, dedication, and personal attention. It meant a great deal to have a parent recognize that I did go above and beyond the required duties. The best things in life are not things.
