Hello!
what are some things you gave to your cabin steward as a way to say "thank you"
Did you leave a little something everyday?
Who else did you pack a little trinket for ?

Thanks !

International phone cards,
Chocolate / candy.
Bottle of wine.

Suggest once at the end of the cruise not in between they may mistake it for your items.

Its not like WDW where you may get a different person making your room up each day on shifts, it's one person so a gift at the end.

Something they can use.

I'd nix the trinkets and go for extra gratuities at the end of the cruise and stellar marks and reviews by name on the comment sheet at the end, as well, if warranted :-). As many before have said, the crew cabins are itty bitty and shared, so there isn't a need or room for extra "stuff."

( I will add, my mom noticed on one of our cruises that our awesome cabin steward didn't have a watch, so she gave her the one she was wearing. It was probably just a $10 walmart watch, and the steward was elated! It was also an excellent excuse for mom to then pick up a Mickey watch she'd been eyeing in one of the shops :rolleyes1)

We took a box of snack pack almonds for our cabin steward and gave that to him along with a tip.
Took individual packets of Skittles (the trick or treat type) and some Dove chocolates for the kid club staff.

I've frequently been told that, since the CMs don't have a very large space in their rooms onboard, that "gifts and trinkets" really aren't what they want. Cash and a good comment on the comment card are the best "thank you" you can give.

As to other gifts, they can't have alcohol in their rooms that hasn't been purchased through the ship's store, from what I've read, and candy - well how do you know what they can eat (allergies/lifestyle)?

As posted before, we have given Wine to the people who looked after us, yes its restricted for use but they took it.

While we always tip above and beyond for great service it was very clear that positive comments on the comment card was what our cabin steward was looking for. It is very important to them and it doesn't take much time. I am sure she was very happy with the extra cash but was very focused on achieving great comments too

We started making small painted picture frames with magnetic backing last year in addition to their tips. It was a hit and they said they could use it in their rooms (walls are metal). Definitely doing it again this year, but I hear international phone cards are also good.
