Hey - I've read on here several times about folks who have requested for a gift to be in their room when they arrive. Where can I go and look at what's available? Also, how do you go about making this happen? Just call the main Disney line? I'm thinking about trying to surprise our little boy when we go in Setember (and my wife if she doesn't read this post!)

Thanks!
Mark

I don't know about the gifts. Never heard of that. But I know when we went to Disney on our honeymoon, we let them know when we made our reservations. We were surprised with an autographed picture of bridge & groom Mickey & Minnie (5x7)!

Maybe you can just call & let them know it's a special occasion & they might do something like that!

Hi Mark! I have done this but only when staying "concierge" level. When you stay concierge, you have access to Itinerary Planners who help with all the details, go shopping for you and set it up for you in the room. It is one of my favorite "perks" of staying concierge.
If you are not staying concierge this trip, I would recommend calling the Disney Florist or going to their website www.disneyflorist.com and they will deliver to your room once you have checked in. My husband did this for us a couple of times. When you come back to your room one afternoon/evening you could have a basket of goodies waiting for your little boy and a flower arrangement for your wife...there are many choices and if you call them, I've heard they can do things not listed on their site. Good luck!

If you order something with alcohol in it they may wait until you are in the room because technically the law requires them to deliver alcohol to someone over the age of 21. I received an awesome gift basket with wine in it on my trip last year... it was from the Disney florist!

Pixie Gifts is another great company that has had gifts waiting in our room upon arrival. You can choose from their ideas or they will shop for you and put a gift together. I think there minimum price is $75.00.

I don't know how to post the link, but their website is www.pixiegifts.com.

Have fun planning!

we were sent 4 gifts to our WL concierge room on our honeymoon and they were not left in our rooms the way our friends had wanted becuase ONE of the items had a bottle of wine in it.

they had a breakfast basket, snack basket, wine basket, and chocolate basket to be left in our room on each day...they were brought all at once, and we had to be present to accept them. (my friend was upset when she found this out...she wanted it set up a certain way and they either ignored it or failed to tell her their rules.)

however, when we got ENGAGED down at WDW in Dec 2001...a basket w/ champagne was left in our room when we were not there to receive it. (but we also got it on our last day...they must have gotten sick of waiting for us to be around.)

I know they will not deliver things to your room until after you have checked in. The reason for that is because they don't have your room assigned until you arrive at the desk. This may be different on concierge level but on standard rooms you have to wait till you check in, and they charged me to deliver it to the room last time. I could have picked it up at the desk at no charge except for what I paid for the item, in that case it was flowers.

Last year I wanted to have items delivered by WDW florist to be waiting in our room (concierge GF) they told us that they wouldn't deliver it till the day after we arrived due to the aforementioned room assignment issues.

i don't know about outside services...i hope you can get your magical gifts set up!

Just stayed Polynesian GVC and wanted to send my girls a gift from the WDW Florist. Was told by the Island Planning Office that they couldn't guarantee that the gifts would be in the room on arrival. We didn't get them until the next day but my girls were still surprised.

I had concierage staff arrange gifts last time and was very pleased. I also ordered things through Pixie Gifts. Beth was extremely helpful but it is pricey. There was no minimum but the stuff I bought seemed to quickly add up.

WDW florist - use them.
At the Dolphin not delivered to our room. I guess not a WDW resort. Just Starwood. We had to ask at the front desk where our
fruit basket was.

At the Contemporary - regular tower room - our fruit bag and goodies for the kids from the WDW florist was in the room
when we opened the door. The kids did not know about their
treats.
Maybe in our room b/c it was a deluxe WDW resort.
Not sure.

Call the WDW florist and ask their opinion.
Then call the resort and see what they will do for you.

Maybe it is not done b/c the resort is not sure what room
will be assigned to you at check in. You would not wnat your goodies to be delivered to another family.

:) one other suggestion:
Have the WDW florist deliver on your first full day at the park
after you have checked in - ie - the next day.
The while you are in the park - the WDW florist item
can be placed in your room (check with the resort first).

Just our thoughts :teeth:

Hey everyone! Thanks for your suggestions. I have been to the wdw florist site and will go to pixigifts too. Thanks again. Only other thing I need is for September to hurry up and get here!

God bless!

We arrive on our anniversary and I wanted to order flowers. If I can't get them that day maybe I should get some at the store when we stop on our way to the resort? They wouldn't be as nice, but I would like to have some on our anniversary.
