Get him an Amazon Echo Show as a combined birthday/Christmas gift. It's pretty neat for people who can't leave the house easily, or for the elderly who live far away because you can drop in on them with video chat so they can see you.

Maybe a meal subscription like Green Chef, Hello Fresh, etc...it might be something fun for him to do.
