Since I'm traveling to WDW around Christmas, I wanted to use the opportunity to buy some relatively small (~$10-20) Christmas gifts for a few of my co-workers/bosses. Any ideas for some "cool" gifts at WDW that are preferably not Disney-related (I know; I know - not everyone is as enlightened as us DISers). For what it's worth, I work at a law firm... Thanks! :goodvibes

There's a thing called the Buddha Board for sale in the Mitsukoshi department store in the Japan pavilion at Epcot.

It's a magic drawing surface with a real calligraphy brush, that uses water to create images that then slowly fade as they dry.

Everyone who passes it has to play with it! Would be very fun for a central office area.

I was just thinking some more (did you smell smoke- ha?) You can probably pick something up at the orlando airport that has florida on it.

Some kind of food is always fun.(coco, coffee, snacks).. Ghiredelli chocolate is amazingly good.... They also have a some great gift shops in DTD West side..

When I was in EPCOT earlier this year there were these beautiful marble bottle stoppers in multiple colors at the Italy Pavilion. I think they were around $7. Also some great items in France.

Food. There are hard candies in Disney tins (I know Disney but it's not "in your face" Disney) at all the candy stores. If someone is a jelly bean eater, you can get them a bag of mixed flavors at the candy stores too. Shortbread cookies. Mickey pasta (everyone loves pasta and I'll bet some of those co workers and bosses get the mac and cheese in Shrek designs). There are a lot of kitchen items too. A Mickey pizza cutter - that's cute and handy as well (and it lasts a long time). A pin that is related to a favorite sport like golf or something. Just over Labor Day, we picked up a Mickey pin for Ohio State for our daughter-in-law who is a fan of Ohio State.

None of these things are really over the toop with Disney stuff but I think you can be surprised that people that you think are stodgy will appreciate a little of Disney in their lives. Even if it's a Grumpy pin.

The Contemporary Resort has a beautiful pen which I believe was around $8?

It's silver and black - and heavy. It writes like a dream and looks professional but does say in script "Contemporary Resort".

I got a really nice wooden one in a leather sleeve at the Wilderness Lodge. It also says Wilderness Lodge on it but it was very well received.

I'm sure you could find candy not Disney related. What about Christmas ornaments for those that celebrate. They have wonderful ones in the Christmas store. I know you said not Disney, but they really have beautiful ones.

You can also find items in Epcot World Showcase from the various countries or MGM.

I usually bring some kind of candy/treat back for co-workers or classmates (I'm in college).

Even if it is Disney it's still delicious. :P

Other than that I pick up non-disney related stuff at the WS in Epcot. I love the Japanese store. There's lot of neat stuff in there.

Thank you for all of the replies. I'm so excited about shopping this year at WDW!

I found something cool last week at Epcot that I would definitely give to co-workers!

It's a little hand-exercise squishy thing in the shape of a lightbulb that has the Imagination Institute logo on the front on the back it says "Exercise your imagination!" it was 6.95. I just can't stop squishing the thing!

I think that would be a very cool gift to get if I were a co-worker of someone who went to WDW! :) And no calories. Well, unless they decide to eat it, and if they decide to eat a foamy lightbulb, then they're on their own.

Don't know if they are still around but I used to buy Lego "people" themed keychains at the Lego store in DTD and they were a big hit with my office mates. And they were a lot less than $10. The little people arms etc. moved and people could tinker with them during meetings!!!

LOVE the store in Japan. I got the little ceramic cats for my co-workers once. They have lots of sizes and different kinds... Gold means you will get money, etc.

When I first saw your question, I thought "FOOD" because Everyone likes a present that they can eat - it's free, it's good, what's not to like?
Then I thought if you know the nationality of the people you were going to shop for (I know they're most likely American, but you know what I mean) then you can shop at the different specialty stores in each country, making each gift unique and they'll think you've put some thought into it..

Something cool for their desks is another good idea, like that item the DISer suggested from the Japanese store with the caligraphy writing thingie.

Good luck and let us know what you got so we can have an idea of what to do if we need to do the same!

candy, ornaments from any one of the Christmas stores.
