I need some ideas for gifts to bring back for my 8 yr. old DS's classmates & teacher that won't break the bank.

You may be able to find something at the Character Warehouse at the Belz or Premium Outlet locations. But it is hit or miss on what they have. You should be able to get something at World of Disney at DTD. There is lots of small less than $10-$15 souveneirs. Here are some ideas:

mini snowglobe
stationary
teacher related items (I think they have some)
Box of Disney chocolates
go to Basis and get some soap items

Or make a small gift basket.
Howe about something nonDisney related (you don't want to depress the teacher!)

I bought mickey and pooh shaped lollipops from the candy store in fronteriland at the magic Kingdom. They were about $2.50 for six, I think? My kids gave these to all their neighbor friends. 4 packs of these would cover an average size classroom.

You can buy Mickey head crazy straws at some of the resort food courts for .49 each.
Also each morning at the food court at both POFQ and ASMO they put out stacks of coloring pages for the kids. That is a cute freebie.

We have bought the suckers that you can buy in a bunch of 5 or 6. They aren't too expensive.

For the teacher, I usually grab a red/white/blue antenna ball, and most teachers really appreciate a lined note pad.

Otherwise, pool all your money and buy something for the class. In third grade they may be studying some foreign countries and you might pick up a nice book in Epcot.

Great ideas everyone !!! Thank you for your replies!!!
disneyeveryyear, I really like your idea for a book. My Ds's class is studying all the countries of the World so a book from Epcot would be great !

I've brought back a box of toffee for my coworkers before (I've also brought the coffee sampler pack back, but didn't think that would be good for school kids) :rotfl: Also, there are 6-packs of Disney World pens that can be broken up to hand out.

I'm enjoying the ideas too. I have a son in pre-k. There are 18 kids in the class, so the suckers and coloring pages sound good. I'm also thinking maybe a bag of pretzels or something.

You know what I just thought about? I've seen the 4 packs of disney pencils at the dollar tree (actually, I've picked these up for the kids going with us) I could get a few packs of those for him to hand out to the class. I'll probably get one other small thing to go with it. Maybe the pretzels or coloring page or both.

We bought disney pencils for my DD second grade class. Not too expensive at the parks, but the dollar tree is prob. a good idea.

I'm a teacher :)

I like mugs, note pads, PENS (I LOVE to use wacky pens/pencils...have a foofy Tink one I use to take attendance and the kiddos LOVE it!) and magnets...I put them on my filing cabinet. Just some ideas of things I've gotten and I buy for myself to use in my classroom!

Thanks. Maybe we'll get DS' teachers pens and the kids pencils! Its great to know what the teachers actuall like!

For my daughter K class, we collected Disney napkins, Mickey shaped plates from the kid's meals, (we asked for a couple extra plates each time we ordered her a kid's meal and they were great about it!), those Mickey sticker that the cast members hand out freely and bought Mickey shaped pretzels and Mickey and Friends animal crackers for the kids in her class to have a special snack with her when she got back! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

For the teacher we bought a book from Mexico, since that is the country they study in her class, as well as a funky pen!

Great fun and fairly inexpensive! :flower:

We did pressed pennies for the kids and bought a notepad/pencil set that had a magnet for one of the teachers and a set of chocolate dipped cookie spoons for the other teacher.

Both were happy with their gift.

Pam
