Hi! My wife and I are big Disney fans! We are DVC members, go to the parks annually, have done the cruise a couple of times and have even done Magic Meets! The fact that we couldn't go to D23 broke my wife's heart...

My wife's birthday is coming up and I am looking for some good, and hopefully unique, Disney ideas. Budget is a concern, unfortunately. As much as I would like to, I can't afford to whisk her off for a long weekend at WDW. She has a stack of trivia books and a lot of park (and DVC) art work. We spent our honeymoon at WDW in 1996 and renewed our vows at the chapel in 2006. We buy all the movies and she downloads the weekly pod casts. So I feel a little stuck and short on ideas. Can you help?

Thanks!

Does she like to bake? How about the Disney Waffle maker? My husband purchased a Disney ring for me on QVC last year. Does she like figurines or ornaments? Disney has plenty of those. Framed Disney Stock, 1 share for $119.00?

Who is her favorite Disney character & try to focus on that.

Here something especially for a birthday....

$50.00 from Lenox - When Mickey is invited to a birthday party, he really throws himself into the celebration! That's just how you'll find him on this limited edition keepsake box. Hand-painted Lenox ivory fine china accented
with 24 karat gold. This was under http://www.findgift.com/

Just type in Disney when you get there. Good luck!

There's a beautiful (but kind of pricey) Disney charm bracelet. I think it's from the company that always advertises in the coupon section of the Sunday papers.

I know somehere on this board has it, I've seen a photo a while back

The budget is, I'm ashamed to say, is probably $200 as a maximum at this point.

No need to be ashamed of $200, something in that range is a GREAT gift.

Check this out from Disney shopping--the items I like are called "Gallery of Light". They run about $65-$90 each. I've seen these at WDW on the past two trips and they are really cool. Nice quality (heavy), and it's a Disney thing that is somewhat subtle. The pictures don't do them justice.:earsboy:

LOL! The D23 Membership was on the top of the list, but she beat me to it this summer! Here I was thinking I had the perfect gift... I was bummed out. She also got subscriptions to Celebrations Magazine and Tales From the Laughing Place Magazine. Foiled again!

Wait...you're DVC? Do you have an Owner's Locker? Not the most personal/romantic gift, but it's sure makes those WDW trips easier. :earsboy:

She has been trying to talk me into an owner's locker for a little while. I haven't been able to bring myself to the expense (though I realize it isn't much). We did compromise and made sort of an "Owner's Locker Home Edition." We got a 40 gallon tote and filled it up with stuff that we only take to Disney. We even decorated it. Then we expanded on the idea and made one for the beach.

I think you should re create a Disney experience for her!!

Get yourself some Mickey ears, play some Disney CD's and have a lady & the Tramp pasta and meatball dinner! Have some nice wine, and have a Disney movie marathon!

Do you have any old vhs or trip video that you could have put onto a DVD as a gift? Then you can watch that! It would be awesome to turn off all the lights and watch Wishes Or Illuminations at home. Could you hook up your PC to the Tv to watch YOUTUBE versions of the fireworks? Make a slideshow of pics from your trips?

When you do to Disney, what are you favorite foods, meals & desserts? Fav resteraunts? You could do like a Sci Fi theme burger & fries.

Make it special and personal. And of COURSE get a spectacular Disney cake. The best part of Disney is how it makes you feel The warm fuzzies. :) You could top it all off with a Mickey ring from QVC they are not real diamonds, but they are cute, or a Disney watch.

That is such a sweet idea!! I would be thrilled if DH ever did anything like that for me..

OP-- I've seen some Disney jewelry at Sears in the jewelry section-- Dont remember the prices, but dont think they were very expensive.. not sure if you even have a Sears store nearby.. just wanted to throw that out there though..

Disney stock? :confused3 I'm not sure you can even buy it.

They don't still have the bricks or anything available do they?

Hey, a shout-out to Tales from the Laughing Place! I know the publisher and writers/photographer.

AWESOME publication. :thumbsup2

Where do you live?

I know this sounds crazy, but can you swing the cost of a round-trip ticket to Burbank, CA and do the Princess and the Frog special screening? It could be uber-nice and inexpensive if you just flew roundtrip in the same day and bought tickets to the event without getting a hotel room.

She'd be able to see the Walt Disney Studios Lot, and they NEVER, EVER open to the public except this small limited engagement.

A lady that I courted is a Disney nut also and loves Disney Snow Globes so that is a possible idea. She has sooooooo many of them it is quite impressive. I was able to find one that she did not have but I would never try that again as she has so many and would hate to get a duplicate.
