My brother is getting married on Saturday, and my sister and I would really like to give our future sister-in-law a little something at the rehearsal dinner. She only has brothers, and we were thinking of something along the lines of welcoming her as a sister. We had thought about maybe some sort of keepsake and a letter from us. Anyone have any ideas? I'm also posting this on the Community board. . .I need plenty of ideas!

Very sweet!!! I think she would appreciate any gift...probably the thought and caring that you put into the letter is what she will cherish most. I am an only child with not-so-nice sister in-laws, so I am sure, that she has found a gift in you!!

I don't know your price range, but maybe a little necklace or bracelet with the word "sister" and the date of their wedding?

How about gift certificate for a spa day with you and your sister (a girls day out with her new sisters).

One of those picture frames that says "sisters"? (I've seen them several places...Bed,Bath&Beyond, Kohl's...)

A spa day or other fun event planned for the 3 of you would also be great.

Do you all live close, where you and sis and new 'sis' can get together for coffee or lunch sometimes? Maybe a gift card for a place to do that with a note saying it's for a monthly "sister" get-together.

I also love the other ideas you've gotten here.

The thought is so extremely nice - she's sure to be touched no matter what you give her!

How good of a relationship do you have with her? If he is marrying her soon I would assume you have had interaction with her and would know her likes and dislikes - maybe give something that you can all do together and bond.

I think that's really sweet of you. DH and I have been together for 11 years and have three small kids together and I think my SIL has just recently started coming around to the fact that I'm not going anywhere. I would have LOVED to get such a warm reception, especially since I grew up with all brothers. Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be much appreciated. :goodvibes

This one gets my vote.

I have 3 brothers and 1 sister in law. Your thoughts are lovely and I'm sure whatever you do will be very much appreciated.

Thanks all! Great ideas--I'm about to go call my sister to make final plans.
And thank you for all the kind words!:goodvibes
