Gift exchange certificate for pass

My daughter had a Disney wedding in August 2008. At that time the wedding planner gave her and her new husband exchange certificates for annual passes that could be used any time in the future. They saved them for a time that they thought they would be able to get a lot of use from them. Now they want to use them starting with a trip they are taking in October. They don't have the bar code on them that the new passes have so they are having trouble getting fast passes. Any ideas on how that can be done? She has talked to ticket services who said she couldn't get fast passes and would have to wait until she got there in October. Then she talked to guest services who said the exchanges weren't even good any more because they were only good for 1 year after she got them. They have never been used and have no expiration date on them or anything about expiring. Any idea on how she checks on that? Thanks.

Thank you but ticket service was no help. The person she spoke with said she could not make fast passes and would need to wait until she got here. She has the pass exchanges and is staying on property so it doesn't seem right that there is no way they can allow her to make the fast passes. I know sometimes the answer you get depends on who you are speaking to. Plus now I guess she has to fight to get the exchanges honored. Maybe now they give exchanges that must be redeemed in a year but at the time she got these that wasn't the case.
