Gift Cards

Heading to Disney next week and see Sam's is having a special on gift cards for Black Friday. I got a Family of 4 with a 4 day park hopper & Genie plus. Probably eat 1 meal a day in parks. I currently have $400 in gift cards. What is a comfortable amount that I should have in gift cards so I dont bring anything back.

our family of 3 would burn though 400.00 easily on food and merch in 4 days. We do not do sit down very often but we do Starbucks and that adds up!

This is very subjective based on the ages of your kids, eating habits and likes. Perhaps select a few restaurants or QS you want to try and look at the menus, adding it up and include a bit of a cushion. Also plan for snacks.

Didn’t mean to come off flippant, there is just a wide range depending on your own preferences and where you eat. I know for my family I budget $100pp per day, but we are foodies with 3 growing boys that eat a lot (esp my 13-year old!!!), we enjoy a cocktail and wine with dinner, eat all our meals in the park, etc.

One thing I would mention is that I find we snack more/are hungrier at DL, most likely due to all the walking! This extra cost can be alleviated by bringing in snacks, but for my family the food is part of the experience.

Gift cards can be used online at ShopDisney, so if you do have leftover money on the card, it can be used outside the parks.
