I'm sure this comes up a lot but can gift cards be used at any restaurant in the parks even the ones at the DL hotels? I'm thinking of carrying some cash with me for the carts/misc and then the rest in gift cards for all our dining reservations.

Yes, gift cards can be used at all the restaurants in the park and at the DL Hotels (at least I've used them at Napa Rose, Storyteller's Cafe, Steakhouse 55, and the Paradise Pier ones). Some of the carts (the ones that accept credit cards take gift cards (look for a "register") also take gift cards.

So do you think I can use them for the F! dinner at the BB?

We use gift cards practically everywhere. I would call and ask, but we have used them at BB for regular meals so it should carry to the package meals. We have also used them with holiday dining reservations. I earn gift cards through Swagbucks (We used them for our passes last month). It feels like found money!

I also use swag bucks and shop kick to earn gift cards. I've used them in gift shops, disneystore etc the only place I couldn't use one I've encountered was ghiradelli at dca

As others have mentioned they take them at any restaurant (in the parks and hotels, not downtown disney) that takes credit cards. Keep in mind thought that you cannot put tips on them so if you want to tip you will need some extra cash. We used them for pretty much all of our purchases our last trip, including special meals like the WOC dining package with no problems.

I mentioned this in another thread, but if you have a Target Red Card you can buy them at target for 5% off. Also if you have a Sam's Club membership I have seen them for sale there for close to 5% off as well. They are a great way to save some money.

Just wanted to mention that they cannot be used at most of the DTD restaurants.(this was all of the DTD restaurants that we tried). They did not accept them at Earl of Sandwich or Rainforest Cafe, so we decided not to try our luck at Naples or Tortilla Jo's. I put over $900 on Disney gift cards thinking that they would probably accept them everywhere on property....I will not make that mistake again on our next trip.

Also....they don't accept them at the cart that makes personalized parasols inside DL either.....

This trip, I'll probably put around $500 on Disney gift cards and use them at the restaurants inside DL, DCA, and the hotels. Thanks to a PP for mentioning that they can't be used at Ghirardelli----good to know :)

We use Disney GC all the time.
We have tipped with a GC without a problem.
DH is very good at checking balances and what not.

Actually, you can tip on them. We did so at storytellers without issue for our Christmas Dinner meal. We used two separate cards and they ran them to purchase the dinner. One had enough left to leave a tip. We simply added it to the receipt and they recharged the card for the additional amount without issue. We have also done so at BB and Carnation Cafe. :goodvibes

Yes as OP have mentioned, Disney GC's can be used in the parks for your dining. We are planning on using ours at the Blue Bayou in March when we are there:)

Sorry about that, for some reason I thought we couldn't use them when we tipped our last trip.
