Gift Cards

So in making my recent DLR stay, I wanted to make a payment towards my stay with a gift card, and was told I cannot do that (although I can at check in). Is this the same for WDW?

Totally untrue!
Trip payments, partial or otherwise are absolutely possible with WDW. You can call the Disney number and even do it through the automated system, or talk with a CM, or via the website using the MDE now. (That method is still somewhat hit-or-miss though).
I have been paying our trips down for years this way...(well, not the MDE until this trip though).

Yay!! Thank you. We save our all our coins & put them on gift cards, and I use my rewards to get free Disney gift cards at Target. It helps make our room feel more affordable! Lol

Disneyland you can't. At least not if reservation is made online.
