Sorry, I know this has probably been asked before but....does anyone know if you can use Disney gift cards bought in the UK in Disneyland?

My husband is a big pin collector and as a little gift for our anniversary (we dont really get presents normally) I wanted to get him a gift card to buy pins with when we visit in September.

We have a Disney store locally or I could order online but even online, I suspect it will be dispatched from the UK.

Any ideas if he could use this in the US?

Also, on a non Disney related topic - he wanted to get a Starbucks card. If we buy it/load it here, can we use it in the states?

I don't know the answer to this, but sometimes when I want to do little gifts like that, I make my own "gift card". You could make something up for him and say he gets to pick out two pins or whatever. Also, that way you are not left with a small amount on the card if he didn't use it all up.

Also, don't know if you are going other places here, but Starbucks is a little hard to find around DLR. I think we found one in a hotel somewhere. And some Starbucks within stores are not actually run by Starbucks and you can't use the card there. We ran in to this problem in a Barnes and Noble in the bay area. It looked like one with all the signs and everything but they don't take the cards. So if it isn't a stand alone store, better check before ordering if you want to use a card.

There's a Starbucks at the corner of Harbor and Ball, just north of the freeway, and a block north of HoJo's.

Starbucks?? As a Brit don't you favor *Costa*? On one of my flights to visit my now DH *he's a Brit* I sat by a man who went on and on about how Costa is superior to Starbucks. I got an egg salad sandwich and OJ from a Costa in Heathrow, I enjoyed it ;)

As for your gift card ? ~ maybe you should post it on the WDW board *if a gift card purchased in the UK works at WDW it'll work at DLR I'm 99% positive.

Disney Gift Cards in the US are good in DLR, WDW and on DCL. So if a Disney GC purchased in the UK works on a cruiship(that may be in a Eurpoean or British port), or WDW it will work in DLR too.

Thanks for all the replies, v helpful!! You'll notice I haven't quite got the hang of the quote thing, so I replied as best I could......

Yup - Costa is still prevalent here, but Starbucks is making a valiant effort to take over the world :lmao:
I'm not a coffee drinker (typical brit - I love my tea!!) but the better half is a lover of the starbucks based on the few you can get here and trips to Florida.

The reason I was thinking of getting the gift card was because our anniversary is in July but we wont be in DLR until September. Thought it might be a nice little gift but seems like it might be problematic!
