So I read the old threads on gift cards purchased at the supermarkets... If you buy them online at Universal's website do you still have to exhange them for Universal Bucks (or whatever they are called) at guest services before you use them? I called Universal help line and he said he though they could be used like a credit card so now I feel torn because these boards seem to usually be right. :goodvibes Anyone with recent experience? Thanks

What the guy told you is correct, you can now use them as a "regular" gift card instead of having to exchange them for UO dollars. HTH.

the gc system changed this past month.

it's a joy to use the UO gift cards now.
so easy!

The gift cards sold at the supermarket still need to be exchanged for Universal Bucks but I'm hoping that changes soon. But the gift cards sold online through universalorlando.com and those purchased at the park are used just like a preloaded credit card and don't need to be exchanged.
