Gift Cards - 2013 travel

I wonder if they've changed the policy because gift cards were mysteriously disappearing. Both trips last year, the gift card was in the Mickey Mail but I know there were a few people complaining their card was missing. I guess if they give you a voucher, they can check that the people getting the gift card are the right people.

Yep, like I said, I think they may have sent out too many gift cards to people accidentally at some point

Has anyone else had their documents for travel this year and only had a voucher for the gift card?

Was really disappointed to get our documents today to find a voucher that has to be redeemed at World of Disney at DTD

Yes, us too. Our pack arrived today with the voucher and like you I was a bit annoyed at that. Last time the gift card was in the pack.

Personally, I think its a ploy to try and get us to spend it in the world of disney store while we are there instead of on more practical things like tips etc.

I contacted the Poly Itinerary Planning Office to see if I could redeem the gift card voucher anywhere at the Poly, instead of going to DTD, and they have replied that the only place you can redeem it is at World of Disney in DTD.

Just thought I would update this as we collected our gift card the other night.

The collection point is the information desk is at the rear of the World of Disney store. I had to provide both photo ID and resort ID and it took about 5 minutes for the woman to process. The queue was also quite long as they only have 2 'desks'.

Another one who has redeemed their voucher. We went along after lunch at WPE last Monday and while there was no queue it took the CM ages to process. As others have said, photo ID etc needed. I asked at Guest Relations if we could exchange it there as I wanted to buy TIW but was told the World of Disney was the only place it could be done.

I got my voucher last night, even though we haven't checked in yet. Just needed photo ID. Can also confirm you can use the giftcard in Planet Hollywood.
