Hi,

I'd like to purchase a few gift cards on line to be shipped to me in Canada (BC). I'd like to give them away as a gift in a few weeks to people going to DL soon.

From reading about them it looks like they can be used at most places in DL (especially the stores).

Has anyone ordered them to Canada?
How long did shipping take (was customs an issue)?
Was there a shipping charge?

Thanks!!:goodvibes

I honestly don't know how to help you, but I would strongly suggest that you post this question on the Canadian DIS forum, as I know that you will be able to get more help with your questions there regarding this. Hope that this helps.

We tried to get a GC for DD6 for her first disney trip online from the Disney store- unfortunately they will not ship to Canada :(

Thanks for the responses. I hope I'm not out of luck getting them shipped.
DnA - did you try to order them recently?
Belledozer - thanks for the suggestion, I'll post there in case someone has ordered recently.
Thanks!!

I was going to order some for the kids to use at Disneyland...but the online store says it's $25 for shipping. Just for shipping. :scared1:

So instead I just waited till we were at Disneyland and bought them in one of the gift stores our first morning.

I wanted to buy gift cards last year to give my kids for Christmas before our January trip and found that the website will not ship to Canada. But I phoned Disneyland direct and they sent me the gift cards by mail with no shipping fees. They only had a limited number of characters to choose from and I believe the $ amounts were limited too but I got what I needed. The CM I spoke with was very helpful.

Not sure where in BC you are, but a new Disney store just opened up in Metrotown, Burnaby a few weeks ago. They might have cards for the parks. Also, if you are in the lower mainland and do any shopping south of the border, I have seen Disney gift cards for sale at Fred Meyer in Bellingham.

This was in February.

Those are great suggestions! Thank you!!

I spoke with the Disney store in Metrotown hoping they would have the gift cards, but apparently they are not connected that way with the Anaheim resort. It's too bad since Metrotown is close and convenient for us.

Good to know that we can order them by phone and that they are sold in Bellingham. I don't usually need much of an excuse to do some cross border shopping :rolleyes1 I love me some Fred Meyer.

Thanks for the help!:yay:

Sorry, but I can't remember exactly how long it took. They came by regular mail and it seems to me it took about 2 weeks.

So good to know that we can get them at Freddys, have to go get cheap cheese and a Disney giftcard for DD birthday. We are going on the repo from Vancouver to LA then to DL for 5 days so a gift card is a work well.

Speaking of Metrotown Disney store, has anyone been since it re-opened? Is it bigger?

I live in Richmond, so I had no idea that a Disney Store reopened in Metrotown:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:. This is outstanding news, as I'm planning a surprise trip to DL in Sept, and now I can get shirts for the kids without spending an arm and 2 legs trying to have them shipped to Canada before the trip. Thanks so much for the info.

We went to the new store on opening day! It's really something and so worth it for a little Disney fix between trips! The are even having character signings there sometimes. I don't think it was much bigger but certainly re-designed and a few things for kids to do which is really a fun addition. Some weekends they have activities too. They are posted on the website. I have really missed having the store so was very glad to find there was a store again. It's on the far east side of Metrotown under the food court area. Enjoy!

I do know the Disneystore in Metrotown sells parkhoppers for the World but not for the land.:confused3 you would think being on the west coast they would sell both.
