Gift Card question

With a major credit card on my account, with prepaid gratuities already paid in advance, and I receive Disney gift cards as presents, and I apply them to my account, for example, if I get $200 and I don't use it all, what do they do with the remaining balance?? For example, on Carnival they gave me a check, does Disney do the same??

Back onto the Gift Card(s). So don't throw it/them away.
