Gift card question....

I have what may be a dumb question.....i just got a few gc's to use for food at disney however I have a question... I buy them, activated they are $50 cards....now what? Do i need to do something else?

Thanks....what is the little 'scratch off' thingy on the back of each? I have actually never used hem before(not disney) but another thread reminded me that grabbing a few for 5x points was a good idea,and I know we'll be eating (plenty) while we're there....

If you want to check or track your balance, scratch it off and input the numbers at disneygiftcard.com. I actually peel it off (it's a sticker) so I don't make a mess, and then put a piece of Scotch tape over it so the card isn't sticky.

The site doesn't tell you where you used it but it does tell the date, time, and amount for each purchase. Tips are shown as a separate transaction, usually a few minutes after the regular meal transaction (not as the total of transaction and tip like on a regular cc.)

Someone posted about an app you can load your cards onto to track, or you can just put a sticker on each and write the new balance as you go. Or take a Sharpie in your bag and write directly on the card.

Yes. Almost all of the stores, and many of the kiosks accept the Disney Gift Cards.

I always keep my receipts from each transaction, and mark my card balance with a sharpie pen.

so, could I input the number on the back of each card before I go, and keep track on there? How long does it keep your balance? I guess I need to go read....
