Gift card for using Online checkin?

Awhile ago I recall reading that you could recived a small Disney gift card at checkin for using the online checkin, and if you loaded it with $100 or more the added $5 or $10 bonus on it. My facts may not be right but any info would help.

When I went in April at check-in I recieved a gift card that had 10.00 on it. I don't know why I received it. I would've asked but I didn't even realize that I had the gift card. But the letter attached to it said to watch my email for a special letter. I recieved the email 2 days into our trip and it said if we reloaded 100.00 on it we would receive an extra 10.00.

I remember reading about that here on the dis last spring. When I went in July I did online check-in and there was no GC for me.
