Good one.....:rotfl2:

Enjoy your trip!!!

I love all your baskets!

My sister and I are taking our sons in August and I have decided I am going to order baskets from Sarah. I think I will do a Star Wars (Jedi Mickey) for my son and a Pirates one for my nephew. I love looking at Sarah's website and getting ideas. I was even thinking of getting a tote for my sister. We refer to her as "princess". I would love to do a princess tote for her. But then I would be the only one not getting a basket. I can't wait until it is closer to our trip to place my order.

Keep the pictures coming.

It is never to early to order a basket. The earlier you order it, the more time you have, in case you think of something new to add or want to take something out, etc and for Sara to come up with new ideas, if she can't get what you want. Sara is awesome!!!!:goodvibes

BTW....each additional basket is only an additonal service fee of 5.00, so indulge and get yourself one!!

Have a great trip!!!

Definately Order your basket now... Or atleast start communicating with Sarah! she is getting really swamped with Buisness. In the first 2 weeks of May she already stopped orders for the rest of the month because she is getting SO BUSY!!
She will shop now (or atleast have your list) and get your stuff and like the previous poster said she can always add stuff later if you think of more stuff! Also she is going to be away for 2 weeks in June and will not be able to communicate with anyone via` phone or internet... so Now is probably a great time!
Also one last thing... Her fees did go up... But she is ABSOLUTLY worth every cent... so I wouldn't be surprised if she ups it again at the begining of the summer... So maybe lock in your rate now!!
Her current rate is 28$ per basket and 8$ per additional basket... Totally still reasonable... and still would be reasonable if she ups it to $30... and $10!!

Thanks for sharing your pictures. We'll be ordering 3 baskets for our trip next May. Yes, even DH gets one filled with some good treats and Star Wars goody. Thank you to the person who pictured there Star Wars basket with Goofy. That's about what I would like.

Then I will get 2 baskets with princess things for the girls. I probably won't order til March of next year though. That'll give Sarah 2 months to help me fill them up.

Cute baskets! I just sent her an email about doing a Mickey themed one for DS4 and an anniversary one for DH and I for our August trip!

Hi. I started another thread about Gift baskets, what companies did them and pricing...

So, I thought it would be fun for people to share pics of baskets they had done or are having done soon, that they might have a picture of already.

I am having one done in May.

As soon as I have the pic, I will share...

So, please post your gift basket pics here!!!

Thanks
Trentmom

Here's a pic of the basket I made for DD. We'll be celebrating her 13th b-day at WDW. It has a Pirate theme pirate:
pirate.jpg

1 Mickey pirate plush
1 Pluto pirate plush
1 Stitch pirate ears
1 Pink pirate eyepatch
1 Epcot passport
1 surprise bag from the $10 and under store in DTD
100 trading pins
Bag of candy from Goofy Candy Co
Pirate beads
and A Pokemon(sp?) game.

I am going to add a few pieces of her fave candy and hopefully a $20 card for the BC Arcade.:goodvibes

Fantastic job! :thumbsup2 Our girls would get along well. Great idea to use the gift bags from the $10 and under.

Did ya'll notice that Memoriesbysarah is now by Betsy. Check out the website...I wonder what happened?

I would like to know.

The prices seem odd. Like, are they the price written under each basket PLUS the $28 fee now?
And, at the bottom it says that Florida Health Dept law prohibits the delivery of food items in gift baskets. Is this a new thing? That seems really odd. I have seen so many gift baskets from other retailers with pre packaged food.

I would be interested to know what happened and what is up with the new site and so few examples of choices (or lack thereof, it seems).

Anyone have more info????

From what I heard, Sarah moved and her assistant took over???

Feralpeg mentioned on another thread about FL law now prohibiting food items in gift baskets. :confused3

I'll try to help on the food issue. Florida has a law that prohibits the use of any food items, including prepacked items such as candy, popcorn, pretzels, etc., in gift baskets assembled in a private residence. This law has been around for awhile, but I was out of the business so I wasn't paying any attention. I was doing some research a couple of months ago and came across the regulation. I contacted the Florida Dept of Agriculture and a lawyer. There is no way around this other than to rent a storefront. Disney Florist and regular florists are not affected by this because they work out of a location other than a home. Sarah, and now Betsy, work from their homes. The same goes for Gifts of a Lifetime. I also worked from my home. Once I found out about the regulation, I contacted the other businesses to let them know. This isn't information that the state readily revealed to us, yet a violation of the regulation can result in a $5000 fine and business closure. As far as I have been able to discern, Florida is the only state in the nation with this type of regulation.

Others have asked why groups such as boy scouts, little leagues, church groups, etc. can buy items and sell food items. Since they are considered temporary (meaning one time) vendors, they are exempt from the regulation.

Believe me, if there was a way around this, the small gift basket vendors of Florida would find it. I've talked to different Florida gift basket companies across the state. They all hate this regulation and have tried to find a way around it. The only solution is to rent a location that meets the state guidelines for mobile food vendors. I looked into what that would cost and it is very expensive. Since I never made that much of a profit on my baskets, there is just no way I could ever afford to rent a location. Perhaps one of the others will find a way. In the meantime, please realize that this is not something that those of us in the gift basket trade want.

I received an email from Sarah a few days ago that she is indeed moving with her family and her assistant, Betsy, is taking over for her.

I have emailed with Betsy and she seems as nice.

Thanks for the clarifications. That is just really sad. How is anyone supposed to be able to run a business like that?!

Hmm...I was trying to think of a way around this. Like, myabe someone can make up the basket and then we, ourselves, can stick in any treats, etc that we may want in there before it is "delivered".

Anyone else have any ideas on how to kind of get around this? Except to go through Disney Florist only???

Lets bump this up and get some new pictures of these great baskets I am loving them we are surprising my son with a birthday trip in Nov so I might have to get one of these
