Sorry if this is not the right area to post on, but I am sure I have seen this here before.

Can anyone tell me the websites of the places they have used when ordering a surprise to be left in your room? Please also share your experience with it and if you would do it again?

If you don't mind can you also share what you ordered or received in the surprise and perhaps a hint at the overall cost to do this?

Any suggestions for a surprise for my DD's 5th birthday? Also DH and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary and I wanted to surprise him with something.

TIA for all your help, Suz

I have heard or Memories by Betsy too. Search for that on the boards and you should get something.

Does anyone know if Peggy or Betsy would put together a basket with stuff I buy. I have already gotten the stuffed toys and a few other things and was wondering if they would put together and deliver? The only thing I would really want for them to "shop" for is a 1st Timer button. Anyone ever done this?

Dan Murphy, sorry to hijack your thread, I seemed to be doing this a lot tonight!

You can also use the Disney Florist as well.

Keep in mind that the baskets cannot be delivered to the room until after the guests check in due to security reasons. So a basket cannot be waiting in a room when the guest initally arrives.

However once they check in, the Front Desk team can deliver the basket to the room and leave it there if the guest is in the Theme Parks.

Have fun!!!

Oh, I did not know this. Is that the same for any of these places or just the Disney Florist? I had thought it would be a nice surprise when we checked in.

What we have done.
We always use the Disney florist.
We arrive at our resort in the AM - the room has never been ready.
We check in, tell the front desk that a gift from the Disney florist will arrive and ask it to be placed in our assigned room (what ever it may be) and store our luggage.
Then we go to the Park for rides, have lunch and get back to the resort around 4 PM.
We go to the front desk - find out what room we are in, and see if our luggage is still in storage or in our room.
We we open our room door - there waiting for us is the gift from the Disney florist on the table.

So I guess, it hapens when the guest checks in. We sort of check in- just the room is not ready.

Another idea is to have the gift item delivered on day #2. Arrival day check in and do what ever you do. Then the next day - tell the front desk of the gift arrival and ask for it to be placed in the room - then go to the parks.

Enjoy whom ever you order from. All companies are great to use.

Thank you everyone. I really want to make this happen for DD and DH.

Any thoughts on what I could have put in the basket for DH? He is not into any one character and he does not golf!! He is a total techno nerd and he likes to look for Hidden Mickeys.

Oh, I read somewhere that these gift basket places can not put edible stuff in the basket, yet I have seen a few on the Disney Florist sight with them and I believe Dan Murphy's DD had one. Does anyone know if this is correct or not?

Thanks a bunch, Suz

Only the Disney Florist can put food products in gift baskets. The picture you saw of Dan's basket happened before Florida decided that home-based gift basket businesses could not use food products.

Your husband might like a Hidden Mickeys Book!

can put together wonderful baskets of items you desire (you pick them and she designs it)

Go to the gift shop for Disney snacks at your resort.
You can find Disney cookies, gummies, lollipops, crackers, chocolate.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much everyone!! Such a wonderful bunch of people you all are!

I have started to check out some options and make a list of what I would like to get. THanks again,

Suz

I would look into Peggy or the disney florist. I used to use sarah but shes gone and the basket I got recently from Betsy wasnt as good. All the prices were left on the items and it wasnt packaged as nicely.

Just an FYI - Disney Florist is great but they will not leave a basket in your room if it contains any alchohol (beer, wine etc) unless you are there to receive it. They have to verify that the person receiving it is 21 or over. If you are not in the room they leave it at the front desk and leave you a message on the answering machine in your room. They do a beautiful job though.....

If you want to do something really fun, try www.giftsofalifetime.com. My husband suprised me on our 10th Anniversary with a scavenger hunt set up by this company. It was Tigger themed (I love Tigger, but they can do any theme) and they hid little treasures all around the Magic Kingdom and instructions at each location on how to find the next (you can set it up at any of the 4 parks). Eventually we were told to take the Monorail to the Grand Floridian and search under a couch, where we were met by a butler who took us to a private dinner on the balcony. It was fantastic, we could see the fireworks, they had rose petals strewn all over and we had a personal menu to choose from. It is a day I won't soon forget, I have the greatest husband !!!

They can do any type of package, large or small and they are wonderful, I hightly recommend them. :thumbsup2

Wow, lots of great ideas from everyone, thank you all. I have checked out all of them and as great as the Gifts of a Lifetime is I think it is a bit more than what I wanted to do this time around,. But what an awesome surprise to do for a loved one. Grumpysue, you are a lucky lady!

I have a bit of time to make my decision, but thank you to all for your suggestions and help. It is most appreciated.

Have a magical day, Suz
