Hello!

I apologize if this is the wrong spot to post this, but I was wondering if someone could offer some advice? I am looking to make a nice gift basket for my 1 year old son for our upcoming trip to Disney World. I want to give it to him along with his Christmas presents (I'll be honest, more for the pictures since he is still too young to care :) ) We are going to Disney for 2 weeks in January and he LOVES Mickey Mouse! This will be his 3rd time there already (gotta start them young right?) and we are a very Disney oriented family! You guys were so helpful when I was planning for his Mickey birthday party, and now I've come to you guys again for help! I love everything personalized, so any ideas you guys might have would be greatly appreciated, either things I can make, or things I can add to a basket or possible Mickey suitcase if I can find one that would be age appropriate.

If this is posted in the wrong forum, just let me know where I can move it to! Thanks so much!!

Here are a few ideas:

1. I would make an autograph book so you can take pictures of him with all of the characters and match it up to the autographs in a scrapbook.

2. T-shirts or clothes with Mickey

3. Stroller License Plate

4. Snacks in ziploc baggies with cute bag toppers. I have some in the link in my signature then look in the "candy" file. Bababear also has lots of great ones!

5. Stuffed Mickey and/or other Disney characters. You can find ones at Family Dollar this time of year for around $5. I got Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, etc. there last year around Christmas time.

6. Souvenir things that he can grow with like:
a. pressed penny book
b. hidden mickey book
c. lanyard with his first disney pins

7. Disney books that you can read to him

8. Go to the Dollar Tree as they have a ton of Disney things and see if anything pops out at you for a 1 year old

9. Scrapbook or picture album to keep pictures in from the trip

Hope that helps and gets your creative juices flowing.

Wonderful ideas Dolly

Thanks so much Dolly, those are wonderful ideas! I am definitely getting him an autograph book and he just started walking so it will make for adorable pics walking up to the characters :)

His scrapbook is hugeee, and I can't wait to add all the memories from this Disney trip (it will already be his 3rd!)

Could questions.. I am not familiar with the stroller tags.. Are they for any stroller or just ones we rent there? Were bring ours so it's more comfortable for naps, but it's quite expensive and I would love something to make it more personalized and easy to find in the sea of strollers, so any ideas for those would be appreciated.

Would love to do some shirts, but could use some ideas on some cute ones.. We will be there 2 weeks so I gotta mix it up a bit, would love some personalized ones and some cute/funny sayings that are more unique then I would find in the park.

I'll look into all the other suggestions, thanks so much!
Any other ideas are appreciated, I'm getting so excited for this trip! :)

I took my own stroller and easily added the "license plate" image to it using cable ties that you can find in the hardware section at Walmart/Target, etc. I have plenty of options that you can personalize yourself by adding your family name or child's name. I attach mine to the handle of the stroller so that I can easily spot the stroller as you they move the strollers around A LOT at Disney to keep them organized. If you do this make sure you leave lots of extra slack in the cable ties so that the license plate doesn't get in the way of you holding the handle to push the stroller. I hope that helps.

You can also find lots of great license plates in Marion's shared files.

Here is a thread that teaches how to insert the image into Word so that you can insert a textbox to personalize it yourself:

For t-shirts there are sooooo many ideas out there. You really should look in the "meet the Disigners" sticky and take a little bit of time to look through different shared files.

Thanks again Dolly, great advice! If you don't mind, one more question.. What size do you make the stroller tags? And do you laminate them or put them on cardstock? I will definitely look into making a personalized one!

Also want to bump this incase anyone else has any great ideas :-)

I put mine on cardstock, laminate it so that it lasts throughout the trip and punch holes to run the cable ties through. For size, I make mine as big as I can get it on an 8.5x11 inch sheet of card stock. If you use Marion's hers are different sizes than mine. Mine are shaped more like true license plates and hers are taller to fit in the rented strollers.

Sounds good, I'll look through some designs tonight and attempt to personalize!
Just went to our dollar store and for some reason they don't have a lot of Disney stuff. He already has all the books, quite a few stuffed animals, and a few of the other things listed.

I wish he was old enough to understand, because the last 3 times we went i didn't know this board existed yet and i want to become crafty and creative and go all out for this trip. If anyone has any other ideas I'm open so suggestion!

The Dollar Tree is the one that tends to have the biggest selection of Disney items, although you can find Disney items at Family Dollar and Dollar General.
